Kai and the Happy Paws team blew my expectations out of the water. The only reason I'm no longer with them is because I moved, otherwise I would still be using them. Kai was super thorough during sign ups. She came to my house for a 1 on 1 consultation (COVID safe of course) and talked to me about Tilley's needs and what she could offer. I ended up having Tilley walked 3x/week. I swear my little girl had an extra wiggle each time she came home from her pack walk. Matt was Tillz dog walker and I truly have nothing but great things to say about him. He is prompt, so nice, and Tilley absolutely loves him. He is the only person she will bolt downstairs for at the door (she's a little lazy, I usually need to give her a little tug). She came back happy, exercised, and exhausted. All the things I want my little fur-ball to feel after a nice long walk. Also, I had a training session with Bria and she is a lifesaver. She trained me how to train Tilley and I've never looked back; Till is like a different dog now. I will 100% be using her services for training in the near future. We have been using Happy Paws for a little over two years and could not be happier. Kai and Clayton truly treat our dog like he is their own. We use them daily for dog walking services and have used them for boarding numerous times. I have been using Kai for about 5-6 months now. We use her one on one dog walking services. Tucker is a 14 month old, 50 lbs black lab/?? mix. I specifically like that she has one on one services. I have seen dog walkers around handling 4, 5, 6, dogs and it looks like a mess to me. I also saw a dog walker today in South End lose a dog who ran across a busy road, and while trying to chase down that dog, she lost control of her 2 other dogs!! Luckily all 3 dogs were ok, but that is NOT a situation I want my dog to get into. Personalized attention is the best! Kai not only offers an amazing dog walking service but she is also a great resource. Any behavioral, diet, etc. questions that we have are answered by Kai! For example, Tucker had an upset stomach for 1-2 days and wasn't eating anything. We texted Kai and asked a few questions on what we should watch for before sending him to the vet. She gave some good advice and made us feel at ease. She also gives us very beneficial CONSTRUCTIVE feedback regarding Tucker's pulling, barking when someone is at the door, etc. If you are a dog owner who is not afraid to hear that your dog did something bad (it takes time to train a puppy!), Kai will be perfect for you. She has an easy online booking system but also responds to last minute text messages. I've texted her asking for a "day of" walk numerous times, and she is always happy to help. I have called upon Happy Paws twice now - once for an extended trip and once in an emergency where I was stranded due to weather. We were in search for a new dog walking company to not only come in and walk our golden doodle Charli during the week while we are at work but also to train her. The first impression is not always the right one. I was impressed by the passion of Kai about dogs but then I got a really bad experience. She was not able to take care of my dog all the time I was out for a trip and she suggested me a dog hotel. I replied that I was more comfortable to have the dogs at home with another dog walker and I tired to search one. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find it and I sent to Kai messages and e-mails in order to ask her to go ahead with the dog hotel. The result is that my dogs were left alone in the apartment since Tuesday morning to Wednesday afternoon (one day before the date I was aware she can't take care anymore of my dogs). I discovered this because the manager of my building called me and informed me about this... he told me that Kai was upset about the fact I was searching another dog walker. At the end the manager brought the dogs to a dog hotel. Last but not least, when asking explanation to Kai she started to say that my dogs are aggressive. I have all the reports from her saying my dogs are lords. The dog hotel itself when asked told me my dogs behaved very well. One of my dog got an internal bleeding and nobody (neither Kai or the dog hotel) noticed it, I saved his life by miracle. read more

I was referred to her by a friend over a year ago as a potential trainer for my corgi puppy Lola who was having some nipping issues and just needed general puppy training as well. After meeting with Kai we were 100% comfortable with her and so was our pup. She does an initial meeting and tailors her sessions around your goals for your dog. We used Happy Paws for about 7 months for our 11 month old puppy. At first Happy Paws and Kai seemed reliable and flexible. She was helpful with her tips and tricks for puppy training and walking services. We informed her that, because of our fluctuating work schedules, we would have some weeks of walks every day and other weeks in which we would only need her once. She was more than happy to accommodate. We developed a personal relationship with her that we believed was very strong. She was constantly saying how much she loved our puppy and enjoyed being a part of all our lives. Then, one day, completely out of the blue, she blind-sided us and let us know that she would no longer be providing walks. She sent us a "termination" email at 9 p.m. that was incredibly cold and lacked any sort of personal touch. The termination was also effective immediately. When we contacted her to get our keys back and ask about the situation, she let us know that dog walking was a waste of her time since she was a professional trainer. She was rude, unprofessional, and unapologetic. The whole situation was a disaster and it left us high and dry without a walker for our great puppy. read more

I have been using Kai and Happy Paws for a little over a year now and I truly cannot say enough good things. I got my adorable French Bulldog last April and knew right away I was going to need some serious help training the little guy. It was important to me to have someone help train/ enforce obedience while on his daily walks because honestly, in the beginning he was like the Tazmanian Devil. Luckily Kai was patient enough to work with me and show me the things she learned while training with Cesar Milan. She took the time to teach him commands, how to walk with the leash without pulling and be a more calm, well behaved puppy all around. She has even gone above and beyond to watch Beau when I've had to travel for work. It's comforting to know she is going to take care of him just like she would for her very own. Beau has had a few allergy episodes/ issues with his breathing, so Kai made a few great suggestions for allergy medicine I could use to help with his breathing and always checks in later that night and the next day to see how he's doing. When I was moving she offered to take Beau overnight for me which was so thoughtful and a HUGE help to not have to worry about him while I was trying to make it through the horror of moving. She is so understanding of everyone's crazy busy schedules and has really gone above and beyond many times to make my life (and other client's lives) much easier. She is so incredibly knowledgeable about everything related to dogs and has been such a wonderfully helpful resource and friend to both me and my pup. We do not have enough good things to say about Kai and the Happy Paws crew. We adopted a one-year old lab/pittbull mix this summer and quickly realized this puppy thought he was in charge of us! We met with Kai and loved her right away! The tips she gave us over the course of just a few sessions changed our lives!
