I took the money in first week of June and asked for a date, they said they didn't have one but would get in touch with me.....a month later I had heard nothing and contacted them. The woman was out of the office and said she would get back to me....she did not. I phoned again and she said she had no date so had not bothered to call me and she still had no date. A week or so later (middle of July) I got an email saying "starting soon....just a few more weeks". I replied and asked "in August?"....no response. So I decided to cancel and went to get my deposit back.....the woman withheld $200. She said they had bought a can of stain for me and their time was valuable. Checking with Sherwin Williams I found the stain cost $58.18 so they charged me $143.00 to pick up a can of stain. And I would suspect that they did not make a special trip to pick up the stain, it was likely part of a larger order. I phoned this company and emailed 3 times saying I think this is wrong and I want an additional refund of $143 (I do not mind paying for the stain) and they don't even answer, they simply ignore me. So not only do I feel that this company has run me around for 2 months but they have also cheated my charging $143 for doing nothing. I have been told that they got a big contract in this time and it had to be started within 4 days....it looks like they just dumped their smaller projects.

I was travelling up hwy 5A on Wednesday September 28, 2022, at approximately 815pm. I was on the…read moresection of the Hwy that was being milled between Hugh Allen and Summit. There was absolutely no signage or cones to direct traffic. There was a very large rut in the road which has caused significant damage to my car. Because it was so dark, I was unable to stop and take photos of the huge rut in the road and when I returned the following day (my husband drove me) the rut had been filled My car now undrivable. It will be repaired at a cost to me and, but this has left me without a vehicle until at least October 7th, causing significant hardship to my family. When I spoke to John O'dare, he expressed very little care or compassion, and BC Dawson has made no attempt to follow up with me or to provide any compensation. The pothole that I hit and BA Dawson Blacktops immediately repaired after my complaint wasn't an existing condition. It was created by their removal of the existing surface through asphalt milling in anticipation of applying an overlay of fresh asphalt. This milling exposed the underlying gravels in the roadway which were eroded by traffic passing through them creating a pothole. This pothole and insufficient signage led to the damage our vehicle suffered. I would agree with your comments m/assessment if the pothole was pre-existing but it was created by BA Dawson's removal of the existing pavement. They were trying to save money by not completing the required base repairs immediately after exposing them. I did nothing wrong here. I was driving on a major roadway that she should be able to assume is safe to drive on with all known hazards having been identified and repaired prior to the opening up of the road again to the public. This is not an unreasonable expectation. The onus should not be put on the victim hear. It should be put onto the negligent party who created the hazard. There must be some kind of recourse for us here.
