The exhibit is an interactive museum of sorts with great artifacts from the Harry Potter films. It is VERY comprehensive and covers the Fantastic Beasts canon, also. If you're not able to make it to England or Japan to take those omg-level tours at the studios, this is definitely something you'd enjoy--with the caveats that you A) like Harry Potter a decent bit and B) aren't deterred by JKR's politics. I fall into the "I mean I don't love Harry Potter and I haven't read the books but I've seen all of the movies multiple times and one of my best friends is obsessed with it" category. So last year, my friend, who turned 30, made it a point that she wanted to *RE-visit* (not visit for the first time) the Harry Potter Studio Tour when in England for her birthday. Being someone who falls into the category I do, I definitely was amazed with that tour and was very glad to have done it, but it is not a place I would visit again (unless I have children who want to visit it and it's still running). So when I met this same friend in Boston this last weekend (our first trip together since the UK trip), I wasn't absolutely thrilled to be spending another decent amount of a day going to another Harry Potter experience. But I love my friend, so I gave it a chance. Being someone who falls into the above category, I say this is a wow-level experience. I quickly realized that this exhibition is a watered-down version of the studio tour, at a SIGNIFICANTLY more affordable price and reasonable location, so I could see where many people will find it interesting and entertaining. Being someone who has already been to the studio tour in England, and if I wasn't trying to give a fair review in the eyes of someone who hasn't been, I would rate this with 3 stars. If you fall into the same category that I do, and you've been to the studio tour, do not waste your time here. The employees are friendly, but there is no new information to learn here, the merchandise is second-rate compared to the studio tour, and there are some kinks they need to work through with the bracelet technology. I hate to burst anyone's magical bubble, but this really just seems like another money grab from WB. So why four stars? Bring your HP-obsessed loved ones and they will enjoy it. We are pretty big Harry Potter fans so we were really looking forward to this experience. All of the props and costumes were very cool but I do wish there were some more interactive pieces and better photo opportunities. There were a bunch of interactive things towards the beginning but then it seemed like they gave up. There was also 1 really fun photo op with a special place to put your phone and I wish there was more of that. They took a group picture at the beginning that was $25 at the end and there was very little in the gift shop for kids other than stuffed animals (I always look for a tee shirt but sizes were VERY limited). I have seen some of the movies, never read the books, but found myself enjoying the exhibition! My sister's a fan, so I got her the VIP package, but noticed that she only got a lanyard instead of the tote bag and poster. Also, noticed others in line receiving the same (definitely losing points for that). The Snitch wristband was a nice way to keep things interactive, but honestly a button would have done the same. My favorite room is Quidditch, you actually got to shoot and score with sound effects! Going through the sets and classes of the Harry Potter world was fun, too. As for merch, wished they had posters (easy sell tbh), but guess not from the get go. I really liked the designs of the shirts, but putting dark colors on slightly light colors is hard to show the image. That reminds me! Before entering the exhibit, there's a photo op. The staff didn't tell us when to move/stop moving, so we didn't get any good shots at all. Overall, I don't like these themed "experiences" because there's always some scam/tricks, but did it for the fam. read more

I am so glad they extended their stay at the Cambridge Galleria Mall. The Harry Potter Exhibition is now running until April 2025 I believe. I parked my car in the galleria lot and paid I believe $8. The exhibition takes about an hour to complete but that is completely up to you at your own leisure. For any Potter fans, this experience is truly for you, as they have quizzes, facts, props, and even items from the movies for your to read, take pictures, and learn. They have a few interactive rooms and photo ops which is always fun to do and share. Go on a weekday if you can as it is definitely less busy. At the end, they have a store where they sell all things Harry Potter and you can even try butter beer! read more

The Harry Potter exhibition was a blast! It was highly interactive, featuring a bracelet you tap at various stations to earn points for your house. There were small issues with the bracelet but they fixed it after a few times not working. It was much larger than I expected, taking us about two hours to fully enjoy everything. There was so much to see, and since we went on opening day, the atmosphere was lively with many people dressed up. It felt like being at a theme park! Every room was full of surprises. ps... This exhibit was well worth the cost and we had a great time! We each got a band which allowed us to interact during many different screens during the exhibit. We each earned points towards the house we wanted to be n. There were costumes from both the movies and from the play, The Cursed Child. We played Quidditch and there were sound effects after we were successful with having the balls go through each hoop. We purchased the audio player that we could listen to at each numbered place. We even enjoyed a butter beer in the gift shop too. I would recommend this for any of the fans of the movies to see before it leaves the area. read more

This is a cute exhibit for Harry Potter fans, I especially recommend it for kids! It doesn't take too long to go through. You get some nice photo ops throughout the exhibits, and the crew there is very nice. They ask you trivia questions so be sure to have your HP knowledge on hand! However, compared to the Warner Brothers studio tours, this is a lot smaller and less extravagant. But it's conveniently located in Boston! read more

Spent the morning practicing spells and potion making at the Harry Potter exhibition. We were given a wrist band that allowed us to interact with the golden snitch to collect points for your house (be sure to bring someone who knows a lot of Harry Potter trivia for maximum points). All of the exhibits were well displayed and the attention to detail was phenomenal. Definitely a family friendly environment, fun for all ages. read more

This is fun experience for Harry Potter fans. I'm someone who has read all the books and seen all the movies several times, so it was like stepping into a familiar dream. We went after work and there were almost no other people which was great. I've done these experiences before where it's super packed but this was much quieter. It was a fun exhibition. The tour guides are very friendly and funny. It's very family based which is sweet. The props are pretty cool and you learn some about what it takes to produce the movies. There are nice interactive stuff mainly for kids though lol but its still fun and cutesy. I paid for the VIP pass and it wasn't worth the extra money. I wish I had just paid the regular fee. I only got a tote bag and that was the only main difference. I went at 1PM on a Friday so there wasn't much of a line. read more

Appreciated the attention to detail, the interactive aspects, the wide variety of props and costumes and the self-guided pace. Not rushed at all although the wristbands only allow you to cast spells once. Especially enjoyed the 'flue powder' as you entered the Ministry of Magic. Recommend taking the time to read all of the materials and signs. Lots of interesting facts and background info (like how Daniel Radcliffe broke so many wands on set 'drumming'). This was well worth the price of admission. The gift shop had some nice selections although a poster of the event in Boston or even a postcard would have made an affordable keepsake. Easy to get to driving and parking close by. Only recommendation would be to have more stands on which to place your camera for self timed photos. Most everyone we met was super happy to take your photo for you but in places where there were fewer guests like Hagrid's table we missed out on the photos. I loved the attention to detail like Hagrid's memories among the vials at the Pensieve. Lots of little details if you look for them. Awesome for fans of the books and films. read more
