Ok I have to admit I love the meat department. Picked up my weekly 5 for 25.00 deal. I also got some great blueberries.

BEK is a family-owned restaurant serving a mix of Afghan, Turkish, and Uzbek cuisine, with all of their meats listed as 100% halal. They also share the space with the European Gourmet Market, so you can browse imported foods and specialty items while you're there. We ordered a nice variety to try: Beef Tikka Kebab, Lamb Döner Plate, Chicken Döner Plate, and Uzbek Manti. The döner plates were loaded with meat, rice, fries, fresh salad, pickled vegetables, and sauces, making them a seriously filling meal. The Uzbek Manti were steamed dumplings filled with seasoned beef, onion, and garlic and topped with creamy yogurt and a flavorful sauce. Everything we tried was delicious, but the Beef Tikka Kebab was definitely my favorite. The chunks of marinated beef were tender, juicy, nicely grilled, and packed with flavor. Served alongside warm bread, grilled vegetables, and fresh salad, it was simple but done extremely well. If you're traveling through Rogers or Northwest Arkansas and looking for halal food, BEK is absolutely worth checking out. Generous portions, authentic flavors, and several different cuisines to explore all in one place. Definitely a spot I'd return to!

The kind of sandwich that makes you say, "Yep, that's definitely a sandwich," and then immediately forget about it. At $15 for the sandwich alone, I was expecting something a little more memorable than edible. What really got me was the pricing. The employee taking my order never mentioned all the upcharges for sides and a drink. When the employee told me my total, my "quick sandwich lunch" was over the $20 mark. I audibly gasped and promptly (and kindly) told her I only wanted the sandwich. As she took off the side and drink, It crossed my head that for over $20 I should expected a waiter, a menu, and maybe someone asking if I'd like dessert. The atmosphere could also use a refresh. The place feels tired, outdated, and about as inviting as a doctor's office waiting room from 2007. As for the service, it seemed like every employee I encountered was determined not to break into a smile. No "How are you today?" No friendly conversation. No sense that anyone wanted to be there. The overall vibe was less "Welcome!" and more "My shift ends at 4." In the end, nothing was terrible, but nothing justified the price either. There are too many places serving better food, with friendlier service, for less money. This is one sandwich I won't be scheduling a reunion with.

Now THAT was a sandwich!…read more If you are looking for something akin to a cold tuna sandwich from an office vending machine, do not come here. This place isn't cheap, but it's a nice change from fast food no frills sandwiches. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and even though the place used to be a fast food chicken joint, it's well decorated and looks great. Can't wait to eat my way through the menu!
