Previously part of my…read morefavorite (but now out of the way) barbershop in Cary, A Better Man's barbershoo, fortune just so had it that Jay opened his new shop minutes from my new house in Garner (five minutes from White Oak shopping center). Styled with lots of thought, Van-tique is a delightful man's barbershop run by guys for guys. That's not to say women aren't welcome -- in fact, Jay is fantastic with kids' haircuts of all ages. The place is spotless, with the decor a mix of tasteful man cave, classic garage and updated old-time barbershop. Along with very reasonably priced haircuts, shaves and beard trims, Jay and his crew serve up free cold beer, cold water, root beer and even hot coffee, along with lots of good humor. I'm super picky about my haircuts and beard trim and I don't worry one bit with this crew. I have yet to get a haircut from Jay that wasn't pergect. If you've gone to any chain to get your hair cut (probably with mixed results), or been overpaying at a salon, stop by here. You'll be delighted you did!

They didn't just give quick haircuts--they went all in with full service cuts, even finishing with the straight razor. The barbers were patient, thorough, and made sure the kids looked sharp while keeping them comfortable the whole time. I was so impressed that I ended up getting my own haircut as well. The same barber who worked on my boys cut mine, and he did an equally fantastic job. Clean lines, great attention to detail, and an overall awesome experience.
