Charming cafe in the northern part of downtown Oceanside. Close to several of the economy hotels in that area, so an inexpensive breakfast/brunch spot that I'd highly recommend for any tourists staying in that area who are in hotels that have no or minimal breakfast options. Serving generous and healthier breakfast, brunch, and lunch fare. This cafe is located along PCH, about a mile or less from the beach. It has ample free parking, which is not particularly common along the main drag of Oceanside. Plenty of comfortable booths inside, as well as a small covered nook that could be used for outdoor service. The decor inside was a bit dated (think mid-70's era); however, the cafe was kept tidy and I didn't see any obvious signs of wear and tear. Just looked like an old-fashioned diner spot but quite well-maintained. The food is tasty and value-priced. Just a tad on the higher side of "value" but still a great value at between $10-$15/ea for most entrees. I had the Denver omelette (diced ham, onions, and bell pepper with jack cheese) for $13 and added sliced avocado for $1.50 more. Instead of the typical side choices (house potatoes or hash browns), I went with sautéed spinach (very cool to have that as a standard side option!). As you'll see in the attached picture, the food portions were quite generous and they did not skimp on either the quality or the quantity of the ingredients. Everything tasted fresh, especially the spinach - which was prepped perfectly (green and not overly-doused in oil or butter). This entree also comes with a bread choice (I went with an English muffin). Walked away completely full and that meal, candidly, will probably be enough to keep me satiated throughout the day. My server was attentive and kept my drink filled throughout. I also placed a to-go order, which the server timed perfectly. She waited until my meal was finished before putting in my to-go order. She closed out my ticket and completed charging my credit card just before the to-go order was brought out (enabling me to leave as soon as the to-go bag was delivered). Would give 0 stars if I could first when we had to wait 30 minutes and we where fine with that we get some places can get busy but when it was finally our turn to get seated we asked for a booth but they said we couldn't have it we finally came up and got a booth they took our drink orders and it took them 10 minutes to get drinks again we get it can be busy but 10 minutes for drinks? The service was horrible our waiter checked up on us just once during the whole time there food was cold when we got it because it was sitting under the lamps for I'm not kidding a whole hour this place needed to pick up the paste and get things together also it was very cold in there if you do plan on eating here I highly advise you not to unless you got 3+hours to spare read more

Horrible service. Our food sat there and we were informed by an employee that it was just sitting there and all they did was microwave it. We came for a late breakfast. It was still pretty busy as we waited about 40 minutes for a table. The real wait however was when we were sat. We waited at least 20 minutes to have our order taken and another 45 minutes for our food to come! We ordered breakfast food as well; food that is generally very quick to cook. We read the reviews and should have known better but we decided to give it a chance. The toast was burnt and when I asked for some that wasn't they took the toast and returned with more burnt toast. What a great find! Met family here for breakfast today. My first time at this restaurant. Love the vibe of the place....beachy murals on the wall, very relaxed. Noticed one of the sides on the menu was sauteed spinach along with fruit, tomatoes, two types of potatoes, selection of toasts, biscuit or coffee cake! I had the omlette with chile and cheese, home fried potatoes and coffee cake. Delicious! Someone ordered the Belgian waffle with fruit and whipped cream...WOW! Fabulous presentation. The eggs benedict looked great. The plain ole pancakes with butter, side of eggs and sausage/bacon. Well, those pancakes took up the whole plate and they were so fluffly looking! We were seated at a dirty table. I thought they would clean but we had to ask them to do it. They came with a dripping rag and left the table completely wet. They proceeded to place the silverware and napkin on the wet table. Should have left then. Horrible food. Ordered fish and chips. Tasted like it was fried with old burnt oil. Over cooked to the point it was hard to bite through the batter. I returned it and asked to have it taken of the bill. They never asked what was wrong with it or if they could redo it or if I wanted anything else. My family and I stopped at Harbor House for brunch on our way to San Diego. The Service from Diego and staff was amazing! Diego went out of his way to make us feel welcome and well taken care of. This place was solid I would like to come back and try other menu items! First off, the atmosphere is super fun and feels like a little diner. It's in a beach town so it's super cute! The açaí bowl with really yummy I would definitely order it again. We got the chorizo and eggs and it was a good amount of meat to egg ratio. We also got the pigs in a blanket. If I could give the kitchen staff five stars I would but since their manager is unorganized and mainly the cause of poor service this place gets two stars. Positive: Our to go food was good and still fresh by the time we got to eat it. The kitchen staff definitely busted their ass pumping out orders and throwing in our order that was missed by their manager. Negative: Great manager and owners jump in and help their staff so a business can be successful. They don't place blame on others or Verizon in our case for not getting notified of orders. Normally I call in orders but their website said they prefer online orders so that's what I did. Our order was never sent to the kitchen until we arrived. The manager's sister wanted to defend her sister's ego instead of just helping out the restaurant. Yes, this establishment has good food... when it arrives. If I could give O stars I would. The waitress was the best part of the whole experience. With that being said, the potatoes for my mom and sister's meals tasted like they were fried in OLD oil. My family (2 adults and 1 child) and I brought our dog - pet friendly- and sat outside (no problem). Service and atmosphere were superb but my lunch was lacking flavor. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. I use to make them for a living and I am from Philly. The meat was well done and had no added juice or flavoring to make the sandwich juicy. A Philly sandwich is made with cherry peppers and has some spice to it. This lacked any flavor, There should have been a crusty italian roll, but thus one was soft. I wish I could teach the cook to make this treat. read more

Ultimately, this is ok, decently priced diner-like food. It's nothing fancy, hardly anything that you probably couldn't make yourself (for breakfast), but one of those places that's nice to go if you got a late start on your day or you're road tripping down/up to San Diego/LA and want to grab a quick bite. I had a simple two egg breakfast and my lady had the biggest omelette I've ever seen for the price. With my over medium eggs, hash browns, and sourdough toast, I was certainly satisfied, but it wasn't anything to really get excited about.
