I bought life insurance from New York Life from day one it was a disaster with unorganized and…read moremiscommunication between their own representative and the company itself. The representative came to me in May 2013 to pitch her sales, which I agreed to transfer my life insurance policy over from a different insurance company. First set of paper work I signed and rendered a check for payment, the representative did not turned it in to her company on time. Therefore the rep came back to me in June 2013 to re-signed all paperwork to attempt to turned it into her company on time this time around. Have in mind the company cashed my May 2013 check for the month of May when I wasn't even covered due to my policy doesn't start till June 06,2013. June 15,2013 came around and the company drafted my account for June payment again. I called my rep and clarified with her that the company collected 2 payments for June 2013 and she reassured me that the second payment will be credit for the month of July 2013. July 15 came around and my account was drafted again for payment, and again I called my rep to let her know that my account was drafted yet again. This time around both the company and rep left a bad taste in my mouth due to lack of communication, disorganized, dishonest, and the worst customer service. I advised the rep to cancel my life insurance and of course she again dishonestly reassured me that her overhead was cancelling the policy as we spoke. The next morning I called the rep's office to speak to someone else about the status of my policy, and of course I was told that the policy was not cancel. At this point I was just frustrated and told the person on the phone how unprepared and under-trained their representative are. Not only did their rep cost me unnecessary funds, but now I am without life insurance. I called NYL corporate office in Dallas to cancel my policy on my own since my rep or the local office could not do it for me. I asked if I was going to get credit back with the payment that was drafted out on July 15, 2013 due to that was supposed to cover for August 2013, but of course I was denied that. To anyone out there, friends, and family whom are looking for life insurance I would not recommend New York Life Insurance to you. I hope this review get back to the local NYL New Orleans office, so that they may learn how to take care of their policy holder because without us NYL company is nothing.

We were at the car dealership Friday evening and had everything in order to buy the car and walk away with it except the insurance. Bill had previously quoted us for a policy with Progressive and all we had to do was call them to set it up. When we called them on the phone, they somehow had a higher price than what we were quoted for and we were able to call Bill on his cell phone after hours for his help with the situation. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the insurance sorted out before the dealership closed so we had them keep the car for the night and Bill was going to help us first thing in the morning to set up the insurance. We called him after leaving the dealership even though he had told us he was at an event and he told us that he would be able to help us later that night so that we would be set to get the car in the morning. He called us back around 8:30 and helped us set up the insurance and sent us the cards from his business and personal email to make sure we had it. It was amazing service on his part and we're glad that we went with him because he really helped us out when we were in a bind.

An attorney told me not to buy title insurance, that if a Title Company performed a thorough search and found the title is clear, it's a one-time thing, so why get insurance?
