There is nothing that can describe the views from this villa. They are fantastic. Looking across…read morethe valley and then down to the sea. This is sometimes advertised on http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk . It can be booked up quite early. We were fortunate to get it due to a cancellation. The pool has a slide, which will keep the kids amused for hours, and even more if you have friends with Children staying nearby and who can visit. Pool table, plus table tennis in the double garage. Next to the garage is badminton court. Miles Turner looks after the place on behalf of a couple who live in UK. Most of the gardens are terraced as you are on the side of a mountain or very big hill. You'll see lots of rabbits on the "mountain" road, note: hairpin bends. If you are really lucky, as we were on the last night, see some wild boar. The villa is well equipped. Also a separate dining room, which has spetacular views; once you open the patio style doors. There's long driveway leading to the villa and an open area thatb will accommodate several cars. In the centre of the villa is a seating area with a glass roof. This has a canopy that is pulled across to provide shade. Nice quite area away from the lounge. However, all the rooms lead off this area. All the rooms have ceiling fans with the exception of the kitchen, and the central "atrium". The slight downside of the place is the bathrooms. They're a bit dated, and could do with a bit of modernising. Once had part of the shower door off, and needed repairing, but this wasn't managed in the fortnight we were there.... These are minor things, and didn't spoil the holiday. Good shaded areas outside, and plenty of loungers, perhaps could do with more than 4 cushions for the loungers. I like the idea that some things are left in the cupboards to use, and replenish when you can, rather than arriving and the cupboards are bare. One of the best touches is that there are plenty of towels, and ones that you would classify as beach towels for use around the pool. This saved a bit of weight in the luggage. Miles is a nice chap, and speaks fluent Spanish; which is a help if you have forgotten that favourite phrase book. I think that some of the places to eat, and the comments are a bit dated. Nevertheless, good suggestions. They could do with creating a library scheme, i.e. take a book leave a book, this starts to create a rotation, and a variety. This worked well at a villa we stayed at near Calpe. See my review about "Casa Dryllig". The hotel is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and has a simple yet elegant design. Our room was modern but with white traditional stone walls, sleek fixtures, and a really cozy feel. The bed was super comfortable, and we loved having tea, coffee, a minibar, and plenty of closet space, all those thoughtful touches made a big difference. The bathroom was spotless and had everything new and shiny, including a great towel warmer and a separate shower and toilet, We had huge windows with a beautiful view of a plaza full of restaurants surrounded by palm trees and also the mountain, but thanks to the blackout curtains and great soundproofing, it was totally peaceful inside even though it was so lively outside. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Alicante's old town. Step outside and you're surrounded by restaurants, souvenir shops, ice cream places, and lovely plazas. We honestly didn't want to leave! What really made our stay special, though, was the amazing customer service. Everyone at the front desk was kind and welcoming, but a special shoutout to Miss Judit, who went above and beyond for us. She helped us check in early when my kids weren't feeling well, and was incredibly sweet and helpful from the moment we spoke on the phone. They prepared the room with little plush bears for the kids, and the sofa bed was set up and ready, such a thoughtful touch! Everything was set up perfectly, from the kettle with tea to the robes and slippers. We felt truly welcomed and comfortable from the moment we arrived. If you're heading to Alicante, we 100% recommend staying here. It was one of the best hotel experiences we've had in Europe so far and we'd go back in a heartbeat!

This is equally a well used hotel by spainish guests and their children, and has a Flintstone theme with organised games and activities. Obviously it has a very Spanish selection with loads of salads, fish, rices & off course my favourite, paella. As we were AI, we had serve yourself White Red Rose Wine & Sangria, Larger & all the pop & fresh juices you could ask for. There was also for the plane eaters plenty of Chips Sausages etc. Ice cream fresh sliced fruit & Spanish sweet stuff fir afters, only problem I sensed was my waist size our room was large with a 40" TV, furniture was a bit dated but other rooms on our floor were updated during our stay. The entertainment at night was first class, high quality stuff with also live English & Spanish football shown in large screen areas. I really enjoyed our stay, we even saw a few of the actors from the TV show Benidorm as they were filming the new series during our stay, but you don't get near the area of the set! Just one word of warning, this hotel has 14 floors! So if you don't like heights you must make that clear when booking. We were on the 9th overlooking the Ocas hotel & pool area and that was high enough for me Overall highly recommend the Sol Pelicanos

The beds and towels were changed daily. There's a safe located inside the wardrobe, this costs €1.50 a night (see staff on the front desk for activation). We stayed half board, the breakfast and evening meals were à la carte and of a high standard. Breakfast consisted of a continental style, toast, rolls, baguettes, croissants etc or eggs, sausages, bacon, beans etc. The evening meals were themed each night and consisted of a good choice of main dishes, salads etc. The pool is quite large and spotlessly clean. The sun loungers are a little packed in and congested around the pool but we always managed to find three going spare. There was entertainment most nights which consisted of a Spanish style two or three piece band playing outside, poolside. Underground parking is quite expensive at approximately €10 a night. Parking outside on the street is congested. The wifi is free but very slow. The location of the Hotel is just a five minutes stroll to the old town and in my opinion the best part of Benidorm. We found the staff to be very friendly, polite and helpful. Everything is of a high standard, clean and modern. I really can't fault this place and will certainly be returning next year.

One of the owners, Wayne, provides cabaret virtually every evening in the ground floor bar and there are also other good acts to watch. Prices are reasonable, the staff delightful and the atmosphere is always friendly. Restaurant and bars fully airconditioned. Adjoining the Queens is the Beer Barrel, also owned by them. Nope. The shower drain didn't drain well and flooded the bathroom. There was no tissue, no washcloths, no usb ports, and the soundproofing left a lot to be desired. We had booked a two night stay but left after the first night. Unfortunately we couldn't get a refund but the hotel experience was so unpleasant we really couldn't imagine staying another night.

Why on Earth would anyone make coffee in the room surrounded by places making some of the nicest coffees we've had in a long time. We had a fridge which was put to great use and the air con was top notch. The bed was cosy the view was fabulous. The breakfast choices were pretty good. Like all hotels the coffee could be better but it was fine for machines - we are just very fussy. The scrambled egg was delicious. We mention it as often this is dried out or cold in many hotels. The mushrooms were real tasty too - scrambled was available daily but mushrooms were now and again. If you have a sweet tooth there are plenty of sweet treats, jams, honey, cakes, biscuits. It's been a long time since I saw Marie biscuits. The ladies cleaning the rooms do a real good job. The staff are friendly and courteous but can be under a tad of pressure at times at breakfast. The bar staff make ace cocktails on 26th floor and the views are stunning. I only had credit card and wanted to tip at the bar but it wasn't straightforward using a card. The only thing we found tedious was having to wait on the lifts but it was occasional. You need a key card to work the lift or you're going nowhere. The lift on the right as you face them goes to 26 floor but the one on the left stops at 25. We are likely to return. If you want to buy some essentials go out the front door and turn left immediately - you'll be walking away from the sea. There's a supermarket on the same side of the street about 1/2 minutes Suma I think. They'll rip you off. Keep walking uphill you'll see a KFC and a Five Guys and when you get near the top by the main road on the right hand side there's an excellent home bakery with a good supermarket next door. Across the main road is the stunning huge meat, fish and vegetable market - Mercado. Looks like the entrance to a train station. Bombon Boss cafes are excellent coffee stops.

The beach itself, is within easy walking distance. The room was quite small and the elevators - all two of them - were small and inadequate for a 23 or 24 story building. Breakfast buffet was adequate for the price. The hotel staff spoke excellent English and were friendly. I especially appreciated them letting me e-mail documents to them for printing. If you are traveling on a budget and want to be close or on the Mediterranean, this is a good choice. I would actually rate this hotel about a 3 1/2.
