It is a safe environment with plenty of people out walking, plus it's dog friendly. Beautiful scenery and homes along the trail and not to mention you're surrounded by water and the sound of the stream will keep you going. I did see a few people out riding bikes as well. I'm a biker myself, but didn't think that the trail was large enough for large groups on bikes. But then again, are most trails ever?? If you're in the area please do plan to check it out and go for a stroll. Parking is limited, but also available down the street.

After getting a quick snack to take along with us, we visited the river walk and then came back the next day to walk it again! This river walk allows you to get multiple great shots of the Congaree River. Considering this is a paved/board walk trail, it really is friendly to all who would take a stroll, from all fitness levels, ages, and wheels (bikes, strollers or wheelchairs), you have a lot to see and do here. Although we only walked maybe a mile of the trail, which sandwiches itself between the river and a nearby neighborhood, it was getting late in the evening and we didn't decide to walk the 8 miles of this walk. Near the start of the trail there is a lovely amphitheater and although there is no music...there is a small band at the top of the amphitheater in the form of an artistic display. This artwork is really cool and you should get a photo with them! Also near the amphitheater are bathrooms and parking. The parking lot directly in front of the trail start is somewhat small, but we always either found a spot or found someone coming out of a spot when we came in. If I lived in Columbia, I'd likely be at the Riverwalk several times a week. As it stands, if you're close to here for any reason and you have an hour, check the west Columbia river walk out!

I recently moved to the area and needed a tune-up for my bike. I went to Outspokin' Bicycles first and the guy I talked to couldn't even give me an actual price to tune-up my bike, just kept saying, "It's going to be very expensive to fix this, I recommend just buying a new bike." Even after explaining that buying a new bike wasn't in my budget and that I simply wanted a tune-up, they continued to tell me how expensive it would be to fix my bike. They listed a long series of repairs, never gave me a clear estimate, and said it would be more than two weeks before I'd get my bike back. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion at Cycle Center--and I'm so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, they were friendly, honest, and helpful. They gave me a clear, very reasonable quote, completed the work in just two days, and when I picked up my bike, I could hardly believe it was the same one. It looked and rode like new! It's refreshing to find a shop that genuinely cares about its customers, provides quality workmanship, and charges fair prices. If you're looking for a bike shop you can trust, I highly recommend Cycle Center. They exceeded my expectations in every way!

In addition, although I don't need the hardcore camping and hiking equipment, they do have a large selection of shoes, shirts, hats, beanies, pants, etc. that an indoorsman like me (lol) will find useful. What I also thought was cool was that they offer some classes like "Camping Basics" and "How to Pack a Backpack." While some of these classes cost $50 for non-members, others are free and open to the public. Lastly, I loved their selection of dog equipment, which I could definitely see myself coming back for, as they had a few items that I haven't even seen at stores like PetSmart or Petco. All-in-all, REI's a really fun store, which I think that anybody, regardless of experience level, can visit and enjoy!

Price can be on the high end, but it makes up in quality and service with their return policy. --Capacity-- The store is huge.
