It was $1.88 for a pint container, which would be $3.99 at a 7-11. The checker showed me pump 38 before ring in to make sure it was my car. I also had a chance to use the restrooms and they were clean and had a full time attendant cleaning and removing trash. Like others have said, this place is ginormous!! There were two employees standing in the main area that did not say anything to us about closing. They just turned the lights off. The woman's restroom only had one stall available for use so my daughter and I had to take turns. My husband and son finished and went into Jimmy Johns to eat. While I was in the hall waiting for my daughter to finish a third man appeared at the counter and yelled across the store that they were closed. I said yes, I understand we are almost finished. I decided to wait and use the restroom elsewhere but my daughter was washing her hands so I changed my mind thinking I would finish by the time she was done and we could leave together. As I was pulling up my pants the third man opened the WOMENS bathroom door completely and proceeded to yell at us that they were closed. I was livid. I proceeded to inform him that I was going to call the police because a man should never under any circumstances enter a women's restroom while it was being used. He yelled the same words over and over again so I have to assume his English was limited as well as the proper way to treat women and customers. So I would advise anyone to not use this establishment for anything but especially the women's restroom. unless you want a man barging in on you. If he is not the owner and the actual owner reads this I would suggest you correct this behavior immediately lest you have a lawsuit on your hands. I was very close to calling the police. It has charm and character you won't find in a Shell or Speedway. There is usually a group of regulars hanging out at the front chatting. The store is surprisingly large but dark and pretty dusty. The variety of items on the shelves is actually pretty funny and some of them look like they have been there for 40+ years. The couple that runs the place keeps a notebook with all transactions hand written in it. You can get homemade deli sandwiches on the super soft white bread that sticks to the roof of your mouth when you take a bite. Nothing fancy but it's nice to get lunch for 2 for less than $10 anywhere these days. They serve breakfast as well but I haven't made it in to try that yet. They also sell fuel but you can't pay at the pump. I would find that annoying some places but it just makes sense here. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of places left like Shelton's.

The shop is small and they don't have everything you could possibly want but you should be able to find something that works, be that a drink, snack or even lunch. I came after lunch time but they did advertise lunches, they were just gone so I'm not sure what they offered. The do require you spend $3 or $4 before they will run a card transaction but that's not a huge issue, just something of note and they do post that.

I have passed by this old Convenient Food Mart store many times but finally made this stop after a recommendation by a close friend who is a big "foodie!" I knew a Meatloaf sandwich was going to be on the list so I went directly to the counter to pick one up, I also picked up a country ham sandwich and bottled water to eat in the front seat of my truck (there were no open seats available inside due to the local crowd occupying all the tables and seating), they were very busy. There was plenty of help, everybody was very helpful and friendly. The steam table had plenty of options for lunch or you can choose to have a deli sandwich made but the Meatloaf is piled high in a bun and it packs all the flavor you expect from a farmhouse kitchen table!
