Sad representation of Christ by the Pastor - My family and I are farely new to the area and my kids (daughter 5yrs old) and (son 9yrs old) brought home an invitation from school for the Trunk-or-Treat event. My family thought it would be a good time. Where I come from everyone participates and shares and welcomes anyone. I was handing out candy to little ones and they were very polite and welcomed, while my wife and kids looked around. The Pastor first asked me if I was a member of the church, second, if I was alone, then lastly, who I was. Then the Pastor said that I could not hand out candy because he didn't know me and I had an out of state license plate. I introduced my self, but that was not good enough. Even after I introduced my self and explained where we lived and who I was with I still did not feel welcomed. It was a very uncomfortable feeling knowing a man of Christ was so non-welcoming and so judgemental. I was next to a car that was playing rap music with curse words blaring and one of the kids had a fake gun tucked in the front of his pants. How could that be welcome and not me and my family? I had kids and families coming to my car and not the car next to me. It is so sad to see people representing the church in such a way even Christ would not approve of. I will never go back and recommend anyone new to the area to steer clear. I hope this helps in your descision making. read more
