Beautiful, safe and convenient place for "modern" camping. However, there is a ridiculous amount of litter left behind by campers. They have dumpsters and a bottle/can recycling center, with signs that say please keep doors closed because of raccoons, but people still throw their trash all around the dumpsters. RIDICULOUS, PEOPLE. Clean up after yourselves and your children, if the dumpsters are full take your trash with you and properly dispose of it elsewhere.

The local marina while waiting for fireworks to start. Awesome fireworks display for July 4th weekend!

This a wonderful park for camping , RV, tents. They keep the restroom showers clean and contained. It appeared all the campers were happy campers, children in the lake, riding bikes, Barbeque and fire camps ablaze! Friendly staff and nice campers. We had a great spot enjoyed with friends.

Site 103. There is an asphalt pad next to the picnic table.

This campground is my favorite in all of Michigan. My boyfriend and I stayed on campsite 103 which is a lakeside site. It was beautiful to say the least. Perfect place to set up a tent and have a view of the water. Beware if you stay on this site, there is a tree next to it that kids love to climb. Luckily the kids didn't make any noise in the morning so we were not bothered. Our only regret was not bringing our dogs because this site is next to the pet friendly beach area. This area of the beach doesn't have much sand which must be why it was designated pet friendly, but the dog run it located in this area as well (It's a small patch of woods that is actually very pretty to walk through even without your pet). We have also stayed on campsite 84 which is a lakeside site, but you have to walk through a short wooded path to get to the water. This campground has a bike/walking path which was fun to explore. It also have volleyball nets and a basketball court. Every site has electricity, a picnic table, a fire pit, and fire wood is sold in the campground. The bathrooms are kept clean. I love the facilities because they have individual showers and some of the shower rooms have toilets and a sink so you can have a private bathroom versus being in the stalls. As great as this is, I found that some of the showers don't have hot water, so just make sure you find one that does beforehand. Know that even if you don't get a chance to stay on a lakeside site, the beach is easily accessible, making any of the sites a great place to stay.

We walk here quite often, it's a nice place to walk your dog and just stretch your legs.

Great park. New restrooms and showers. Friendly staff. Right on Lake Huron. Rocky beach but day beach is beautiful.

And while it might not seem like much while you are walking DOWN them, in this antigravity paradox just remember, what goes down must also come back up--unless you plan on sleeping down there. Once you've descended the 300 stairs (actually, even on the way down), the views are absolutely spectacular. The setting is tranquil and relaxing, and there are several placards along the way which tell the story of the Springs and describe so many interesting aspects of this Huron National Forest site. Feel free to take your time meandering about in the shade of the canopied forest--for your looming ascent will have you longing for that serene setting. Once you've read all the informational signs and committed the gorgeous views to memory (or at least snapped some memorable phots thereof), its time to climb. Yep, those same 300 stairs that seemed so innocent on your decent now become your nemesis. In the mid summer heat, you also gain a deep appreciation for the perspiration-evoking power of Michigan's humidity. And, for those ultra-tough cross fit types out there that may scoff at those panting, wheezing, sweating souls such as, perhaps, me, maybe you should attack the 300 stairs Rocky Balboa style and enjoy yourself a victory dance at the top (after which, if you are feeling a little humanitarian urge, you could send down a tow rope or some other means of pulling my kind up the 186 stairs I still need to climb).
