Stay away - this guy is a scam artist. He'll draw as much money as he can, and then walk away from…read morethe job leaving a disaster behind. He does poor quality work that you'll have to pay more to fix later. We've had several carpenters come in to repair what he did - and they couldn't believe how bad his work was. He worked almost a year on our 3 month renovation, and then when he got to the part that required actual hard work, he just skipped town.

Hired Ethridge to patch walls from photos and other hangings, paint, redo hardwood floors, repair a…read morescreened-in patio, fix two showers, replace rotted steps, and general clean up at a property being prepared for rental. Apparently there was miscommunication as the contract as written didn't encompass all work intended. This review will focus on what WAS done per the contract. Walls and ceilings were painted but several spots were not "cut in." Borders where masking tape was applied to the ceiling were left unpainted after they removed the tape. (See photos) A room asked NOT to be painted was painted anyway. Hand-painted appliques which could not be redone were thus destroyed. We DID ask that the insides of closets be painted. When we lifted the shelves in one of the closets, we found they had only painted down to the shelves. The areas covered by the removed shelves were unpainted. Masking tape was left at the ceiling of a closet. (See photos) Paint from the walls ran down onto the baseboards in places. Paint smudges were on wall fixtures in places also. (See photos) Our music room has solid wooden paneling. This was apparently not treated for painting as the paint applied is peeling off in sheets a little over a week later. Can be peeled off with a thumbnail. (See photos) Many unpatched holes remain in the walls. Though we thought refinishing of the hardwood floors was requested, apparently that desire didn't make it into the contract. NOTHING was done to them but there are signs of spilled paint and poor clean up in two or three places as there are now hazy light blue/gray patches (i.e. the same color as the walls were painted) on the floor boards. (See photos) The repaired patio steps seem sturdy but were left unpainted. The patio screens were replaced but no wipe down of the aluminum patio framing was performed. While this may not have been specifically requested in the contract, it seems it would have been SOP for a rescreening job. We have hired another contractor to attend to these deficiencies and the intended but undone requirements.
