As someone who has a background in visual arts, I'm always excited to visit Newfields! Art in Bloom, The Lume immersive experiences , Winterlights and of course Harvest Nights are some of the annual events I look forward to. Last night was the third time I attended Harvest Nights. This was the first time I arrived before it was dark so it was less spooky and a bit more wholesome in the daylight. We arrived at 7 and stayed until about 9 pm to experience everything lit up after dark. When you arrive, you're surrounded by stacks of pumpkins in every size, shape, color and type imaginable. Beautiful Fall arrangements are everywhere you look. The Fungi Forest was something new I haven't seen before. Very cool! I felt a bit like Alice in Wonderland encompassed by giant mushrooms towering above illuminated by strategically placed neon lights. One of the highlights of the event was the Cutwater Lounge--a 21+ space upstairs in the Lily House transformed into "Mischief Manor" only for Harvest Nights. The bartender told me this was the first year having this feature. We had a flight of the Cutwater alcoholic beverages that included a snack mix of tasty treats. The Mule and Espresso Martini were our favs with the margarita coming in 3rd. Cutwater's take on the Lemon Drop (which is a drink I typically enjoy) was strong yet tasted a bit watered down. The adult only experience wasn't very well marked (it's upstairs) and signage in general--starting at the parking lot entrance--needs improvement. I'm not sure we would have known about the adult area had it not been for the nice lady who sold us some yummy sweet potato fries with sage and bourbon maple dip. The Spider Stomp, Ghost Train and light show projected onto the Lily House all add to the overall experience. The seasonal food and drink options are great albeit a bit pricey. Passed on the $12 Bavarian pretzel but had to try Elysian Pumpkin Ale and wanted to try the cider but $14 was a little steep. It's not necessary to spend $20 for premium parking that they pressure you to purchase when you first pull into the lot. I recommend getting there early and wearing some of your best walking shoes. It's a cashless campus so good to keep that in mind. Love Newfields and can't wait for Winterlights in a couple months! read more

We went at 7:30 which was the perfect time since it was just starting to get dark. The line was long but move pretty quickly. We loved all the lights and decorations. There were tons of decorated pumpkins throughout Newfields. There is a food/drink garden area in the middle with benches to take a break if you want. We ordered the Marsh & Mallow Spooky Campfire Cocoa (spiked hot cocoa) and we all liked it and was comforting on this chilly night. The Lily house had a long line but we enjoyed going in and seeing all the spooky details inside. read more

It was my first time going to this and it was so fun. I bought tickets and didn't realize until after that it was for adult night, didn't know that was a thing! It was awesome! I would love that for winter lights. I've gone every year for the past 6 years. The pumpkins, oh the galore of pumpkins were so fun. They had so many real ones, which I learned get donated to the elephants at the zoo when they're done. Love that! They have so many that are lit up and not real but they still look cool. Makes walking outside not so eerie. Multiple cool sculptures to see throughout and the Lilly house was cool! The outside portion took us about 90 min to get through and that included waiting in line for the Lilly house. When we arrived they had a cobweb headband making station, so fun! The DJ played music like 2010 and back. Great music and it took forever to get outside. read more

This is a great event for anyone who loves all things fall and Halloween! This year they added more it seemed. The mushroom forest was pretty as you strolled along. I always like the hundreds of glowing pumpkins along the paths with the fog. So many to see! They even have them hanging on the trees. The Lily House is kind of Haunted Mansion feeling and it's great that you can also go inside it! The glowing pumpkin buckets tree was so cool! I hope they bring that back next year or add to it. The room with the musical sheets swirled all throughout the room was neat to see! Until next year! Boo! read more

Last night I experienced this fantastic event for the first time. Arriving just before sunset is the perfect time and there's an opportunity to sit with food and drinks in a beautiful seating area to kill time if needed. There were about 3-4 food and drink vendors with themed food. You could carry your drinks through the trail while looking at all of the beautiful art pieces and Halloween pumpkins. They did an amazing job decorating the Lilly home where you could go to the second floor for a bar area. The light show outside of the home was amazing. I was extremely impressed with all the beautiful photo opportunities. This is a great family event read more

Every year, my friends and I go to Harvest Nights, but this year my fiancé and I decided to make it a special Halloween double date! As always, we loved the spooky pumpkin decor--there are literally hundreds of pumpkins all around, and they do such a great job setting the spooky mood. While they pretty much keep things the same every year, it's still a wonderful fall activity that never gets old. Since it was Halloween, they had one of the main museum halls open with a DJ spinning 90's to early 2000's music, which was a good time! They also had a best costume contest (we didn't participate, but it was fun to watch), some great vendors like Uncle Nearest whiskey and a gin sampling station. There was a booth offering spooky cocktails with the spirits being sampled, which was a nice touch. We grabbed the spiked apple cider with Uncle Nearest bourbon, and let me tell you, it was divine! As millennials, of course we had to hit up the photobooth. One of the coolest additions this year was the spooky decor at the Lilly House--something we hadn't seen before since we typically visit during the regular or Christmas seasons. It really added to the night! Overall, we had a great night and loved the Halloween twist on this event. Newfields is getting better and better at these seasonal types of events. While the event is called Harvest Nights, rest assured that there's a strong emphasis on Halloween and this is not simply some Fall festival of sorts. If you know the Newfields setting, then you already know that it's really a pretty cool location for this type of event with historic areas, lots of greenery, and a ton of room to place displays. During Harvest Nights, you wander through thousands of glowing jack-o-lanterns in the Garden on the "Pumpkin Path of Peril." You can feel the Ghost Train, see Three Graces during a party at Mischief Manor (projected on Lilly House's facade), and join a party actually inside Lilly House. There's even a premiere level for the event that will provide access to Lilly House's second floor (which has never been opened for public). As is always true for Newfields events, snacks and beverages are available (for purchase) with sponsors such as Elysian Brewing, Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey, Hotel Tango, Just Pop In!, and Half Liter. Parking can be a mess during prime times as this has become a very popular event. Accessibility is good, though not what I'd consider great. This is particularly true with the premium level, though Newfields is pretty good historically at accommodation. A word of note: Non-members always pay more for these events, though special "value nights" actually are priced the same for non-members as members ($15 for youth, 6-17), $24 for adults, $22 for seniors 55+ with premiere package at $44. It's worth noting, however, that the week leading up to Halloween is considered "peak" every single night. So, pricing is the highest. I'd check the website for details, though this is a decent investment for those with families. While some folks do balk at this due to pricing, as a once a year event it's actually pretty cool and I've seldom heard people complain about it. I do wish access was just a notch higher, however, if you're with a companion, loved one, or family you should be just fine and can easily partake in all the major features of the event. As a matter of note, memberships at Newfields are fairly reasonable in pricing. For example, $55 for an individual or $85 for a couple. Newfields has events throughout the year and members ALWAYS get discounts. Access Pass holders should also explore event options as they can differ! read more

One of my favorite Newfields visits each year is Harvest Nights. The weather is not too yucky and the pumpkins and decorations are awesome. I love walking through the grounds and seeing how many hummingbirds I can find carved into the pumpkins. My mother loved hummingbirds. But the other carvings are great too. The Lily House is decorated with Halloween decorations as well and, as long as it's not too crowded in there, I like to take my time and really take it in and maybe get some ideas too. Outside of the Lily House is a video displayed on the front of the house. There are some nights too where they have trick or treating for the kids, and adults if you want to partake. It takes about 1.5 hours, unless you're a fast walker and not a looker. :) Don't forget to stop by the gift shop after. read more

Harvest Nights definitely gave what it was supposed to give! It owes me & my family absolutely nothing. We arrived last night, and it was cold...and rainy, but we were determined to have a good time. After we received our bags for Art or Treat, we were checked in and began walking the winding Pumpkin Path of Peril. All of the outdoor artwork and sculptures were illuminated eerily, and it definitely set the tone for our group (ages ranging from 5 years old to 51). Good times were had by all. Once we reached the snack area, we stopped for provisions. Two bags of caramel corn, one Bavarian pretzel, hot cocoa, spiked hot cocoa (super yummy and did its job keeping me warm) and a beer later, we were back on the path. The treat stations were nice, but I think what we enjoyed most were the lighting effects. There were floating apparitions in the trees of the wooded areas. There was an entire show projected onto the front of the Lilly House! And I definitely cannot forget to mention the family-friendly haunted house that was hosted inside. I think my 10-year-old nephew enjoyed that the most out of our spooky bunch. This was good, clean family fun and the kids had a ball. If I were to do this again, I'd pay closer attention to the weather! read more

Love, love, love Newfields. Have been a member for years. We regularly come to many special events throughout the year. I do feel Harvest Nights is a weaker option, though, compared to many of their other special events. Especially after going two years in a row, I realized just how much was repetition and I was hoping for a few new surprises. The light show projected on the mansion was the same, all the Lily House rooms were decorated (mostly) the same, food options were the same, etc., and some of the spaces were pretty sparsely decorated so you're just walking in the dark (especially towards the end). I don't think Harvest Nights is worth the money unless they do a major refresh each year. Excited for Winter Lights again this year, though! read more

Pumpkins! Harvest night at Newfield is the absolute most fun experience. My girlfriends and I decided to wrap ourselves up in our best scarves and head on down to new fields to check out all of the pumpkins and ghosts we could handle. The grounds were decorated beautifully and the staff was friendly and welcoming and super accommodating for us. We especially loved visiting the mansion which was beautiful both inside and out. I have to say though, my favorite part of the evening was definitely The Haunted train! I loved being able to get a nice drink to warm me up about halfway through the experience, and I really liked all of the new features that were present this year. It is especially fun on a pretty fall night to grab a few beers and go... but there were a lot of stryofoam pumpkins and I think it was just kinda short for the amount.. we weren't overly impressed. Been here two years in a row now. For repeat customers: lower those expectations as it doesn't change as frequently as I think most of us would hope it would. Many of the same features, small changes. It leads me to suggest going every other year unless this is your jam. When comparing to winter lights, however, I do think Harvest reigns the (pumpkin) king. More diversity in the options of things to see, better flow, all around better experience. I joined some friends and don't know what I was signing up for. This is cute idea. I enjoyed walking through and seeing the decorations. The decor is kind of repetitive and lacked variety to me. Lots of pumpkins and more pumpkins and more pumpkins. There were cute photo opps throughout the trail. There are options for snacks/drinks. I did try the apple cider adult drink and it was yummy! I think kids would love this place if they don't mind walking. Definitely pay for the premier ticket if you don't want to wait in a long line. That was worth for an old lady like me! read more

This was my first visit to Harvest Nights. We were lucky to get a fall night with 75 degree temps. I opted for the 730 slot. Upon arrival, I was taken back by the line. There were no less than 200 people and we were there 10 minutes before our slot. The line moved fairly quickly. I love fall and I love pumpkins. We loved every inch. My only complaint is the photo opp area for families. The light is absolutely terrible so you turn out as a white blob. Given the artistic nature, I'm shocked they haven't mastered this. I also recommend having a staff member at this location to take photos of families. Usually there is someone you can trade off with but some people are afraid to ask. They have snacks for purchase. I highly recommend checking this out. We loved this exhibit more than the winterlights. We will definitely make this an annual visit! read more

We made a family visit to Harvest Nights and we're pleasantly surprised to find several new scenes and pleased that some of our old favorites were still there. The weather was decent and it made the trip a little more enjoyable than the rainy day earlier in the day. The worst part was the parking. It probably took about 20 minutes to get into a parking spot. They do have people directing the traffic but it was still very crowded. We had bought tickets for a 7:30 time slot and it was almost 8 before we got parked and waited to get into the ticket scanning area. I guess next time we'll plan to arrive earlier and allow for the traffic. It is definitely worth the trip. read more

This was my first visit to Newfields during the Harvest Nights and I think it was a pretty enjoyable experience. The parking was directed perfectly, which is something I was a bit worried about since the email prior to your visit asks that you arrive directly on time - no later and no sooner. My friends and I have looked forward to going to this event for a while now, as it's something that we often hear about, but never actually acted on. When first entering, it was pretty laid back but we were definitely under the impression that the first path was everything to it. For the most part, we just followed the crowd and eventually found our way to the rest of the attraction. Unfortunately, these crowded areas also became harder to maneuver because they had the more "intriguing" attractions. I think this is the only gripe I have about the event because of the fact that this can cause a hindrance to your experience. There's some interactive videos played in some areas, and on the sides of the pathways, there's statues and sculptures created by artists, which I think should get a major shout out! At the same time, these things can be hard to see when you're shuffling with the crowd and looking to get out of the commotion. Despite this, the experience still remained pretty positive. The lights were great and I actually really enjoyed the pumpkins with different images and faces. I was actually surprised by the fact that you can't hear any of the traffic nearby as well. It may have been the music and overall chatter that helped drown it out, but that's definitely something I was a little worried about going into the beginning of the experience. read more

We went in 2022 and 2023 and it was really awesome. Recommended it to others because of the unique and cool special effects. Last year, in 2024, it changed to cheap effects. No holograms on the path or in the mansion. The pictures in the mansion did not have the eyes that follow you. Lots of missing details small and large. The creepy plants were gone. The outdoor mansion projection show was just an animated cartoonish clip where before the house ever so slowly got old and creepy before your eyes. Very cool effect. 2024 was cheaply done and not worth the ticket. Not going in 2025. read more

Hooray, Newfields! As big fans of Winterlights each year, we were so excited to see an outdoor experience in the fall as well. Especially during social-distancing times, it was wonderful to have a safe activity to serve as a fun adventure out of the house. The tickets were expensive. At about $25 a person, it was worth of it for the two of us to check it out, but I imagine that if we had kids as well, it'd be debatable. It was clear that they'd put in a lot of effort decorating the grounds, so I understand where the cost comes from, but do think that it probably limits people from attending. Parking took about ten minutes, as the parking lot was packed and we had to keep circling until someone left. We therefore were a few minutes late, yet the people at the door were fine with it (relief!). They scan your tickets outside, right before you walk into the fest. You're immediately greeted with a pumpkin-filled walkway and dried, leafy archways. It was photogenic and there were a lot of portraits and selfies happening. We then entered the fest and found Gordon's Ice Cream, Sun King, Pi Pizza food truck, a few non-profits, a popcorn and lemon shake-up table, a pumpkin-decorating station, live music and more. I was absolutely starving, so we went straight to Pi Pizza. They weren't taking any more orders for the day and I really needed solid food, so we only stayed for about an hour. There was a long line outside of the Newfields beer garden to order their food (I saw cute Goose the Market charcuterie trays coming out of there), but we didn't want to spend our time waiting in line. We walked around and enjoyed all of the cute decorations, beautiful grounds and great weather. Besides that, there's nothing really quote-on-quote "to do" as an adult, so we enjoyed sitting on a bench, finishing our beer and chatting for awhile. My husband was confused why some of the grounds were blocked off for the night event even though they looked awesome. I get that they're separate events but it would be cool if you could at least walk around the night time portion during the day without it lit up. I also imagine that this event would be super fun to bring kids to, as there was a lot of room to run around and explore. There were cute kids everywhere! read more

I thought this was a really fun event, and my kids (10 and 12) loved it as well. We'd been to Winterlights before, but this was our first time at Harvest Nights. It was raining, but that didn't deter us at all, and all the employees/volunteers were in good spirits too. The movie broadcast on the Lilly house was AMAZING, and all the colorful jack-o-lanterns made for some seriously awesome photos. We also really loved the ghost train. I could have stayed there for hours, but we were getting rained on and there were other groups coming in behind us. I became a Newfields member this year, and it's well worth it just for the discount on this and Winterlights. Everyone was masked up, and I felt very safe and comfortable. read more

A week ago, my mom and I got the chance to go to the Newfields Museum to experience their Harvest Nights festival. All throughout the month of October, Newfields transforms its outdoor grounds into a spooky maze designed to amaze visitors. From spooky decorations to themed treats, Newfields has it all. And if you wanted to go to Newfields outside of the holiday season, there's even more to see and do. During Harvest Nights, most of the experience takes place outside. Because of this, you get to walk through the beautiful outdoor areas that surround Newfields. These areas include The Garden, the Virginia B. Fairbanks Art and Nature Park, Lilly House, and the Garden Terrace. While beautiful during the daytime, once night falls it transforms into a Halloween wonderland. Complete with pumpkins, scarecrows, spiders, and other Halloween decorations, you'll be sure to have the time of your life! The whole experience itself takes about an hour and a half and is perfectly suited for all ages. With no jump scares or gory exhibits, all members of the family will be able to enjoy themselves. However, it can be dark at times, so make sure to keep an eye out for the younger members of your party! Harvest Nights is more than spectacular sights. Once you enter onto the grounds of the Garden Terrace, you'll be able to buy all kinds of delicious spooky treats. All are reasonably priced and are sure to make sure that you have plenty of energy to enjoy the rest of the night. And for those who may be worried about pricing, Newfields offers all kinds of discounts and membership options for those who live in the Indianapolis area. I've gone to Harvest Nights the last two years and it has been a great time. Fall is my favorite season and I love the spooky vibe the harvest nights gives off without actually being scary (this is not at all an event to scare)! You walk through SO MANY pumpkins and there is an area in the front and around the middle of the walk to get drinks and snacks! It's not the longest walk but if you go slow and take it all in, I think it would take about an hour! Parking is easy since they have so much space and parking is free at the event! Tickets for the Harvest Nights were $25! Very fun and easy event to attend in the fall. read more

A fun family event for the fall! Lots of pumpkins, talking pumpkins, and ghosts. The show they project on the manor is the best part, you have to watch the entire thing, so neat and perfectly done! Our son (3 years old) loved it! He still tells us what the talking pumpkin said which is so cute. Would definitely recommend. You can get through it all in about an hour. The only thing that is stressful in my opinion is that it's a rain or shine event and it was pouring before our scheduled time so we weren't sure if we'd be able to go and if they don't close you lose your money, no refund. A great fall activity for the whole family. Newfields made this a MUST SEE event during a crummy COVID year. The detail and work that went into the decorating is mind boggling. So many gourds and pumpkins in so many ways. I loved looking out over the abundance of them at night. The scarecrows were my favorite display. Such originality!! The Ghost Train was cool also. I did not think the Lilly Manor interior was very good. Many more decorations could have been added without harm to the delicate furnishings. However, the holographic show at night was FABULOUS!! I watched it three times and saw something new each time. While I really loved Harvest at Newfields I do think it is cost prohibitive for most families. I know it sold out every night so it doesn't seem like it but I also know several people that did not go because they simply couldn't afford it-- especially with our COVID crisis. read more

Our family (4 adults + 2 kids, ages 3.5 and 4.5) attended Harvest Nights last night, and it was a treat! This was a great experience for our kids - not too spooky, just the right length, and enough to look at that they were excited the whole time we were there. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are timed to allow some spacing between groups. It's nice that there aren't big rushes and lulls in groups entering, but after you get in at your designated time, the experience is go at your own pace, so we did notice crowding. Nothing that would've been strange in pre-pandemic times, but more than we would've liked with COVID! On that note, masks are required the whole time you're at the Harvest, and there are staff members around helping to ensure people are keeping masks on unless they were eating or drinking. This was the perfect length for our kids - we spent just over an hour from start to finish (not including a stop at the refreshments tent for a little snack!). Older kids may find it a bit less exciting, as there's a lot to look at but nothing they can touch or otherwise engage with, but it was just enough for kids our age! We especially loved the Manor - be sure to continue walking a bit past the initial crowd! There was plenty of space for our group to sit and watch the show unobstructed just a little further down the path. Harvest at Newfields is now separated into two events, the day and night time in 2020. Previously, there was no night specific events. Honestly between the two options, I would hands down suggest the night time option if you are 1. able to get tickets and 2. able to afford the tickets. Why I will just say Ok : 1. The cost. Honestly, if I wasn't a member and didn't have access to preview events, there is no way to justify this cost. Sadly, I can't imagine that many families being able afford this, especially at night. 2. Harvest days is some what of a let down. I get it that Covid has put somewhat of a damper on things, but most of the grounds that are used at night in are blocked off. It just seems like hey, we have a few vendors selling beer and some snacks , plus some pumpkins oh, and Instagram-able photo setup. Harvest Days- - The outside garden area has pumpkins -they had a handful of games, i.e. large connect four, to play -Community vendors vary on the weekend depending on the group that they are focusing on. - Handful of spots staged for you to take photos - Museum is open to enjoy - You can paint you own pumpkin for $5 Harvest Nights - Thankfully they have people directing traffic for parking as it was packed. - The amount of detail in the ghost train and graphics used for the entrance and show on the Lily House were amazing Tips: * you are required to book time tickets ahead of time. Many nights/weekend days sellout *If you are a member, always look for member preview days to reduce your cost and get an early sneak peak Covid Times: - Masks required, so just don't complain and wear the damn things. read more

My only complaint was it was CRoWDED even w timed entry and lots of lines for different photo ops but it moved nicely....just would have been nice to have more space.... besides that, the parking was easy. I was able to take my wife to opening day of this new fall festival at Newfields. The fifty acres of grounds have around 5000 pumpkins transforming the museum grounds into a colorful gathering spot for visitors. With the aid of a donation from the Lilly Foundation, the museum is making an effort to de-stigmatize the notion that art museums are stuffy. This was a family friendly event. Not only are there pumpkins, but there is a kids play area with a pumpkin orange bouncy pad that is huge, a mini straw maze, pumpkin painting, and a petting zoo from McClure's Orchard. There are photo ops (I spared you by editing my shots for uploading) throughout. There is also the beer garden. Sun King is on the south end and has a nice tent and seating area. The north end has several other beer and cider vendors from around town. There is also a food alley that has Sahm's, Goose the Market, some other non-food vendors, Oliver Winery, and West Fork Whiskey. There was live entertainment in the food tent/dining area and a DJ was playing music across from Oldfield's. A schedule is online at the Newfield's website for the entertainment over the four day event. And if you didn't get enough from all those things, your ticket gets you in to the museum to see "Infinitely Kusama" on the 4th floor of the art museum. Note that even if you have online tickets to get into the festival, you will need to check in at guest registry in the museum to get a time ticket for when you can enter to see this unique exhibit by artist Yayoi Kusama. Even with a time ticket, you may need to wait awhile (about 20 minutes for us) to get into the exhibit. Note that you only get to spend 45 seconds in the room with the art installation and only two people can enter at a time (children and babies count as full adults, so be aware.) You also have to check your purse/bags outside the exhibit. Inside, the artist has created numerous lighted pumpkins with black polka dots in a room filled with mirrors on top and all the sides. When I first walked in, I was a bit disoriented because the tiny room looks enormous once inside. Very cool and something worth the wait. I highly recommend getting tickets online to save money. Also, becoming a member will also save you serious dollars. I hope this event continues to grow/evolve over time like the Winterlights festival has. Harvest nights was so fun! They did a great job with the decorations and the display on Lilly House was so impressive! Recommend going later at night to try to beat crowds, but everyone did a great job Social distancing and wearing masks. read more

Newfields does it again! An awesome outdoor activity to do with friends, family, children etc this fall especially with covid. First step- I 100% need to recommend that you become a Newfields member if you are not already. It is so worth the price. You can buy a digital membership for yourself, for 2, or for the fam online than a physical card too! If you go a few times a year it pays for itself. Harvest is by appointment only to be able to control the amount of people inside so get your tickets early. Let me add another perk of being a member is you get to do things early- like the first day of Harvest and it was 50% off, score! How can you start fall without pumpkins, burnt organge, oktoberfest beer, chillier weather, and being outside(in this instance being outside of beautiful Newfields). Before anything else, Newfields is an amazing place and a true gem for Indianapolis. As you enter into the Harvest event you are immediately greeted by pumpkins, rows and rows of pumpkins. The first thing our group decided to eat was having food, and Half-Liter was catering the event. Of course, I had Half-Liter who I have previously reviewed. Friends got Sun King beer, hot links, and soy tacos. The seating are was beautifully set up with dried corn husks. We ended up doing a Oliver Winery tasting that was free. Each of us had 3 tastings each. We were heading to the beer and then got distracted at petting zoo. There was a "lil sebastian", pigs, goats, ducks, turkeys, and rabbits. As we moved on the to beer garden, friends kept having beer while others did the beer tour. They got a cool souvenir glass to keep and try different local breweries. Near the beer garden they had pumpkins everywhere. A pumpkin house, a pumpkin river, and hay to sit. It was a great place for pictures. Before we left I was able to make a tea towel with potatoes cut out in shapes with paint that was free to partake in. Pumpkin painting was $5. There was also another craft table for making wheat and flower tiara's and in my case making a boquet. Overall, it was an amazing experience. Harvest at Newfields is a must see for the Halloween season. This adventure is filled with thousands of pumpkins all lit up for a night of freight. A few surprises along the way. Conveniently located right off 38th St. and Michigan road with plenty of parking. Dress warm the entire adventure is outside. There is an opportunity to buy a few refreshments along the way as you enjoy your walk through the pumpkins. read more

Harvest was a great experience for us! It was just my boyfriend and I -- we purchased the package that allowed us to have apple dippers, pretzels and do some pumpkin painting (loved those quick-dry paint markers) while we were there. We had a great time with the farm animals, too -- petting the baby goats, piglets, and holding the bunnies and meeting Lil Sebastian (plus talking to the farmers/ staff). Also THE PUMPKINS!!! There were pumpkins everywhere and the decor was beautiful. As members, the price was also perfect. We enjoyed beer/ cider from the beer garden and enjoyed being able to wander the grounds with it while enjoying other parts of the event. The beer garden and all the activities were conveniently located near enough to each other but still allowed for a fantastic walk around Newfields. It truly felt as though you were discovering new things to do around every corner. We didn't make it to the vendor area and live music until after dark but that was kind of cool as it was a capstone for the evening. The only negative was that the carmel-apple station was bee city and I sort of felt like there was the potential for them to get stung while making our snacks - but the set-up of fresh cut apples and hot carmel was amazing! read more

What a fun event for a Family!!!! We took our niece on Saturday. Arrived at noon and enjoyed three packed hours of fun!!! Loved that they had make n takes!! We purchased the pumpkin pack. Chose this to ensure we got two pumpkins to paint. We really didn't need to purchase in advance as there were plenty of pumpkins. But the harvest bag that came with the pack was really nice and came in handy to carry everything we picked up along the way. Especially the pumpkins because you could just carry them into the museum. Nice selection of paint pens to pick from while painting the pumpkins. Tea towel painting was fun. The flower pot decorating with corn husks, unique but wish there were other items to use. Hay maze.... disappointing as I thought this was going to be something adults could enjoy too. And it was just hay kids could play on. Pumpkins... pumpkins... pumpkins everywhere!!! It was awesome!!!!!! Curious what happens with all of them after the event is over. If we didn't have our niece, other than the culinary event, there really wouldn't have been much for us to do. So glad we brought her. read more

Harvest Days - 2020. Well, I was super bummed in 2019 when I had to work during the same time the Harvest festival was offered as a short-term festival. I was so thrilled to learn it was coming back as a month long day AND nighttime experience that I bought a membership! I have worked in the non profit sector since moving back to Indy after college in 2014 and have never needed to own a membership to any of our arts/cultural organizations because so many arts organizations allowed free general admission for similar workers, my husband also works in one of these groups too- but we decided that 2020 would be a good year to support one of our local arts organizations with a membership, and Newfields fit our needs perfectly! I can't compare to last year but I was comfortable on today's member preview day for Harvest Days with all safety and social distancing precautions, and of course with all the beautiful pumpkins. My husband and I wandered the grounds for hours just admiring the work and installations. I do plan to go back for their activation weekends and we have already bought our tickets for the Harvest Nights experience for later this month. Amazing work, Newfields! The 2020 Harvest Night was freakin awesome. The ghost train experience, mischief manor show, kinda like Disney's hunted mansion projected on the Lily mansion, the mummy playing tennis projection, and trails lit with varieties of pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns. Newfields outdid themselves this year. Highly recommended. read more
