Easy to order. Consistently good. I'm glad we have good boba here. The workers are almost always cheerful. Sometimes there's a long line and that's when the app comes in handy to get your drink order in I love the tea series. And their salted cream. I always get a side of it to dip my bubble waffle in. This Happy Lemon location shares a building and eating area with Pho Hoa, kind of surprising since I thought Pho Hoa always partnered with Jazen Tea. At any rate, Happy Lemon tends to be pretty consistent between franchises, so I thought it would be safe to get a drink here after eating lunch in the area. Boy was I wrong. My first indication that this would probably be a poor visit was the sign prominently displayed on the front counter that "due to recent activities" they "remake drink/food only if it was a wrong order." So basically they don't stand by the quality of their drinks at all. If they make a drink poorly or you are dissatisfied in any way - too bad! Boba Milk Tea, 50% Sugar, 50% Ice ($6.25) - When I received this drink, I immediately shook it a couple of times before sticking the straw in. I started to sip - and as soon as some of the liquid started traveling up the straw, I knew I had made a mistake. The overwhelming fragrance of plastic and artificial chemical odors wafted up into the straw into my mouth. The taste of the milk tea was not much better - exceptionally heavy with creamer, with the taste of creamer completely overwhelming all other elements. Happy Lemon in general is known for adding a bit too much creamer in their milk teas, but this Happy Lemon is on a completely different level. I could not tell that there was tea in the drink whatsoever. The drink comes with boba. The boba here is as equally disappointing as the milk tea. The pearls are hard, basically splintering apart with a single bite instead of bouncing back. The boba sticks together into large blobs and have an especially grainy interior, making them unpleasant on the tongue. This was a thoroughly unpleasant drink and I could not manage to finish it. Milk Tea Rating: 1/5 Boba Rating: 2/5 My 1/5 ratings are reserved for the worst of the worst, or places that are dishonest or unethical. Happy Lemon in Olympia!!! I couldn't be more excited to see a very much needed bubble tea/cheese foam drink/waffle shop here in Oly. I went on their opening day and the lines were fairly long as expected, but the staff were so kind and efficient in taking and bringing out large orders that there were no more than 5-10min wait for each person. And let me tell you, they had a BOGO event going on that day so most people had double orders. I ordered Mango Milk Tea with added Cheese Foam (my fav combo at Happy Lemon, so if you haven't had it, please give it a try. Its the best one in my opinion), Fresh Squeezed Lemon tea with Tapioca, and Original Waffles. My other go-to location has been the one inside the Bellevue Square, where their waffle is always very thin dry and crunchy, lacking the chewy texture. Waffles here were done perfectly, soft-crunchy outside and edges, and chewy pull-apart bubbles inside. So good. The staff and the kitchen staff were so kind even though they were slammed with orders. I know opening week can be really tough especially in town like Oly where we are always excited for Asian café like this one. During my 20 minutes there (from ordering to also taking a bite in café before taking the rest of it to-go), all customers left in smiles and staff were in great mood despite opening day chaos. My review in a sentence: Save your money and go somewhere else for your drinks. Drinks are made with spoiled milk, so my friends all got food poisoning (thank God I threw mine away) and the workers are unprofessional and horrible. The store is full of flies and gnats everywhere. When we were waiting, I watched how the workers just leave the opened containers of milks sitting out in the counter all day instead of staying cold. Then to my horror they poured the spoiling milk right into our drinks....yikes! That is not good food safety practice. I saw this and instantly had a bad feeling about our drinks. I spoke up and asked nicely for a refund and explained that I don't feel comfortable drinking milk that had been sitting out on the counter all day because that is a big safety issue. they made a huge deal out of it and even forced me talk to the Chinese owner on their iPhone...? I talked to the owner in the employee's phone that she shoved in my hand. I work in management myself, so I explained the food safety concern. Instead of apologizing, he yelled at me and refused to give a refund for the $6 drink because he insisted it's normal to leave milk out all day and he doesn't want to do a refund. The manager doesn't take constructive criticism well and doesn't care about the safety of his customers, just about making a $6 profit. He is dirty when it comes to his business. I never got a refund but I just threw out my drink away immediately because I don't take chances with my health for a dumb drink. My friends drank their drinks anyway... and just as I predicted, they ALL ended up having stomach aches and FOOD POISONING within an hour. I would never come back here or support this dirty business. I love bubble tea, but my experience at this location really made me think twice about coming back. It felt like service was based on how much you tipped. I didn't leave a tip, and my order was just left sitting on the counter--no one called out the number, no effort was made to let me know it was ready. The best thing about this place is that they are located in the same space as Pho Hoa and I love Pho Hoa. They also have good fresh desserts and I like the cheese foams. However, the boba drinks are just so so. I haven't had anything there that I'm craving. I'm simple to please when it comes to the boba world, but even something simple like a brown sugar boba milk tea is meh. At least the space is clean and there's tons of seating area between the two restaurants, but I'm don't need to go here. That's no slight on this place. I haven't found any place around here that has a crave worthy boba drink. I guess I just miss Boba Time in LA and Purple Kow in San Francisco. This boba place used to be a go-to, but the quality of drinks has changed. My brown sugar boba has just been grainy, and the boba tastes burnt. Also per my wife their matcha has just been chunky and poor quality as well. And on top of that they no longer allow milk substitutes for a majority of their menu, unlike other locations. I've been to this new location about four times now and can say that it's just as good as any other Happy Lemon I've been to, and I'll absolutely be a consistent customer. If you're not sure what to order: I highly suggest trying the Mango Matcha Smoothie with tapioca. Also, any bubble waffle (I love the 1/2 chocolate, 1/2 original!) with the puff cream is just too good, and will keep you coming back for more. Things to keep in mind: the shop literally just opened, so wait times are naturally a little long, but that's perfectly normal and just something to keep in mind before you arrive. Okay, so I was on a bit of a power trip here for about a good month. I would come and get a strawberry green tea with lychee boba and an Oreo waffle. Sometimes I would even get two drinks. For the four times that I visited, I got more and more ice. The last time I asked for no ice. I was told that I could NOT adjust the ice level. I asked why, they explained because of how they make their drinks. They blend the ice down, which still doesn't explain to me why I can't have less ice. I explained that each time I come, I get less tea than before. He stated he can "give me extra tea" however, I still received the same amount of tea as before. It's disappointing to pay $6+ for a drink that is filled with half ice. I enjoy the flavor of the drinks however the price point doesn't match. Also, the last few times the place has been pretty dirty. I sometimes catch It during a rush which is understandable, but when every open table is dirty it's as light problem. I've been wanting to come here for a couple months, just never had a chance to until this weekend. I'll start out with the place being very clean, smells amazing, and the workers are very nice. If a busy menu is overwhelming to you, I highly encourage taking a look and have an idea of what you want before you go. The menu is jammed packed with so much going on. I grew up going to a place from my hometown in Orange County in the early 2000's, it was super basic and I thought this was going to be similar to that. I couldn't decide what to get so I went with the peach green tea as it was a featured drink and looked good. I added tapioca to mine which I was looking forward to. My husband ordered the Boba milk tea (A3) with crystal boba. There must have been some missunderstanding because my peach green tea ended up having the tapioca and crystal boba in it leaving very little of the peach green tea. I forgot to ask for no salted cheese so that was on me. It has a very unique taste that I personally was not a fan of. The waffles are AMAZING, that is all. We'll be back to try something different. I'll be taking a deep dive into the menu to have a more solid idea of what I want now knowing its way different from what I used to grow up getting from a similar place. read more

If you leave no tips, you'll be discriminated and get a bad service with an attitude from this place, that included not call you when your drink is ready, or served undercooked bubble waffle. I tested my theory a few times and it was proven to be true. For the price charged, I'm expecting better service, tips or without tips. For a minimum basic service to greet customers, prepare orders, and call upon customers, this should be what you're hired for and shouldn't be excepting customers to tip extra, unless you go above and beyond that basic service. This was already a 2 star experience, but after hearing the manager or owner YELLING at their employees in the back, I took another star off. Idk what happened, but it seemed like everyone was doing their jobs like normal. It feels weird to support a business where the management or owners are on a power trip and yell at their employees. I dont know what went down at Angry Lemon, but that doesnt make an excuse for a manager/owner to explode at their employee in front of everyone like that. I went to Happy Lemon in Olympia while on a work trip. I live in the North Seattle area and thought it would be nice to stop by for their grand opening! The line was extremely long, but I was more than happy to wait! An employee recommended me a really good drink, and that same employee made them perfectly. I asked for something with real ingredients, since the majority of them are powder and artificial. I have to knock off stars for my review because of what I witnessed with the employees and manager/owner. They were working tirelessly while the manager/owner pushed her way through and past them without so much as an "excuse me". Employees were noticeably upset by each time it happened. If this is what happens during the day-to-day operations, I can't imagine what happens behind the scene. Unfortunately, it seems like the management at this location is not the best. For the grand opening they had a buy one get one free deal. I got the Jasmine tea with salted foam and regular milk tea for hubby. I don't like sweet milk tea so I like when a place has a 0 sugar option which they do. I am giving them less stars because they ran out of tapioca. That's should be illegal in the boba world. Needed a cold drink before floating the lake on Thurs. I happened upon Happy Lemon, and man, good call. It's very cute inside and reminds me of shopping malls in Asia. Very cool. It was hard to choose a flavor. Ended up getting the avocado matcha smoothie with tapioca pearls. My kid got the Taro milk tea. He was into it. Excellent customer service! Expect to spend $10 for a drink, just like Starbucks or your favorite pint at the bar. Loved this place and even better....it's connected to Pho Hoa! Are you kidding me? Unbelievable! What luck!
