I have been here for bingo, trivia, food truck and Sunday brunch. All amazing experiences. Huge selection of wine. The cider is my favorite. The food truck is a great addition providing other options if you don't or forget to bring your own food. Ambiance is amazing too. If it's too loud inside you can relax outside with a beautiful view. Unfortunately the food was sub par. It tasted like warmed up frozen food. The food literally tasted like freezer burn. I wanted to love it as this place is so close, but couldn't. That's saying something considering this is outA in the wildness. Mediocre would have been considered excellent!! The music was great! The wine selections were also. Very pleasant drive to this winery location. I like the large facility with room inside and outside to enjoy. Some yard games were set up outside and we enjoyed watching others play. The wine tasting was nice and they had some delicious cheese for sale. Unfortunately the food truck was closed the day we were there so we would like to go back when that is open. I contacted this venue over a month ago, and Christina said that Stephanie was incharge of the events and that she was going to give her my email to get in touch with me and talk about details , that it probably was going to take her a while since she was recently getting back from vacation and needed to review her emails.... Two Weeks Later: Nothing.. so i emailed Christina again and once again said she was going let Stephanie know to get in touch with me. ANOTHER Three Weeks Later: NOTHING.. so i emailed Christina one last time to tell her that if they werent available for my event to please let me know so that i could search for other venues.. TWO MORE WEEKS LATER: and Christina never replied to my last email. This venue was recommended to me by various people. Horribly disappointed. We came with hopes of a great experience, but we were far from impressed. When entering and heading to the bar for a tasting we got from a server "what do you want?" This was a common greeting apparently as the next couples that followed were greeted the same way. Apparently they cannot say "hello" or "welcome to our establishment... care for a glass of wine or a tasting?" There were initially a couple workers but they tend to disappear for a long time between trying to sample the wine. Multiple staff there but had no intention of being helpful to any clientele. Mediocre wine and mediocre service. Stopped by on a Friday and we sort of crashed a wedding rehearsal, so there was a lot going on. However, the woman doing the tasting could have done a much better job of making us feel welcome. I think she spent way more time chatting with co-workers than giving us information on what we were drinking and how they process their wine. For $7 you get to try a pre-selected list of eight or so wines. I don't care for this because I always end up sampling stuff I wouldn't try/know I don't like. Which was the case with the Pumpkin wine (who does that), Sparkling Vidal Blanc and Mead. My partner enjoyed his samples because they skewed towards the sweet and I prefer dry. The Cab Fran and Chambourcin weren't too memorable, maybe too much of a black pepper taste. Depending on the day, they'll have some sort of $2 off special, like Ladies Night or Military Monday. They were serving pitchers of cider for $6 when we were there, so that was a decent deal. If you want to hangout with your buddies and prefer sweet wines, you might enjoy Harvest Ridge. read more

I'll start off by saying that we visit this winery frequently as wine club members and we have always had a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case during our recent visit, thanks to the rude girl that assisted me when I purchased some bottles. After waiting in line for quite a while, I asked for a tasting to try a wine I hadn't seen before. The girl rudely told me I could only buy bottles or glasses. This would have been fine, but I had just watched a lady have several tastings while I was in line. I didn't say anything and went ahead with my purchase. Then when I went to sign, she started doing other things and didn't even acknowledge me any further. Whoever she was, she should not be assisting customers. read more

I saw this winery listed in the Smyrna Post several times so I decided to visit with my mother-in-law on a rare weekend off. We were kindly greeted upon entering but were surprised to find out that no one knew about the tasting/tour advertisement in the post. We had to wait until the staff "saw the manager" to ask if they could honor. "What do you want?" uttered the worn down girl behind the empty bar. She would repeat the same phrase to two more groups within the next 10 minutes. A scripted wine tasting is a difficult task. "I'll pour one, then someone else can take over" she thought as she poured the first wine then disappeared. Another miserable girl slowly walked to the empty glasses. "Oh, are you on the second one?" she asked the original group. After a pour, her bones were also too exhausted to even describe the wine. "Someone else can finish this tasting" she thought as she walked away. Three more nearly frowning girls appeared, standing with their backs to empty wine glasses and expecting patrons, before we had finally had enough. A friend who is a local took us to Harvest Ridge for tasting on Saturday. The building is divided into two primary areas, a tasting room/winery in the front and an event space room towards the rear. Parking is easy with a large lot. On the weekend, there is usually a food truck set up in the parking lot. As far as I know it is not directly affiliated with the winery itself. Wine tasting is around 7 selections and is priced cheaply at $7, you also get to keep the glassware. Cider tasting is a smaller amount of choices but less money. There was an option to add glassware to the purchase for the cider tasting. DE state law says you cannot sit at the bar area for tasting in a winery (? not sure the specifics of this), so it's kind of a pain to be standing for 30+ trying wines. Staff was knowledgeable about the offerings and gave us information on each selection. Wine choices were very good and it should be noted they currently are offering a classic Rose which won an international bronze award. read more

Stumbled upon Harvest Ridge one day while we were looking for something to do, $5 for 8 samples of great wine (they seem to change the wine samples with the seasons which is awesome). Horrible Experience! We recently moved to this area and had family travel from far away and we met at the winery. The staff were unprofessional and did not honor the statements they made to our family member about their policies. We were treated rudely and they completed ignored the fact that they made statements in writing which contradicted what we were told in person. When we attempted to show them what they said in writing they said they don't care to see it and it is not correct. Management 101 is needed for this crew. We will not go back! read more

I've been to this place several times. They have a very good selection of wines that are reasonably priced. Their new ciders, which I tried for the first time today, were also pretty good. I like the venue as well. Very cute. It's kind of cool that they have this food truck competition every April. The entrance fee goes to the Disabled American Veterans, and you get a souvenir wine glass and a tasting. Since this business is fairly new, once in a while there are glitches and such which can be annoying and cause some inconveniences, but the overall experiences I've had were good ones. read more

We have had a mixed bag of experiences here. The wines are, in fact, fantastic. Events are often quite pricey. We have often had trouble getting served at the bar. Bar tenders too busy talking to each other or "local regulars". The food truck nights have been awful. One truck, limited cuisine, long lines, and expensive. Very disappointed with this last visit to Harvest Ridge. Been to many events here. My boyfriend and I came in today to enjoy the "sangria Sunday" and we stood by the sangria containers for over 10 mins waiting to be served. 2 other groups walked in after us. The staff seemed to be know these people and they were taken care of before us. They also were there for sangria. No one working there gave us the time of day. I became a member back in May and I am now highly considering dropping my membership due to how we were treated today. I'd rather join and drive the hour to Layton's Chance in Viola MD. where the staff seems to be nice and attentive to their customers. read more
