Unfortunately, I have to say yes as it is the only game in town when it comes to fuel in Avalon Harbor. Great folks EXCEPT when they go to lunch at whatever time they want and don't even bother to put a " will be back by (time) sign. No fun waiting while tied up against a pilling. We love coming to Cat Harbor with our family - much less crowded than the Isthmus and you can really get away from it all. We've been to Two Harbors 4 times now. It's a beautiful spot with all sorts of opportunities for recreation and different coves to visit. Isthmus Harbor Patrol is always incredibly gracious, professional, and helpful. We are pretty new to the boating world and are still trying to master the fundamentals. When we came in the first time, I'm sure we sounded as green as anyone. We explained this was our first time and we weren't sure exactly how to obtain or tie off to a mooring. The shore boat met us on the way in, guided us to the right mooring, and then talked us through getting tied off in an incredibly helpful and gracious way. read more

We hired Two Harbor Dept to take us to Emerald Bay from Two Harbors and pick us up the next day and they completely forgot about us!! We had to wait for 1 hour in Emerald Bay (where there is no other alternative company to hire, or things to do) and then they denied us a refund or any kind of credit. This was an incredible poor service and lack of Customer Service. Do not hire this company, they are not to trust. During the wait, we had to call multiple times to the harbor, and left voice mails that were not returned. When someone finally picked up the phone, that person seemed puzzled about our request, she finally validated that we indeed had a reservation to be picked up and told us she would send someone "right away". It was clear on this conversation that the delay was due to poor service and nothing else. This people are not to trust. read more

These are very helpful and skilled people who work very hard and seem to care about making your stay enjoyable and Two Harbors. One of my favorites is Harbor Tom. I read the posting about Emerald Bay. YOU NEED TO CALL THE TWO HARBORS HARBOR DEPARTMENT ON VHF CHANNEL 9. HAVE YOUR CF OR DOC # READY BEFORE YOU CALL FOR A MOORING. Someone is always monitoring VHF channel 9. Don't expect shore boat service to and from Emerald Bay. If you want shore boat service, stay at the Isthmus. The harbor department patrol people have saved me a few times when I have single handed my boat over and helped me pick up my mooring. They are also involved in saving large expensive boats from smashing into each other several times per day. Be nice to them. If they help you with your boat, give them a tip. Give them a cup of coffee, offer them food/drink when you see them come by. You never know when you will really need them. The Two Harbors harbor people are way better than the Harbor People at Avalon. They are very accommodative in trying to find you a better mooring if you give them some time to hunt around for one. Be very careful about the depth and tides if you own a sailboat and you are mooring in Cherry Cove or 4th of July cove. Don't hot rod around the mooring area. Go slow. Most of the time, you can still get a great mooring, even on a busy weekend if you go 1-2 days and advance. In general, tie your mooring lines on the side as the rest of the pack on your row. Exception: sometimes the moorings are not evenly spaced and you will need to tie your mooring line on the side closest to the nearest boat. I learned this the hard way. Ask for assistance in advance before you need it. You will be happier. read more
