Hartshead Moor is an average motorway services, it is run by Welcome Break and is on the M62, close to Leeds and Bradford. It isn't the most attractive services out there, but certainly does the job with multiple branches of Starbucks in the concourse and a drive-thru if you're in a hurry, lots of parking with other brands including Waitrose, WHSmith, Burger King and KFC. There is also a basic Days Inn Hotel. There is a small bridge connecting the Eastbound and Westbound concourses. Obviously, the outlets are very overpriced, mainly selling overpriced food/drink and travel essentials, some items of which I can't think of a reason why anyone would potentially need it, especially at those inflated prices! I much prefer Leeds Skeleton Lake Services which is the next services along the M1, but this isn't a bad alternative if you're passing through the area and need a rest-stop. 3* read more

Fairly average motorway services on the M62. Perhaps its most distinctive feature is that it's Pennine location -- although I don't know the area round about I suspect it would be a great place for a walk! The facilities there are more or less what you'd expect; the toilets aren't too bad, and the shop is OK if you can stomach the inflated prices. Likewise the petrol is over-priced -- or at least it was when I last filled up. At peak times in the summer it can get quite busy, but I've never known it to be heaving -- I suspect there are much busier motorway services elsewhere in the UK.
