Easy to miss though as the others are next to the main road whereas this is nearby but hidden behind some trees. Turn at the traffic lights beside the main car park near the tourist information centre and library and follow the road around into the car park. From here you need to cross the main road at the traffic lights, climb up a steep pathway beside a restaurant, then through a shopping mall on the left (The Willings Passage Mews) to reach the town centre.

It is well signed parking area and easy to find (follow the signs when arriving in Ammanford), and there is a covered walkway to the road. There are machines on each level to 'pay and display' but those with blue (disabled) badges get three hours free parking (normal charges apply after that). It's open seven days a week too. My only complaint about this car park is that many spaces are almost impossible to use as upright concrete pillars stand in part of them, taking up quite a bit of space. You can get a normal-sized car in but then can't open a door!

There is a ramp walkway to one side (behind the area set aside for coaches) which takes you up to the main road, which you then follow downhill to get to the beach or town. It makes a great day out! Just follow the road signs - it's not far from town so the bus ride is quite short, unlike the Park and Rides in some other towns. In the heart of the new maritime quarter, the city across the road on one side and the beach on the…read moreother. A great place to walk and see all the boats, the new blocks of expensive flats and the various shops, pubs and restaurants around the immediate area. There's a nice atmosphere and it's a pleasant place to visit, especially in good weather. It's also close to the Dylan Thomas centre and the museum.

Just a short hop from the city centre the marina is a great place to get away from the hustle and…read morebustle. There's something very calming about water and you will find some solace here. There are plenty of pubs and places to eat as well as ice cream shops. My favourite thing is the statue of Dylan Thomas' Captain Cat. Lots of building work going but I guess evolution is a good thing.
