We had a two hour surfing introduction lesson - although we ended up being in the water for nearly three hours and they didn't mind at all. After we got kitted out in our wetsuits, we carried the huge boards closer to the water for our first lesson. We were taught all the basics. How to catch a wave, how to get onto your knees... and how to stand up! Confident, we strode into the water looking for some big waves. For those of us who weren't quite naturals at this sport, the instructors took a keen interest to make sure we had ample opportunity to try and stand and catch waves. Often this involved dragging us out to sea and actually hurling us down the waves themselves. Props to these guys, they're enthusiastic and really nice chaps. A nice touch is their photographer - equipped with a ridiculously sized zoom lens, he snapped our successes and even the spectacular wipe-outs. Great souvenirs of the weekend for a reasonable price.

They led us on a trail that was challenging and fun, and initiated a bunch of cliff-jumping noobs. Apparently during high tide participants get to do a lot of jumps, while during low tide you get to explore caves (which are filled up with water during high tide). We'd been surfing at the various beaches in Newquay, but during this trip we got to see a different side of newquay that was a bit wilder than the sandy beach breaks. Would recommend!

Just spent a week at crantock beach & our two girls had surfing lessons everyday Monday to Friday…read more Although not quite ready to star on Hawaii 5O they gained the basics of how to become confident surfers. The instructors where very good & gave continuous hints & tips during the lessons. The girls had a great time & would recommend it as a school to try for complete beginners or semi skilled alike. We would like to thank Rob the proprietor & JC the primary instructor for there assistance. On the last day my wife & son did the canoe trip up the river Gannel they also had a great time. The owners, Simon & Amanda are a friendly pair - especially if you're up for some footie banter! Simon's fish and chips are fab - beautiful fresh fish in the lightest batter, with scrumptious real chips, and not a spot of grease in sight. You can even take along a bottle of your favourite tipple if you fancy making an evening of it! There are plenty of snacks on offer during the day - just the thing to keep you going during a day on the beach - You can also buy all sorts of beach parafernalia to keep you & the kids kitted out and amused. As a complete beginner the determination to get back on the board was egged on by the three teachers as well as the distinct presence of the photographer on the beach. You can also get hostel and hotel accomodation and coasteering packages - just try it, you'll love it!

I have used them twice, once when eleven of…read moreus turned up wanting a sufr lesson that day when they fell over themselves to accomodate us, and once on a weekend break. The staff are great, very helpful in a chilled out sort of way. When we went along for the weekend they sent us a text message each day or the evening before letting us know what time the lesson would start the next day (as it varied depending what the waves were like). They have a great method of teaching which allows almost everyone to stand up on the board on their first lesson. They are also great at teaching more experienced surfers and I learnt loads from them. Finally, the best thing when you come out of the water is the nice warm hot tub waiting for you afterwards (I won't mention the cold shower between the water and the hot tub!!

Not sure what happened for the other guy but had nothing but help and wonderful customer service. The lady in the shop I presume to be the owner was lovely. Happy to pull out different products, check for other sizes and generally seemed very happy to help. Even good enough to offer me a little Christmas spirit. Had a nice chat then had a lovely little surf. Good vibes. Recommended by at least 1, so I'd check it out.
