So we found this place about a week or so ago trying to change things up a little. We really enjoyed it because the food was good and the people were nice and the restaurant was very clean and cool. Harbor has the potential to be a fun dining spot as the staff was great and the decor was energizing. The food was quite mediocre though, aside from the Cajun fries which were top notch. The egg rolls were bland, ramen noodles were average, but the pork bulgogi was weird. It seemed like they put a lot of seasoning on it but it got cakey and just had a weird taste. I could have sent it back and got something else of course, but it wasn't terrible just not as good as other bulgogis I've had. While I appreciated the variety and affordability, the food quality was all over the board. Despite being mildly busy during dinner, service was friendly and fast with the exception of the boil itself. =ORDERED= *Cajun Fries: crispy, hot and seasoned well. Top tier fries and I could have eaten a few portions alone. *Clam Chowder: honestly the worst I've ever had. Incredibly watery and bland. There were only 3 clams included in the bowl. *Long Island: tea forward and weak on the alcohol. Would just get an iced tea next time. *Seafood Combo: came with a choice of three seafood items, corn, sausage and potato. There was an additional $2 fee for shrimp to be deveined. I got their Harbor Seafood House Special Cajun sauce and despite getting spicy, it wasn't very hot. The seasoning resembled a tamer Tony Chacheres. The shrimp were cooked the best while the crawfish and mussels were on the tougher side. I wished they were more generous with the sauce because not everything was coated so we paid extra for sauce on the side. The add ons were reasonably priced and were of average quality. I arrived at 7:15, it was sad because the restaurant was totally empty. I ordered the 1lb deveined shrimp in a bag with a side of potatoes and corn with the all combo sauce, The food and service were good. Although, when I received my bill there was an extra $1.99 "Build Your Own" charge. When I questioned the waitress she said it was because I built my own by adding potatoes and corn. I said those were side orders which I was charged for and the menu doesn't mention anything about a "Build Your Own" charge. I asked to speak to a manager but she wasn't on site. I informed her I wasn't going to pay for something not listed on the menu. The waitress calked the manager. She told her the extra charge was for the sauce. Hmmmm! Right! In Yelp, this is marked also as Bambada harbor. It's a whole in the wall place, awful location, very slow. Not sure how long they've been here but I'm sure it's hard to survive in a plaza that's not visible with no other business nearby. The food itself if good. The crab is a steal compared to the other restaurants who currently charge $16 more per pound. The snow crab was very good quality and easy to peel. My kids said beef bulgogi was good but a small serving for the price. It comes with chow mein ramen kinda noodles which kids enjoyed. We got dumplings which looked generic fried. Cajun fries and corn cheese. Corn cheese was too sweet and had an odd taste to it. The flavors of the crab sauce were ok. The mix one was too salty. I would definitely go again but I rated 4 stars because women's bathroom was dirty. No toilet seat covers and no toilet paper. I told employee and she just left. My friend swears that this place had great food and a good atmosphere. We drove 40 minutes to get here. He was right. This venue is in a strip mall and there were no cars out front. We were not sure the place was open until we came inside. The decor is nice and they have plenty of TVs at the bar. We were sat immediately and the staff is extremely friendly. I got a Long Island, crab rangoon, fried oysters, and Combo #3 with the house blend boil. The Long Island was strong and I liked that. The crab rangoon was mostly cream cheese but was fried to perfection. The fried oysters were decent. I don't like any oysters so I don't want to judge them on this. Oct 1, 2022 Dinner was alright on this Saturday night. My husband had a craving for seafood boil so for a change, we came here instead of Angry Crab Shack. The interior is very spacious and the decorative water fountains are pretty to listen to as they are to see. In our build your own boil, our Dungeness crab $23.99 and corn on the cob $1.75 was just okay. The special Cajun spice $1.50 tasted better on our lobster tails $18.99 than it did on our crab. The avocado salad $4.80 on happy hour was a bit of a let down but I needed to order something besides rice $2.50 and hot sake $7.75 on happy hour to accompany my seafood. I was CRAVING sushi and saw this place was very close to my work. Stopped in here on my break and made it just in time for the lunch deal! I started with the cajun spicy edamame (love spicy food so I would rate the heat a medium). On the lunch special I got the two rolls (Louisiana roll and Philli roll). They were both good, however, I asked for a side of spicy Mayo as my dipping sauce and I would of loved the Mayo to be a lot spicier, it was a little too close to the Mayo taste for me. It didn't take us long to notice "Angry Crab," is king in AZ. My Yelp buddies would be proud we chose to support local instead lol This was our first seafood boil experience. Q: What do you call an insane water creature? A: Crayfish! I have been wanting to try this place for a while. On my first visit, I got the Cajun Crawfish Sandwich ($12) and the Shrimp Fried Rice ($11.95). Neither of these items were particularly amazing but they were decent. The cajun crawfish sandwich was an okay size but I didn't realize imitation crab would be inside as well. The crab pretty much served as a filler I suppose. The sweetness of the imitation crab overpowered the cajun crawfish flavor though which was a bummer. I also wish the bun was toasted for some texture. The fried rice was cooked nicely and seasoned well but the shrimp was a bit overcooked and had a chewy texture. I still want to pop in and try their crawfish though. One of my Instagram friends had spoken highly about their crawfish so I have my fingers crossed that the crawfish boil is worth it at least. For now, I'll give this place three-stars. read more

Here for a birthday dinner. Although I don't eat Seafood, I enjoyed the fellowship & atmosphere. Unfortunately, there was only one server for 20 people & she struggled. I'm glad the relatives extended grace her way. In the end, she was able to get everyone taken care of especially at check time. Long story short now onto the real review of the place, parking is big, when I got to the place it didn't look like many cars. Which made me hope this place didn't disappoint; plus side was plenty of parking and no wait to sit. I got my booth while I waited for my friend I loved the interior it looked real clean and the decor was nice, the vibes were more calming and chill than rowdy(if you've been to angry crab or la crab shack you'll know what I mean). They have a huge bar with stools to sit at and booths. Now to the food, they had a broad menu seafood broil (the only reason I go to these places) and Asian like, such as sushi and other things to be honest I didn't pay attention, because I went for the seafood broil only and it's easy to order. I got head on shrimp, with house Cajun sauce, spicy, and added potatoes and sausage. It was so good!! If you like spicy it's perfect! It does have a kick, but good. When I got my bag the food was steaming I would take off a point on the sausage(don't get me wrong it was good! But when biting I would have to pull in order to break off I feel like it was the skin of the sausage being annoying) and they were thinly cut, but not worth taking a star off. What a great hole in the wall. The shopping center is not that great, but this place was terrific. The decor is really beautiful, and fits the Bill for a crab joint. Fact is this place is our favorite neighborhood joint. The only question is where do I begin with my rave? I am going to choose to start at CLEANLINESS because the place is 100% immaculate and the tables are wide open, comfy, spacious and in no way do you feel like you are right on top of each other. I bring up cleanliness first because there is a very very well known crab joint right across the street that historically has gotten all the seafood attention here in Arizona, but at the same time they are constantly finding themselves on the naughty list with the health inspector. To be frank, that other place is gross. NOT HARBOR!!!!! Harbor is definitely the place that you want to go to eat seafood in a clean comfy setting. Next up in my rave is going to be the staff. We have had the best conversations with the owner (Michael), bartenders (Abygail), "CHEF", and the wait staff. They all entertain our antics and laughter and totally let us have fun with them. That's a breathe of fresh air in today's environment. Then there's the food and deals. We tend to be bar folks and given that Harbor is close to home we end up just sitting at the bar quite often. The warm sake flows all day and the Happy Hour bar deals are very welcome when the budget is tight. Happy Hour is 2-6 every day and all day on Sunday. It makes watching football all day Sunday hella enjoyable. (And yes they have TV's all around the bar and restaurant for easy viewing.) We haven't ventured too far into the menu yet BUT I can say the miso soup is on point and the sushi rolls are super freshy fresh and delicious. Overall whether you are looking for some yummy spicy seafood or just a great neighborhood bar, this place is definitely for you. AND if you prefer a great take out situation, they get job done too. Order online (use their website instead of DoorDash for better deals) and they have a designated area for pickups. Quick and Easy!!!! I ordered pickup through DoorDash. Harbor seafood advertises you get a pound of free seafood depending on how much you spend. I wanted to spend 60$ to get the free crab legs. I ordered 60$ pre tax through DoorDash and went to pick up my food. The restaurant seems new, it was quiet, and all the workers were friendly. My pickup happened with ease BUT I didn't get my FREE CRAB LEGS. When I got home and realized it, I called back up there and Michael, the owner, says because I didn't order through their website, and used DoorDash, I can't get the free pound. So now I know DOORDASH ORDERS WILL NOT GET YOU THE FREE POUND OF SEAFOOD. Period. BUT Michael, the owner, said next time i come in, he'll fix it by giving me something on the house. I can't even give it 3 stars. I treated my sister for dinner and apologized to her afterward as it was bad. Service is 2.5 stars. Food is 2.5 stars. And due to dishonesty of "giving free food" (which is a lie), I cannot round up to 3. I felt like I got swindled. For background, I eat at Angry Crab and Hot N Juicy regularly, so much so that I'd ask who was mixing on given nights before going as I knew the quality of sauce varies cook to cook and had 2 bad experiences out of maybe 40 times. I know the amount of crab in a pound. Today, I ordered the combo 3 which "automatic come with 1lb snow crab leg" as it states on menu. It also comes with 1#shrimp, 1#mussels and 1#crawfish, and when served is all in one big bag, not separate so you cannot see quantity of each. There was not a pound of crab legs in it. It was about 0.5 pound. But as we were toward being done, the server showed up with maybe 1/2 pound of crab legs and said "I have free crab legs for you." I already knew we didn't get our paid for pound of crab legs and told my sister that this is just the rest of what we paid for, they did not give us anything free as there wasn't a pound in it to begin with. The sauce is bad. I did the bottom choice, the harbor cajun whatever. The garlic is not fresh and tastes like it's from a jar, and the sauce is oil based and I did not taste even a hint of butter. The sauce had no depth, no complexity, it was bland and boring and just not good. The service was terrible. I was going to order an appetizer while waiting for my sister and mom to arrive, but 32 minutes later she never even looked at me or asked if I wanted anything while I waited. I tried to waive at waitress to come over but could not as she never even looked at my table. I had to walk to the counter and ask her to come to my table. I then ordered the combo and skipped the app. I was going to order my Mom tempura shrimp as she did not like the sauce, but she never even glanced our way, so I didn't bother. Then, we decided upon clam chowder for my mom and my sister waived down another server who went to get our server. It was "as you'd expect at this place" was my sister's comment on how it was. It was also ridiculously hot probably having been microwaved too long. I had hoped to have a new crab place to add to the rotation, but ai will never return. Updated review: Called and order for pickup, they charged an "online convenience" fee, even though it's neither online nor delivery (not through DoorDash or GrubHub or anything). I'm done. Y'all can suck it, y'all greedy. Been here several times and their crawfish have been consistently good. Seating is spacious and waitstaff is great. Their crawfish are generally bigger than anywhere else I've been in the valley. One gripe I have had always been their pricing. When they first open, the pricing and promos were confusing and you'd always end up spending more than you'd like for "free" stuff. The promos are long gone now but still they tend to be shady and not very upfront about charges. One recent example is that we asked for lemon slices to accompany the crawfish, they gave us about 6 slices of lemons and in the end charge us $1.00 for them. I usually spend no less than $100 every time I'm here and I'm not complaining about the $1.00, but to give us a few slices and charging that much for lemons without telling us is nothing short of just being stingy and borderline greedy. I'd rather have that $1 towards tips. I would think that lemon practically would come along with shellfish. Not sure if I'll dine in again, I will continue to get take out as like I said, their crawfish and sauces are probably the best I've had in the East valley. read more
