I really liked the feel of Harvest Table as it had a very nice ambiance and beautiful back patio. Other than that this place disappointed. The pig ear salad was the one thing we liked. However, the hamachi we ordered did not taste fresh and the octopus dish was dry and bland. Other dishes were forgettable. What really took the cake was the server brought us the wrong wine, which was more expensive than the wine we ordered, and still charged us for the wrong wine. Unacceptable in a high end restaurant like this. read more

Thank you, Brenda for contacting me and apologizing for the missteps that happened this evening. I really wanted to love NYE dinner here. The menu looked wonderful but failed to deliver and the service - from start to finish - was slow. We arrived a couple minutes after 8 for our reservation and the hostess told us it would be a few minutes. Well nearly 30 minutes later my bf asked for an update and she told him that she would check with the server. It was a few more minutes before she offered to seat us. We walked through a mostly empty dining room and received no explanation as to why we needed to wait almost 40 mins for our table. Wirh a prix fixe menu I expect fairly seamless and efficient service. We had anything but. Service was clumsy, wine arriving midway through a dish, dishes being served without flatware, men being served before ladies, uncomfortably long times between courses, no description of the dishes. The food was just ok. The starter included a goat cheese tart and I'm guessing the shells came from costco, they were hard and tasteless. And pairing that dish, which included shortrib, wirh a riesling was simply confusing. The rabbit risotto was the best dish of the night, clean flavors and well done. The steak entree tasted off, something was not right with that dish. The semifreddo needed to temper longer before being served as it almost slipped off the plate when I attempted to taste it. Overall, I was disappointed with the food and service. We didn't get out of dinner till after 11. Too long for only six courses. I expected better. read more

OUTSTANDING food and service! A must if you are visiting the Napa area. I stayed at Harvest Inn with a couple of friends and we were considering dining out for dinner but at the last minute decided to eat in house at Harvest Table. Wow did we make the right decision...the food was scrumptious! The steak dish I ordered was cooked to perfection and the chocolate layered dessert made of white chocolate mouse and peanut butter was incredible. Celebrated my 1 Year Anniversary dinner here and it was beyond delicious. We ordered Roasted Carrots, Baby Beet Salad, Grilled Foie Gras, Mary's Organic Chicken Breast, and Potato Gnocchi. The Roasted Carrots and the Chicken Breast were tops. My girlfriend said it was the best chicken she ever tasted so I wanted to try for myself. She was absolutely correct. The service was great but maybe a little too attentive. We had 4-5 people check on us and other than the chef and our server, we had no idea who the other people were. My wife and I stayed at Harvest Inn and had dinner at the Charlie Palmer Harvest Table in St. Helena in the Napa Valley. The Inn was beautiful. Our large room overlooked the vineyards and the staff and amenities were excellent. We wish we could say the same about our anniversary dinner at Harvest Table. We were hugely disappointed. We love Aureole in New York which is a Charlie Palmer restaurant, but unfortunately the magic did not get transferred to St. Helena. The room is quite ordinary with several tables in plain view of the kitchen staff entrance. The service was acceptable. The food, however, was mediocre at best. The fish was overcooked and served on a bed of coconut white rice with some kind of bland foam around the plate. The duck breast was sliced very thick and had an "off" taste. We should have sent it back and substituted something else, but we usually don't like to do that. My wife suffered with stomach cramps later that night. The desert was a strange melange of pot de creme, crumbled cake, white chocolate and hazelnuts. It did not work. We will not return to this restaurant nor recommend it to any of our friends. read more

We stayed at the Harvest Inn over the weekend and had a fabulous time! To begin, we had a private tour of the edible gardens given by Mr. Charlie Palmer himself. The next evening we had a delightful and delicious dinner prepared with ingredients picked from the gardens with wine to pair with each course at the Harvest Table. The knowledge and love of ingredients was evident in everything we tasted from the starters to the main to the dessert to the wine. I look foward to returning here soon again because with each season brings new bounty that I know they will turn into delicious plates. Delicious! We came on Christmas Day and had a fixed prix dinner - three courses. Both of us chose the parsnip soup as our first course. Delicately nuanced flavors, the soup was remarkably good. We both also chose the short rib served on polenta. The short rib and sauce was hearty and tasty. The star however was the polenta. Again, the chef's deft hand was evident in this perfectly seasoned dish. Dessert was just plain good. I chose the cake while my husband chose the pot du crepe and we shared. Very enjoyable. We had been wine tasting earlier and I'm not a huge drinker so I appreciated that we could get a half bottle of a very good white paired with the soup and each of us got a red wine to pair with the rib. My husband's glass was so well priced from a vineyard that we are familiar with. I had a special pour from the part of the list that was the som's picks and was thankful that I could purchase a small pour ( which the waiter poured generously) The wine list is extensive featuring many local wines. Service was excellent and the setting was lovely. A little pricey, but not many places were open Christmas and we were very happy with our choice to eat here. read more

Thought this would be a great idea. We had a party of 10, and made a reservation after what we thought was decent research. We were wrong. I won't go into the gory details, but when half of the food is horrible, you know you've made the wrong choice. When you ask the manager to come to your table, so you can have a polite conversation with him, and some kid shows up who has no idea how to deal with customers, you know it will not end well. I had the pleasure of dining here during restaurant week 2018. The menu was excellent and the level of flavors was exquisite. Our server Zumi was on top of her game and very helpful in our selections. Reservations were made a few days ahead of time and we were actually running late due to weather so I called the restaurant and they were happy to move our reservation no questions asked. The restaurant is on the smaller side but don't let that fool you .It's charming, welcoming and quaint. The temperature inside was perfect. The simplicity and complexity of the dishes were in true Napa fashion. The bar is absolutely beautiful place to sit and drink. We sampled one main appetizer , 6 oysters and did the dine downtown menu with the wine pairing. The cost for the 3 course was $36 and wine pairings were $21 for three samplings of a 2 oz wine The oysters weren't too salty and very creamy . The carpaccio was beautifully presented and balanced and the truffle emulsion was a nice complement . 1st Course- Chilled Shrimp Spring Roll Cucumber Salad with a Cilantro Peanut Chutney this dish was very simple yet had all the right elements. The Cilantro Peanut Chutney was divine and complemented the crunch of the shrimp spring roll. 2nd Course Grilled Beef Tri-Tip with a crispy polenta cake, roasted mushrooms,braised endive, with a mushroom emulsion This was a beautiful presented plated dish with the right amount of texture, flavors and contrasts. The stars of the dish were most definitely the mushrooms and the grilled trip tip. OMG those mushrooms were perfectly balanced , earthy, and succulent. I would of ordered a plate of mushrooms to take home. The tri-tip was cooked to order and seasoned perfectly. The crust on the outside of the tri-ti was impressive. The polenta cake was a nice contrast to the dish crunchy yet creamy and paired perfectly with the mushroom emulsion. The only component of the dish I didn't care for was the endive. I'm not a huge endive lover but I found this particular endive too bitter for the dish. The wine pairing for the Tri- tip dish was a perfectly balanced St. Supery ,Rutherford Merlot 2013 3rd Course- Glazed Meyer Lemon Cake with toasted almonds If you love lemon you have to try this dish .So much flavor and thought with different uses of lemon for a a complete moist , lemon cake with a beautiful glaze. The toasted sliced almonds was a nice surprise and added great texture to the cake. I had a great time dining here and hope to come back in the future. This place should be on everyones list. Holy Hannah this was terrible. Came here for lunch on a Saturday. Only one other table occupied. Our server was not attentive- never checked on us once our entire meal. I ordered the Cobb no bacon and was delivered a Cobb salad piled high with bacon. I couldn't even send it back because he never came back to the table. The salad was so salty it was hard to eat. The "medium" burger came so rare my husband could hardly eat it. We waited almost 15 minutes for our check. So so disappointed. I am not sure why they got a michelin star. Our experience was pretty disappointing. First they burnt the pork chop so we had to send it back. When we got it back the pork was still raw in the middle. When I showed her the second time, the server was rude and called the manager right away even when I said there was no need to do so. The manager showed more empathy and was apologetic. The rest of the dishes were just ok. I have been to many establishments in the Napa area and this was by far our worst meal. To their credit, they did take the pork off our bill. PS: there was argument on the next table because their food never came and the server (different one) was also rude. Visited this new spot when in Napa with friends during a recent business trip. Brunch was light, varied and inventive. Among the highlights were the twist on eggs benedict, calamari, smoked salmon toast and a delicious cinnamon bun with some sort of fig jam. My favorite was a buffalo mozzarella toast with a berry reduction - amazing! Our waiter Remy was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and to our surprise, the chef came by to check on us which was a welcome touch. Prices were fair and not exorbitant for the area. Overall, the presentation, taste and service were great, look forward to coming back and trying out their dinner menu. read more

Dinner with three other adults on a weekend night. Seated in the 'patio' area where there are overhead heaters, a lovely setting. Two in our party are really sensitive to the heaters in this type of setting and we immediately asked to be moved to another unoccupied four-top table. The hostess gave us some kind of 'the reservations are arranged a certain way' baloney and refused to move us. The overhead heater was turned on almost immediately because of our nearest neighbors (further from the heater) reporting being cold. We immediately asked that the heater be turned down and were told it was either on or off, nothing in between. We asked that it be turned off or have us moved - again, refused to move us to the still-unoccupied table. I want to be 100% clear that the table we pointed to was ONLY possible as a 4-top, it could not possibly have been used in any other way ( it was in a bit of an alcove ) but again we were told that there was some 'special' way the tables were reserved and we could not be moved. Sheesh - really? So we stayed and they turned the heater off overhead. Next was wine - I am a collector and brought one special bottle and one not-as-special bottle. Asked about corkage and was told would have to check if they even accepted bottles brought in - ??? - unsure if I really understood what she was saying there, was shocked to think they wouldn't open a bottle I'd brought. Turned out she came back and said their sommelier said no corkage for Napa (and Sonoma?) wines and a 35 dollar corkage for 'non-native' bottles. Weird, seems like it would be the opposite but I guess they want to promote local industry. In any case, would have thought that the sommelier would have come to the table for patrons that bring their own wines but don't think I ever saw him or her or if I did there was no introduction. Our bottle did get decanted and a few minutes later the wait staff came back and said that if we bought a bottle from their wine menu they would comp the corkage for my bottle, which was a big plus. Next was menu - an eclectic menu with items of many different approaches that I think offer the ability to please a wide array of appetites, but without any real sense of cohesion. I don't recall any explanation of the menu that highlighted any theme other than fine dining with local ingredients. Still, a reasonably diverse menu that should please. I immediately had zoomed in to the truffle [whole] chicken shared for two people and an hour to prepare - looked delicious! Ordered that right away to get it started for me and another diner. Our companions ordered and I picked a bottle from the wine list that was fairly priced and turned out to be delicious! We were brought a breadbasket with deliciously soft and tasty sliced baguette and also offered what appeared to be jalapeno spiced cornbread muffins or wheat bread of some kind. Again, a bit weird on the thematic end. I'll skip to the end and say that the chicken was awesome and enough for three people to have shared so we took one portion home and I enjoyed it as a skilleted breakfast. Service overall was friendly and professional, if a bit seemingly random. The heat and cold cycles we experienced throughout the evening didn't bother me but the constant complaints by my dinner companions about it was unnecessary since the restaurant could have seated us elsewhere. That's one star knocked off. Because of the acceptable-but-not-great service I would like to go with 3.5 stars but can't, so knocked down to three. Would I eat here again? Sure, if someone else wanted to, or if I couldn't get a reservation elsewhere. It's a nice restaurant with good food and solid three-star priced food and a moderately broad wine menu. But first I would try any of a number of other places in Napa with great reputations and similar characteristics. read more

The room was beautiful if empty, so of course it took 10 minutes for a waiter, 5 more for tap water, 5 more for menus. The bread arrived, the bread plates came after the bread was gone. Wine prices are larcenous. BYO for corkage fee IF it's a Napa wine. No liquor license yet. The cheeseburger was worse than a Big Mac. The waitress was precious and unable to serve the proper drink or follow that difficult order of "dressing on the side". The brunch menu was unimaginative and meh. Love love love! Service was absolutely incredible, food was delicious and the wine was perfect! We ordered the cod and gnocchi and started with a very tender grilled octopus. Sandra (waitress) was such a joy and made our night perfect. We stayed at the hotel and they were super accommodating. We wanted dessert in the room and they made that happen. Best dining experience I've had in YEARS! From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we were treated with amazing care and attention to detail. The restaurant itself is designed beautifully, striking a wonderful balance between modern/sophisticated, and cozy/relaxed. We were shown to our table on the outside deck, a beautiful, romantic setting with market lights strung overhead. Next to our table was a fig tree with fresh fruit, and just beyond, we could see the vegetable gardens that generate the fresh produce for the restaurant. Talk about farm-to-table dining! The waitstaff was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and provided excellent recommendations on request. We started with the pommes dauphine, a perfectly crispy, flaky potato cigar with a delectable goat cheese fondue. We then shared the yellowfin tuna starter, which was fresh, unique, perfectly balanced, and refreshing. For dinner, I had the wild king salmon, which was prepared perfectly, and was a surprisingly large portion - I took half of it home! My fiance had the burger, which he raved about. For dessert, we shared the strawberry pavlova, a beautiful mixture of fresh berries, unexpectedly delicious sour cream ice cream, and a grand marnier sabayon. Every single item - including the three types of fresh bread and house-made butter that they bring to the table! - was phenomenal. We can't wait to come back! read more

We have been to this Restaurant three times so far. I have to say the food is absolutely fantastic. We have tried nearly every item on the menu. The food is Michelin Star Caliber. We both really enjoy this place. Two items that need to be improved upon would be Server training and crew resources in regard to refilling water and wine glasses clearing plates ECT The other item would be to 86 the classic rock music being played in the restaurant which is unbecoming of a Dinning establishment of this caliber lol. If you are a group of 4 or less, ask for a table in the south patio. It is the best seating in the Valley. Service was great from a delightful woman, a former Park ranger. Squab was delicious, and gamey as it should be. Bone Marrow encrusted sirloin steak was outstanding. Halibut crudo, served with avocado, a red pepper sauce, and pickled jalapeños was unique and fabulous. This restaurant has a formidable Napa Valley wine list. I found a bottle of Kongsgaard Chardonnay, pretty rare and a real treat. Pacing was perfect. Leave your cell phone at home, simply so you can be aware of the whole experience. read more

The food here was light, yet rich and subtly flavored. All very delicious. BUT- the service was terrible. We felt as if we must be speaking a language unintelligible to the wait staff. They just smiled and nodded and then wandered off like cyborgs, immediately forgetting why we had called them to the table. One guest ordered a prix fix meal and the dessert was never delivered. We asked them to remedy this by giving it to us to go. The persimmon Mille-feuille was great tasting but the way it was tossed into the to-go box was pitiful. Great farm to table meal. Many menu items include ingredients grown in gardens throughout the property. My wife and I split the winter greens salad - which included a champagne vinaigrette and popped sougrum in place of the often overused croutons. It was a nice surprise. Tourists from Seattle. The restaurant itself is nice but we were very much underwhelmed with the food. I had the open chicken and avocado tartine, my boyfriend had the BLT. My chicken was so cold, as in the next day left overs. The pieces were random parts of the chicken. The BLT wasn't terrible but it had a mayo or aioli that was sooo sweet, it ruined it for us. Amazing Service and setting. My friends had a delicious brunch on Sunday. The blind wines made it a fun afternoon in St. Helena and I definitely will be back to enjoy this delightful menu from Chef Levi. This was not a Happy Thanksgiving experience for us. In spite of booking weeks ago, we (a party of 2) we're stuck outside with 2 other parties of 2 in 40 degree weather. They offered blankets and heaters but it was miserably cold as was the food. The food seemed well prepared, but we won't be going back. Loved the food and experience at Harvest Table! Cocktails at the bar are top notch and make it worth foregoing the wine, even while in Napa. Service is excellent. Many of the ingredients in the salads and entrees are literally from Harvest Table's own gardens. The scallops were cooked to perfection and the sole was delicious.
