Truly Dire!!
We were in what they called a 'superior' room The biggest thing about it was the shower!
Wi-fi was free, but too slow to be bothered with, would not download anything other than text.
Dirty marks on the carpet, dirty splashes on the walls, skirting boards long-past re-painting time! (I have photos but cannot upload them at present)
Staff blase No disabled parking spaces and no lift to our first floor rabbit hutch, no assistance offered. No disabled spaces anywhere in the grounds and insufficient parking for the number of guests.
Supposed to be four-star. We travel regularly, not just in UK and have found much better 2* in many places.
Should have a warning on the web-site stating that there are NO facilities for disabled people and that they really don't care and make no apology when a disabled person arrives and has difficulty.
The in-room brochure says 'lift' Staff say 'No lift'
We have never stayed in such a small room anywhere the tea and coffee making and fridge were in the wardrobe, leaving hanging space for one garment each!
Huge telly on wall remote deader than the dodo and only 10 channels, none of which were tuned in properly, so even if you hopped out of bed to change channels there was not one watchable.
No ventilation so both windows open at 10.20pm someone somewhere lit a bonfire so too hot AND kippered!
Grossly over-rated, over-sold and over-priced for what it is.
Couldn't find any new-build Are all these people at the same hotel?
The Premier Inn in Hartlepool is actually MUCH nicer, room big enough to walk round without tripping over each other or the bed, with a lovely view over the Marina, a super restaurant next door, though surrounded by fewer blades of grass and trees. Bed not much cop, either, and at least a foot narrower than any other we have found in any other 4* anywhere in the country.
Avoid Room 403 like the plague the Tardis it certainly isn't!
We will definitely NOT be back! read more
