Had an amazing time getting to play with all the sweet kittens that were available. You can tell that the staff is truly passionate about what they do and the care for the cats to deviate from potential owners who may hold ulterior motives. Aside from the adoption side of things , the cafe and experience with the cats is great. There are plenty of cats to sit and play with and toys to pass around. It is INCREDIBLY clean in there.

We went into the pet store and saw 2 German Shepherds. One was a 100% German Shepherd and the other is a Shepherd/Malinois. I visited with both Shepherds and Maximus seemed to be the livelier puppy and because my kids have ADHD they needed the more lively puppy. I decided to go with Maximus. I was approved for financing and it took me around 4 hours to get the animal which include signing all the documents and cashing out. I truly had a wonderful experience with purchasing my puppy. The issue that I have is the health of the puppies and the "perks" that you receive with the puppies. You are supposed to get free veterinary care for the life of the puppy and 6 weeks of puppy training. The Veterinarians were very rude when I called them so I decided to go somewhere else. I'm kinda glad I did as I see other reviews showing that you still have to pay for everything and it's not included in the price. By the way, I pay $50.00 a month and I get unlimited visits for my puppy which includes neutering at another veterinary clinic. Also, I went to my first puppy training class last night. The class was for 2 hrs and 45 min and it was not a puppy training class. It was an introduction to having a puppy. She showed you how to correct a puppy. She explained leash management, some potty training techniques, she is a proponent of choke collars (Aheasoun Prong Collar for Dogs). She didn't talk about proper tone, name recognition (when she used a dog for example she did not call the dog's name). I asked if this is going to be the time that we need to come every week for the class and she said I already gave you a lot of information but if you all come back next week I will expand on what I spoke about today and we can test the animals to see how has your training gone so far. This is not what we paid for! She also said in order to learn off commands, leave it commands, come commands, no bite commands we have to take the class but according to the puppy paperwork that we received all this is supposed to come with our purchase. Granted I was late to the class but I thought it was a planned pet training 6-week course which it wasn't. Looking back I would not trade my puppy for anything in the world. He is a wonderful puppy. He had a respiratory infection in his chest, Crate anxiety, and he also had a stomach issue which I thought began from a lego incident but now I am questioning it. If you want a specific animal and you have no choice but to go to the pet store by all means go get a pet. If you do not have a specific pet in mind go to a repeatable breeder.

It will take you a few minutes, but might not regret reading what we are dealing with by purchasing a sick puppy from Petland Pembroke Pines. Petland Pembroke Pines sold us a sick puppy. Within TWO days of purchasing the puppy, we took him to the vet for a wellness check; he was diagnosed with parasite, ear infection, found to be underweight, and excessive coughing. Petland of Pembroke Pines states they provided a heath certificate which indicates the puppy was fit for sale. When purchased on 12/20/2025 health certificate provided was dated 12/11/2025. This means the puppy was under Petland Pembroke Pines for eight days prior to us purchasing. Furthermore, Petland Pembroke Pines says and I quote "Licensed, independent veterinarian visits the store weekly to examine their puppies " if these puppies are health checked weekly as Petland Pembroke Pines replied to my complaint, I'm sure these licensed independent veterinarian provide the store with a health certificate indicating health conditions. I asked Petland Pembroke Pines to provide us with health certificate for the puppy between dates 12/11 - 12/19 for the 8 days under their care. Petland Pembroke Pines have never send such health certificate. I submitted complaint with BBB, FDACS, Humane World for Animals. Petland Pembroke Pines' rest to my complaint on BBB is that i'm being hostile towards them. I give my permission or will sign and document giving the right to Petland Pembroke Pines to make public my emails and show where at any point I'm being hostile! We paid lots of money for the puppy; we never expected the puppy's health to be in such poor condition as the veterinarian found him to be. Obviously, I'm upset (with reason) how much Petland Pembroke Pines charged to sell us a sick puppy. Since veterinarian diagnostic, my wife, 4-year-old daughter and I had been enduring personal and emotional distress due to Petland selling customers like me who believed them to be reputable pet stores to find out they sell puppies from puppy mills as indicated by an investigation from Humane World for Animals. Below reply to my complaint submitted to Humane World of Animal "Unfortunately, Petland is particularly notorious for selling sick puppies from puppy mills. See our numerous Petland investigations here: www.humaneworld.org/petland I advised Petland Pembroke Pines on Humane World of Animals investigation. Their response to me was; all Petland's are independently owned, and investigation does not mention Pembroke Pines location. Just like any other independently owned franchise, all Petland's operate under the Petland brand. When submitting my complaint to Humane World for Animal s, I specifically mentioned the Pembroke Pines location. Their reply was a link to investigation on Petland. As mentioned, my family, especially my 4-year-old daughter have been dealing with this situation since purchasing the puppy on December 20th, 2025. It was our gift to our daughter. Based on provided report www.humaneworld.org/petland ; Petland is the largest retailer of puppy mill dogs, and while the company claims their puppies come only from reputable breeders and are in good health, Humane World for Animals prove otherwise. I urged you to visit this website www.humaneworld.org/petland before going into one of these Petland locations. In my case there is nothing I can due about my situation, we just must deal with it and continue spending a lot of money trying to get our puppy in good health. I hope I can help someone else not go through my personal experience with Petland Pembroke Pines

At Breeder Luis Gonzalez's location a puppy was found "lethargic and cold to the touch," another dog was underweight with his ribs and spine showing; the facility had over 500 dogs." I am beyond outraged by the inhumane and negligent treatment of these animals at Forever Love Puppies in Pembroke Park. We purchased two puppies: a 3-month-old Chihuahua and a 2-month-old Pomeranian. They came home sick. No family should ever experience the fear and financial burden of bringing home a puppy only to find out it is already ill. The so-called "complimentary" veterinary visit that this store "gifts" buyers to use is completely misleading. Our puppies were never examined by a veterinarian, yet we were assured by a staff assistant that they were "perfect" without any tests or physical examination. Side note on this fraud of a clinic: When I walked out of the examination room, there was a dead dog on the bench next to a lady in the waiting room. Such a level of unprofessionalism or disrespect is unbelievable. The attendant called someone to "come get the body". Didn't offer a room for the lady to grieve and choose the urn made her pay and choose in front of everyone with her dead dog on the bench behind her. Days later, our Chihuahua puppy ended up in the emergency room severely dehydrated with signs of Ataxia, a neurological symptom. The result? Over $1,200 in emergency veterinary bills and weeks of emotional distress, all of which could have been avoided with proper care and honest medical screening. We were told that a simple fecal test would have immediately detected Giardia. That basic test was never performed, even though the paperwork states otherwise. We took our boys to our private veterinarian, and both were diagnosed with Giardia. Even more disturbing is the breeder listed on our paperwork. A quick search reveals serious public concerns tied to this breeder. When we looked up the address ourselves using publicly available satellite imagery, the location appears to be a barn-like structure with no visible evidence of adequate shelter or proper housing facilities. At the time, temperatures were around 32 degrees. The thought of vulnerable puppies being housed and possibly transported in those conditions is horrifying. The fact that this store continues to source from breeders surrounded by red flags demonstrates either a shocking lack of due diligence or a complete disregard for animal welfare and consumer protection. There is also a publicly available news report involving the owner's son, Larry Master, which every potential buyer should watch before considering a purchase. Reports and documentation show that puppies are transported in freezing temperatures, with hundreds crammed into trucks and distributed to pet stores across the country. These are living, breathing animals, not merchandise, not inventory, not commodities. This entire experience was irresponsible, unethical, and deeply disturbing. If you care about animal welfare, please do your research. Seek out truly reputable, transparent breeders or consider adoption. No puppy deserves to suffer for the sake of profit, and no family deserves to bring home heartbreak instead of joy. https://www.miaminewtimes.com/news/lawsuits-forever-love-puppies-accused-of-selling-sick-dogs-11711531/

PETCO vs PET SUPERMARKET…read more Big difference immediately between the two pet stores. The Pet Supermarket felt exactly like the name, a big nothing unique pet store with several aisles of various inventory. The Petco surprisingly had many sections that mimicked an amusement park theme providing a pet shopping adventure instead of a common pet store. Upon entry they had a small carriage full of custom doggy treats for sale in a variety of flavors. In addition to endless bundles of dry food including a cooler loaded with gourmet healthy option called Just For Dogs and Just For Cats, but be prepared to pay the piper from $10.99 - $44.95. The flavors vary including Venison Squash and Turkey & Whole Wheat Macaroni. The Petco Zoo was my favorite section with live rabbits, hamsters, ferrets and fish amonst many other pet options. The prices at Petco seem to be in line with other retail pet stores who continue to deal with the behemoth Amazon at every turn. Fortunately, this store provided a fun shopping experience which Amazon cannot. They offer a Vetco total care veterinary hospital for your pet's health needs. In addition, this store provides a full service grooming area that includes washing, nails, and tick care. Also, cats are available in store for adoption and dog adoptions from a Hollywood location called We Love Animals Rescue Inc.

I've just lost one of my guinea pigs recently and came to the store looking for another. I called for the employee named March if I can hold the baby guinea pig. Unfortunately, the baby was female which wasn't what I was looking for and I put the piggie back in it's enclosure. I walked around the store for a while browsing the products and admiring the selection of fish, however, as I circled back I was reconsidering getting the female pig. I asked March if I may hold her again, but she responded snappily in a raised, rude tone "I can't be there all day are you gonna buy it or not?". It honestly discouraged me from the purchase and I felt ashamed and embarrassed. I decided this wasn't an appropriate response and approached the manager, Johan on March's service. I'd be fine if there was a policy or if it was properly explained that that they can't take animals out much, however, he immediately jumped to March's defense and made excuses such as she must've been busy attending customers (in which there was only two others being attended by another younger female employee. The store was empty and she was walking around aimlessly), that I was walking around (I do not understand what browsing the store has to do with having a feel for a guinea pig), and that I held the guinea pig a couple times in which I only held one piggie each to determine their temperament (there were only two). This interaction wasn't enjoyable and I felt the manager did not care. I feel the store has gone down in quality of the years and it's disheartening to see. I will not be coming back!

We took the "shih tzu" to the vet for a routine check and our vet told us by no means is this puppy a purebred shih tzu and advised us to do a reputable dna test like wisdom panel or embark testing. We ordered the wisdom panel a reputable dna test that is 98% effective and discovered The puppy is mixed with seven breeds and is 51% bichon Frise and only %28 shih tzu. We Drove two hours south with my family on my birthday for a puppy we were told was a purebred and is actually a mixed breed. He came with registration papers but that means nothing because the commercial breeder can easily lie and say any puppy is the offspring of whatever 100 plus parents they own out in the midwest. We Spoke to associate in their store to share the dna test we discovered and explained how upset we were about it and she blew us off we asked to speak to the owners and they said they wouldn't talk to us . Manager wouldn't get on the phone just sent us a text message and wouldn't even get on the phone to resolve the issue just blew us off in text and wouldn't help us after we sent her the dna results of our puppy being mixed with seven different breeds and being 51% bichon frise when he is supposed to be a purebred shih tzu! After them not trying to help us we decided to leave a review because of the scam and we with conscience want other customers not to fall prey to this because it's just wrong. The store didn't want to make it right and they misrepresented the breed. After reporting the store to the usda the store then decided they want to give us what we previously asked us for which is a refund But with dangerous terms that protect them and could potentially hurt us the innocent customer they wronged. the store they want us to sign a lawyer document to keep our mouths shut and remove our truthful review and that if they suspect that someone is reviewing them badly and that they think it is us that they will sue us! We are the victims here and we will not be signing their document because we don't want to be wrongfully and accused by these people to get what they rightfully owe us which is a refund. After reporting them to the usda they had to take all of their puppies to the vet to get rechecked and get new health certificates because they were not working with usda accredited vet. I would recommend not buying a puppy from them because they aren't transparent and want to play victim when they are misrepresenting breeds and ultimately lying to customers. I have all the documentation and proof of the puppy not being purebred and documentation from the USDA of the complaint.
