I wanted to share my recent experience with Woodcraft because it's been frustrating and…read moredisappointing. On March 21, I placed an order for a 19-38 Drum Sander and Infeed/Outfeed Tables. Woodcraft charged me $165 in shipping, and I was told everything would arrive in 7-14 business days. A few days later, I learned the sander was backordered for at least a couple of weeks--yet they'd already charged me the full shipping cost. Then, not long after, Woodcraft sent out a promotional email advertising free shipping on the exact item. My main item still hadn't shipped, but there was no offer to adjust or refund my shipping charges. I contacted Woodcraft's Customer Service, hoping they'd make this right. Unfortunately, I haven't received a satisfactory response or a refund on the shipping fee. It feels like they're charging me for something that could've qualified for free shipping if I had placed my order just a bit later--or if they had been upfront about upcoming promotions. I'm posting this so others can learn from my experience. If you plan on placing an order with Woodcraft, consider asking about upcoming promotions or clarifying shipping policies ahead of time. I really hope Woodcraft addresses this and improves how they handle backorders and promotions in the future.

I needed a lumber yard with an online presence, and one that also catered to the small order/hobbyist customer. Woodcraft stood out above the rest. The website is wonderfully informative. Clean layout, crisp product photos, a history of the woods' origins, information on how it performs as you work with it, and plenty of ways to contact the company if you need any type of assistance at all. I was lucky too in receiving free shipping for my order since items I ordered could be prohibitively expensive to ship otherwise (for my budget). Best, it processed, shipped, and arrived in *two days*. My giftee shared a photo of what he received. Every piece is beautifully turned out and ready for his time and talents. Based on my very positive experience here, I'll be a future customer for sure, and highly recommend Woodcraft to all. Thanks again for helping me pull off this surprise.

This was the worst delivery and installation experience I have ever had…read more 1. The ChatBox time estimates were wrong. It was first stated as being at about 1:05pm. The crew actually arrived closer to 2pm. Not a huge problem. But don't offer a service that is this undependable. 2. When the crew arrived to replace our old dishwasher the crew leader informed us that they couldn't do the install because we were supposed to have the old one disconnected from water and power before they arrived. No one told us that. They eventually decided to disconnect our old one and proceed. 3. They said they couldn't install the new one because they needed to secure it with bolts that screwed into the countertop! The countertop is quartz (like many others) so that was not an option. I told him that the new one had screw openings inside the front door that allowed the unit to be screwed into the wood cabinets on either side of the unit. He said it did not. I went to his truck and showed him clearly where they were. 4. Then he said: we can't install it because our old one was hard-wired to the electric and they could only install ones that plugged in. Again I told him, that no one at Big Sandy had said anything about that. He called his supervisor who told him that, yes, he could connect it to the hard wired circuits. I had the electricity turned off to make sure this could be done safely. 5. At some point, he or his assistant connected the drain hose from the new unit to our drain hose that goes to the garbage disposal and drain. Much later I found out that they had not tightened that and it leaked a lot of water. I had to tighten that to correct their error. 6. Finally he said they couldn't install it because the new 6-foot water supply hose would not reach, even though the old dishwasher had used that exact length. He said we would need one about 10 feet long. (As far as I know, no one makes one that long.) 7. At this point, it was determined that this install crew could not do the install. As they were finishing up to leave, they put wire nuts on the bare exposed electrical wires from the house, that would have been used to connect to the new dishwasher. After we decided to get an electrician to install the dishwasher, we found that most of the kitchen outlets were inoperable and kept tripping a GFI on a wall outlet. For nearly two days we had no cooktop, trash compactor or handy wall outlet, in addition to having a dishwasher standing, disconnected in the middle of our kitchen. The electrician showed us how the "installers" put the ground wire inside one of the wire nuts with one of the hot lines! If they knew THAT LITTLE about electricity, I was glad that they had finally found an excuse NOT to install the unit. (Photo attached.) This install crew (from Zeke Home Improvement or some such name) did not want to be here from the minute they stepped into our house. I can only assume they are paid by the JOB and not by the HOUR and are only interested in doing quick in-outs. They were not qualified, equipped or interested in doing what was needed. We had to hire a professional electrician to come and do what they could not.
