We had a 10 am appointment today September 16 2025 for LOOPER for a bath and a comb out,,,,,we traveled 2 hours specifically for this appointment. At 1 pm we go to pick LOOPER up and she has not even been bathed as of yet. They then suggested we leave LOOPER for an additional 3 hours at our expense. Needless to say we don't recommend this place and will not be back Pat and Karili Dailey and LOOPER Chester Montana Ps. We had our dog boarded here with their VIP package for a week and they segregated him from all of the other dogs and did nothing but complain and treat him awful while he was their. He had no play or outing times as he should have went out 4 or 5 times a day with the VIP price I paid per night. Then when we picked our dog up the guy was VERY rude and complained about my dog the entire time. They also overcharged us by 30$ and when I called to ask why I was overcharged he said because my dog was BAD and in Tact still. Which is completely wrong and against the law as they knew before his boarding that he was NOT fixed. Very poor service I won't ever take my dog back their and wouldn't recommend them to anyone in or around town. Such disappointing service. Paying top dollar for my dog to be treated like shit. read more

It's never easy to board your dogs, but Happy Tails Lodge does a great job at taking care of our family members. We have a chihuahua and a Taiwanese mountain dog with two very different personalities--the chihuahua wants to be cuddled by humans all the time and the mountain dog wants nothing to do with human strangers (but he loves playing with other dogs)! Prior to a 5 day trip I bathed my 11 year old wiener dog Vienna and took her to Happy Tails Lodge. Paid the $26/per day fee and left her in the care of Happy Tails. Upon my return I paid up the fee and they called for Vienna over their paging system. While waiting, I asked the employee what kind of dry food would be best for an eleven year old wiener dog. The employee came around the counter and asked what she was being fed presently. I couldn't think of the name of the dog food I was using and it was about that time that they brought Vienna out. My dog was shaking and soaked in dried dog urine. Her fur was matted in the stuff and she was REEKING of old dog urine. I had to hold her away from my clothing because she was filthy. I couldn't even speak and just walked outside to the truck with my dog. In the truck she was like another dog. I tried to pet her.. she shied away. We went home immediately and she had a bath twice. This was yesterday. Today she's sick, dry nose breathing heavier than usual and I have to carry her outside because she doesn't want to move. If she's not better by morning we will be going to the vet. She was supposed to be walked 3 times each day. So its likely that she was not walked and had to sleep in her own urine. (this seems unlikely because there was even urine stuck to the top of her head. The other possibility was that she was kept with other dogs and larger dogs who urinated on her. I started taking my dog here because she was nearing a year and did not know how to be a dog. I never even thought that I should have done that. I hadn't had a puppy in years. I was a mini pig owner. My dog is a Doberman, and she is glued to me 24/7, she don't let me out of her site, but, when I take her to Daycare, Steve will rub her tummy, and she won't listen to anything I say to her. No 'come' she is perfectly content to stay right where she is, It made me feel some sort of way at first, but, if I were to listen to my dog, and ask if she likes going there, I think her actions show a resounding YES! When she wants to stay and let Steve rub her tummy, rather then come with me, I know my dog is in good hands, It's nice to find someone who loves your animal like you do. As long as she is happy, she will continue to go, I highly recommend Happy Tails Lodge for my dog, and any other person who needs a little push to answer weather you dog is at the right place, My dog says yes, every single time. I have brought my dogs here for boarding about 7-8 times now and have never had any issues. Steve, I believe is the manager, is great! He's very responsive via text and sends me pictures when the dogs have a lengthy stay. My dogs always seem happy to go and happy to be picked up, I have no complaints! I was nervous at first because of old reviews years ago but I think the place must be under new management, I have never had any issues. read more

I am very pleased to sense that Al (Allie) considers going to Happy Tails as a real treat. The staff at Happy Tails staff is very good to her which Is apparent because when she enters Happy Tail's door, she excitedly gives the welcoming staff a an endless bunch of kisses, which only dog people appreciate. Furthermore, I also appreciate that the staff matches her up with others dogs that she is comfortable and excited to play with. From time to time when we go out of town for the day we think Al would like to go with us but having put her in day care for one of our day outings, we have come to the conclusion that she much prefers to go to Happy Tails to play with her old and new buddies. I recommend Happy Tails to everyone! I originally went to Happy Tails for dog food, because I wanted to switch my dogs to a higher quality food. I wasn't sure what I was looking for but the staff helped me pick one and my picky eater LOVES it! I have boarded at other places and my female is always skinnier and can't leave fast enough when I pick them up. That was not the case here, she was happy and hadn't lost weight. My dogs were also given a bath before I picked them up and they smelt and looked amazing! The facility is clean and safe and the staff is very helpful. We recently boarded our 9 month old lab for 4 nights "VIP+" and daycare ($215), when we picked him up there was no one in front with the daycare dogs, and he was not in the daycare area or the VIP rooms. At 1:15pm no dogs were outside. The girl in front who accepted our money said some of the dogs were in a "BARN" in back and that all employees were downstairs. This drew a red flag immediately. When they brought my dog up he was excited as always and appeared in good health. We headed to the car and absolutely refused to get in his crate!! He also sounded like he had "laryngitis", 24 hours later he does not have his voice back. We called happy tails and requested to speak with the manager to discuss his treatment, she was currently busy so I left a message for her to return. We still have received a return phone call and can only assume the "VIP" treatment we paid for was received???!! Conditions we are concerned about: * Dog lost "voice" * paid for daycare he was not in on pickup * Barn in back--we paid for "VIP+" !!!! * NO return phone call from manager??? * dog and bed reeked of urine (supposed be let outside 4-5 times per day, and hours of daycare) We have been boarding at Happy tails off and on for 11 years, with very good treatment that seems to have waned in the past 4 years. With this last experience we will never come back and we will share this experience WITH EVERYONE we know. read more

Have been using grooming service here for some time now and had fair to good grooms for our Carne Terrier. Today was the worst groom I have ever seen on any dog breed. Specific instructions were given to cut exactly as in the past and DO NOT shave the coat short anywhere on the dog. The end result was a totally shaved dog except for the head which was partially trimmed and very poorly. Head looked like done by 5 year old with scissors. They still charge $45 for a groom that looks nothing like a Carne. She is almost bald. I have been told they have a grooming school and if this what they are producing as groomers we could do better taking our dogs to the School For the Deaf and Blind. If a student did this I should have been told and they should pay me to bring my dog in. I asked to speak to owner and manager has not complied with my request. I want to know who the groomer was and does that person have a license. I will be contacting the state. read more

We were tired of our regular boarding place because of the small, cramped cages and paved "play" area. So we decided to give Happy Tales Lodge a try for our long trip over the 4th of July instead. What a difference! Large living quarters, big play yards with nice green grass (this is especially important to us because our boy refuses to go potty on pavement). Convenient store on site. When we came back from our trip, our boy was happy and relaxed. It is really satisfying to go on a trip knowing our boy is in good hands and a comfortable environment. We'll be back! read more

Worst service I have ever experienced anywhere. My daughter and I took her 1 year old miniature Dachshund into this place to have his nails clipped. They took him to the back right away while we filled out the paperwork. Suddenly, we hear him yelp and cry as if they're poking and prodding him. The employee watching the front desk tells us not to worry. A minute later two employees come out with our dog saying they couldn't clip him because he wouldn't let them. They had a rope around his neck. We had him on a leash when they took him back. They told us he pooped and peed and wouldn't let them put a muzzle on him, yet somehow they got a rope around his neck. They charged us $10 for nothing, even after I held him out front while they tried again. My daughter and I tried to calm him down by telling him it'll be all right, but the employees condescendingly told us not to encourage him or tell him it's alright. We will never, ever return to this place and will actively tell everyone we know to stay away, far away. read more

Went and took a tour of the place before deciding to board my 7 month old lab. I was impressed w/the VIP room and it was clean. Only thing about any boarding facility is that our dogs can't talk and tell us exactly what went on while we were away. Once I got my lab home after 2 nights of boarding, she was thirsty and drank allot of water - that concerned me. She was also very active and acted like she had not played at all. I'm assuming it was the "owner" of Happy Tails that checked us out when we arrived since she was an older lady - I thought she was rude and very unprofessional. My son had also boarded his lab with ours so when we came to pick up our labs, there was 6 of us: 4 adults and 2 children. Comment was made that there was allot of people to come to pick up a dog/dogs: strike 1 w/me. The lady was cold and not friendly at all. She had a phone call come in as she was checking us out. As soon as she was finished getting my money and we were on our way she said: "Now I can get back to my phone call." Was that really necessary to say? Like we inconvenienced her. Based on how the owner acted, I will NOT be taking my dog back there. She never said "Thank You" and also asked if we had a "punch card". IF she had been paying attention, she would of known that neither dog had ever been boarded there, we had mentioned several times before boarding them that this was their first time to ever be boarded anywhere. F&L will get our business if we ever decide to board our dog again however, I'm going to try my hardest to avoid that from ever happening again. read more
