We had gotten dinner before the show so we did not partake of the commissary, but I saw they had a special that related back to the play. For this play it was a spice cupcake that related back to the spice cake mentioned in the play. The performance was phenomenal. I read through the play bill and saw that there were many actors on stage for the first time, had I not seen that I would not have known. It was well directed, the actors were so believable in their roles. I was very impressed. I look forward to attending more plays at this venue when I visit my friend that lives locally. The theatre was earlier housed in a barn (!) and is currently celebrating it's 40th year! The whole place smelled of wood, and brought with it a rush of nostalgia :) I watched a production of the Music Man here which was pretty good too, with some great performances. However, the setting of this theatre is what takes the cake.

This professional theatre…read moregroup is housed in the Temple Building immediately across the street (to the east) from the Lied Center and immediately across the street (to the south) from UNL's campus and old CBA. This professional theatre partners closely with the University. The Executive Director of the Nebraska Repertory Theatre is also the Director of UNL's Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film. I learned all of these things recently after a friend invited me to attend a performance of Sense and Sensibility in the Howell Theatre. The cast and crew was a combination of professionals and students, and the show was great. Tickets are reasonably priced. Check it out!
