Brighid was our course instructor, and she was super knowledgable, open and supportive to all types of relationships, birthing plans, and wasn't overly dogmatic by recommending a "one size fits all" approach to this very dynamic process. She was experienced and knowledgeable, answered our questions, gave recommendations, resources, and context, and we could not be happier with the experience. The office was quiet, clean, free from distractions, and the environment was comfortable and inviting. My wife had a few fears/concerns about being a first time mother, but after the class she's feeling much more comfortable now that she's equipped with so much context and information. Overall this was a fantastic experience and anyone who is feeling overwhelmed and is looking for a bit of guidance and support should seek this place out. Thank you Brighid!

They covered every aspect of the third trimester, labor, delivery, and even newborn care and breastfeeding. Since I was going to be in the delivery room I wanted to be able to be a real help to my daughter. When the time came to head to the hospital Tracy was available to help and support my daughter with real time suggestions for early labor and beyond. And when there were some complications I knew the questions to ask the doctor and nurses because Tracy had taught me how to seek out the relevant information so that my daughter could make the best decisions for her baby and for herself. Tracy's wealth of experience and knowledge is amazing and was incredibly helpful. Her caring, calm demeanor and thoughtfulness was everything we wanted and more. Tracy truly is the BEST!

However, she told us that she wouldn't be able to attend our baby's birth due to COVID concerns and that she has an assistant doula she's very confident in that will be there for the day of. On the day of, the assistant doula showed up and was not helpful at all. This was her 4th time being a doula. I was clearly in so much pain, but she didn't proactively offer me any advice, a new position to try, or anything motivational. The only thing she did was take out essential oils which didn't do anything for me. I honestly feel like I paid thousands of dollars just to have another body in the room. My husband had to proactively ask her, "Hey, her legs are sore, can you help me massage them. Hey, can you call Tracy and ask what else we can do? Hey, are there other positions we should be trying?"

She made me feel safe and loved during a very vulnerable time. And that feeling never wavered, from fist meeting all the way through birth and after. I will always remember her bringing me some eggs and toast- just what I wanted. I was naked in bed, blissed out, eating my breakfast with my new baby beside me and she was just like an angel in the room. Rebecca is deeply kind and professional. She connected me with my midwife, and that single introduction changed the entire trajectory of my birth experience. I truly believe things unfolded the way they did in large part because of her. And then there are the photos. Rebecca captured moments during my labor and birth that I never could have seen with my own eyes. Those images are some (most) of the most treasured things I possess. I look at them and it bring me back to one of the greatest moments of my life and I will never forget it because of her. Rebecca didn't just support my birth -- she helped hold the whole experience for me, so I could be fully present in it. I will be grateful to her for the rest of my life. If you are looking for a doula who will care for you with this much heart, choose Rebecca. You would be so blessed to have her at your birth and receive her loving care.

Looking back now, I honestly cannot imagine going through this experience without Rebecca. From the beginning, she brought this calm, grounding presence into a season of life that can feel so unknown and emotional. She answered countless questions, checked in often, and somehow always knew how to make me feel more steady when my mind was spinning. I never felt judged by her. I felt supported, heard, cared for, and genuinely safe. We originally planned for a home birth, but our plans changed and we ultimately ended up at the hospital. In a moment that could have felt scary and lonely, Rebecca helped make the experience feel held. I still remember looking around the hospital room thinking how different this all was from what I had imagined, and feeling so grateful that she was there beside me. Her presence felt like an anchor in the middle of a storm. Doula support is not just about birth itself. It starts long before labor and continues long after the baby arrives. Rebecca spent so much time preparing me emotionally and practically for what was ahead, and after birth she continued to show up in ways that mattered deeply to me. She helped with lactation, helped my baby latch, answered late-night questions, and reminded me that I did not have to figure everything out alone. In those blurry, emotional first days of motherhood, having someone there with experience, gentleness, and real compassion made all the difference. Rebecca supported me through the entire transformation into becoming a mother. That is what I will always value most. She is truly incredible. When the time comes for baby number two, there will not be a second thought about calling her again.

I took Lia's childbirth class during my first pregnancy in 2023. I live in South Orange County, so…read morethe drive was a bit of a commitment, but it was absolutely worth it. Being in class with other expectant couples created such a supportive environment, and the course was incredibly comprehensive. It gave me the knowledge and confidence to navigate a hospital birth and make informed decisions about the many interventions that are commonly offered. At 38 weeks, my water broke unexpectedly while I was riding a stationary bike. I immediately reached out to Lia for guidance. Since I wasn't experiencing a fever or any signs of infection, she explained that I had options: I could either go to the hospital right away or stay home and wait for labor to begin naturally. She also educated me about the fact that the body continues producing amniotic fluid and that, in some cases, a small rupture in the membranes may even reseal. Knowing that going to the hospital before labor started would likely lead to an induction (which wasn't aligned with my goal of having an unmedicated birth) I chose to stay home and monitor myself. The night before my 39-week OB appointment, I was feeling anxious. I knew that if my provider confirmed my water had broken before labor had started, induction would almost certainly be recommended. I reached out to Lia again, and she suggested trying the Miles Circuit. I followed the stretches that evening, and to my surprise, I went into early labor around 1:00 a.m. Whether it was the Miles Circuit, my body simply being ready, or a combination of both, it gave me the confidence to keep trusting the process. In January 2024, I welcomed a healthy baby girl through the unmedicated birth I had hoped for. While my hospital experience was unfortunately traumatic, the education Lia provided made all the difference. There were many moments when my husband, my doula, and I had to advocate for my birth preferences, and it wasn't always met with respect. Without the knowledge and confidence I gained from Lia's class, I truly believe my birth could have unfolded very differently. I'm now pregnant with my second baby, and one of the first things I did was sign up to retake Lia's class. One of the biggest perks is that once you've taken her course, you can retake it as many times as you'd like for free. Childbirth education isn't something you only benefit from once, and I love having the opportunity to refresh everything I've learned before welcoming another baby. I'm incredibly grateful for everything Lia taught us. Her class empowered me to make informed decisions, advocate for myself, and approach birth with confidence. I wholeheartedly recommend her course to any expecting parents, especially those hoping for an evidence-based, physiologic birth. Even if you have to drive a little farther to attend like I did, it's worth every mile.

First off, it can be hard to find time to take a birth class, and Lia chooses convenient times, with multiple options to choose from. It's a very comfortable classroom atmosphere where I felt good to ask any question, or add any comment. Lia keeps it fun and interesting, and is a great teacher. Lia is also available outside of class for questions, and she is super responsive. It shouldn't really matter if a doula has been pregnant herself.... But it was really helpful to hear about her first hand experiences and to know that she has gone through it all before. I just wish we in lived in LA so that we could have Lia as our Doula.

The vibe was calm and expert. With decades of collective experience across hundreds of doula's in their network, Cheryl and Khefri taught it and you just felt their commitment to your eventual birthing experience and that this was their passion in life. They are accessible and show up for you like someone who would do this good work for free because they love sharing their superpower for the good of you and your family. And people would and should pay them millions for the service and everlasting memories they empower us to have, truly a unique and life changing experience and partnership. I got a recorded meditation that I literally listened to 100 times everytime I rested or took a bath. Come time for go time, it all fell into place. They instilled in us that we are not sick, or needing external help to give birth - I truly felt that our bodies know what to do, are built to do this, and that it's a natural and easy process - not something to fear, resist, fight, or try to make go away ie the contractions are our bodies doing a job and nothing to be afraid of. In fact, what if we embraced, allowed for, and appreciated the power of the body and our spirits to see this process through? Khefri's newborn class was incredible. We did a one on one. She gave us a literal list with links if needed, of what to buy if you are having a baby lol! What you'll need within the first 2 weeks. She showed us how to swaddle and bathe, hold and care for a newborn. I attended some of Khefri's kundalini yoga sessions for expecting mothers. It was so soothing and power inducing that I ended up playing the playlists during my 6 hours of labor. I was an over 40 first time mother. With Khefri (doula) and LA Birth Partners (class) and Birthfit (fitness) and LA Midwives as my partners - we had a successful and easy home birth as well! Though all the practices we could easily have tried at the hospital. In fact, a few months ago, I assisted my sister in her first birth as well. We did it at the hospital but was able to get contractions started naturally, used calming homeopathics and techniques (like birthplan on the door, don't ask me if I need pain meds I'll tell you, candles, cover bright machinery and lower beeping, etc). We could not have done it without Khefri! Literally, we did our last class from the hospital room. Then after the class ended, Khefri became available by text and phone to help us through the contractions! We had questions about the homeopathics, dosing etc to try to start the contractions naturally. She helped with all of it! I can't thank her enough, she went above and beyond, sharing love and support and expertise even more than any actual family members! You feel like you owe so much to these amazing doula's who believe in and know what's possible with a birthing experience. Even someone like me who'd never even seen a birth before, was able to have a homebirth when our western doctors were more than ready to receive us as geriatric mothers at the hospital. None of it was necessary. And we knew that, because we kept on top of medical visits etc leading up to the big day.
