Warning - Harris Fence Burlington installed a new fence 7 months ago and the fence is falling down and the owner is not responding to me. The contract was lifetime warranty, and agreement that he would repair dented sections. Since April I have been requesting the warranty information and he will not respond, the fence has more than a dozen dents and holes he refuses to fix and , he removed the extra materials I paid for from my property. The section that fell was never attached correctly he refused to remedy. Facts, there are witnesses and pictures of the problems from the beginning - There is BBB complaint that he would not respond to and there is currently an open complaint with NJ consumer affairs.I am not the only customer this has happened to. I hired him to support small business but that does not negate professional responsibility. $11,000 & a fence that is falling down!!! the ground in front originally had arborvitae's that were removed prior to fence installation and I am waiting to replant until after the fence is replaced properly, there was no landscaping activity that caused this...there was no lawn mowed or bumps into the fence. The bottom marks are simply dirt kicked up from rain and can be washed off...these Mark's have nothing to do with the defective work and would not cause the fence to fall The fence fell because after the fence was more than 3/4s installed he removed the dented sections in this space and flipped them over onto my neighbors side leading me to believe he corrected. This compromised the fence and I knew it was only a matter of when not if I would have this problem. And I have no warranty on the materials to transfer in the event I sell my home. read more

I would not recommend Harris Fence in Burlington. Colin Harris (owner) does not stand behind his work and does not return calls or emails for that matter. Installed my fence end of a July beginning of Aug. on five separate occasions (Nov, Jan, 7 times in March so far)2 different sections slates came out entirely and all 21 sections have gaps in them. First time quotes $1000 to fix it when the entire job originally cost just under $5700 (21 sections, concrete, gate, take down old fence and take away) Have left numerous messages and emailed 4 times specifically requesting a copy of the agreement along with the terms of the agreement. No response. Picture of the second time a section came out. Colin said it was from wind. Funny how others that left reviews online stated their fences shifted from wind and his crew came out and reinforced those sections fixed at no cost to them. When asking him why I am being treated differently and being discriminated against I get no return call or email. Picture of one of the sections. Gave them 1 star because I had to select something. 1st impressions are most important, and theirs was not good, however, after about 3 calls made to Harris Fence after the quoted start and finish date, they came out to install fence. The owner of my company is happy with the installation, and that counts for something. So, eh. My suggestion is that you offer better communication with clients if you cannot keep to confirmed job dates so that we know that you haven't just run off with our deposits. read more

My husband and I just had a fence installed by Harris Fence. It was a special order and came as promised. The installers were efficient, most capable and pleasant. The site was cleaned up, the old fence was taken away. The price was reasonable. It was a very good experience and we would recommend this company. read more

Stay far far away!!!!! It was the worst customer service experience I have ever dealt with. I called and spoke with Donna In late February to receive a quote for a new fence. Donna asked me what we needed and Donna told me she would send a quote. I asked for someone to come out to my property to look at the existing fence and to ask questions about the installation. Donna told me it wasn't necessary (first red flag). She sent a quote of $2,745.00. When I submitted a check for deposit, She called me and told me it wasn't enough. She then explained that the quote is now $2960.00. She explained that Jim came out to my property. Jim explained that we all of a sudden had a more complicated job and raised the price. We have a small cedar board on board fence. I was told it would be an easy install. We are replacing an existing board on board fence. When I asked questions about the increase Donna became irate and insulting to me and my husband. They refused to answer any questions. She hung up on us. I called back and asked that she return my check. She hung up again. This is supposed to be a business (I use this term lightly). I called again and she told me that my check is in the mail and then hung up on me again. I did a further investigation on this company and found a long line of issues such as no call/no shows on install dates and poor installation. If I could give this company 0 stars, I would.
