We were quoted a price of $5600 to redo our heating and air conditioning system. When we received our invoices, the total came to $6400. They gave us two invoices for the two different days they were here, and my husband signed both of them. I was not given a chance to look at either one. Not an honest repairman. If you want to be ripped off call him. We called him because our ac was blowing warm air. He acts like the most caring humble hard working man but he ripped us off. He so called repaired our HVAC and we paid over $1700 only to learn from a new repairman that Hasco should have looked for and repaired a refrigerant leak. I now have another expensive repair thanks to this man that did not care enough to do an honest job. I must mention he made 2 trips. First trip he claimed it was a broken part of AC system. Called for an ac repair. I reported to the tech that I thought my refrigerant had run out. He never checks for a leak and does not ever look at the evaporator. He claimed my problem was a capacitor. He also recommended changing other parts that were not broken but old as well as a cleaning. $ 1200 later when he's done, the ac still didn't work. Then he put refrigerant in it and everything works. He then tells me I have a leak which is what I suggested in the first place. A month later and it's not working again. Two techs from different companies come over and check the evaporator first and immediately determine the leak is in the coil. It was apparent then and now that I was lied to and fraudulently diagnosed. I trusted this tech as im not qualified to know better. I would stay far away from this company. Completely took advantage of me. And no they never called to schedule the leak detection after he determined I had a leak. read more

We had an internal leak within our water heater, and it needed to be replaced immediately. Fortunately the water heater was under warranty. My AC unit went out in the middle of this current heat wave and I took it upon myself to DIY. I did some research online and changed out a few "parts" with no success. I found Hasco on Yelp so I decided stop by their shop for additional parts and perhaps some guidance. After talking with the receptionist, Sal Jr. walked by, greeted me and asked me how they could help me. I explained my situation and Sal Jr. went into teacher mode and gave me a simple clinic on AC trouble shooting/repair as well as a military discount. I went home full of confidence and began to check items of the list and to my surprise, I received a call from Sal Jr. checking in on me after 6pm. I just happened to be in the mega hot attic checking the equipment and Sal Jr. walked me through (via FaceTime) on trouble shooting and FIXING the problem! When we baught our house, the furnace, air conditioner, and the water heater were all plastered with HASCO stickers. They put in a retrofit adaptor kit to a 33 year old furnace. To do this, they had to cut the SAFETY relay, and the gas company "red flagged" it. We had two repair men look at it and they both were shocked. They did not understand why anyone would do this as it is "unsafe." When I called the owner "Sid" he wanted to charge us to come check it out! This was after the office staff emailed me the service records which showed they sold the people a "preventative maintanance contract" that extended into 5/2017! They had done this work within the last 2 years! They said they forwarded the remaining contract to the previous owners, however, we baught the house from a bank. It was a reverse mortgage where the owner DIED! This would be funny, but the best part was when Sid and Frank decided to come to our home after all. They initially tried to say it wasn't their work, but their service record told a different story. They then tried to convince my husband that it was fine. Really? Bypassing the SAFETY IS "FINE?" The previous owners spent hundreds of dollars and were really lucky the whole house didn't burn to the ground. You decide, but I believe the gas company. They have our SAFETY in mind. I'm a DIY home owner and had my AC go out last night. Im trying to save a few bucks and went to Hasco to see if they can help me figure out what my issues may be. They were very helpful in helping me trouble shoot my possible AC Condenser issues. I had them test my capacitor (which was working fine) then later came back for them to test my contactor. My contactor was also fine but decided to get a new one from them since mine is about 25 years old and it does not cost that much for a new part...... .........only trouble I am having is getting the wiring connected right because the new one looks so different from my old one. :( read more

I called this company out to fix an air conditioner that was not cooling down. They came out, and gave us an estimate of $700.00 and told us the compressor was out and needed to be replaced. I could not afford to pay $700.00 so I sid thank you and paid him the $69.00 service call and he left. The next day I called out another heating and air conditioning company, based on a referral from a client. The other company came back with an estimate of $30.00!!! It was a cap that needed to be replaced and he fixed it that very day. Hasco was going to charge me $700.00 and probably only replace that same cap and tell me he replaced the compressor. Michael came over to assess the problem with our blower/. I should have used another company. This company charges $116/hr and they also charge for transit time. In my case I paid $30 for him to get to my house (they didn't tell me ahead of time). If I went with another company I could have just paid a flat service call fee of $59. He was friendly but I think asking customers to pay for transit is a little much. read more

The fan on one of our AC units began acting up. Sal Jr. helped me diagnose the problem over the phone. What other HVAC company does this? He recommended a new capacitor, rather than a new fan motor, and recommended that I bring in the old capacitor and his staff would test it. I also brought the fan motor for him to look at. No problems with the fan motor, but the capacitor was no good. To make a long story short, his staff wired up the new capacitor (based on pics of my old capacitor's wiring), provided some helpful directions for the install, a contact number if I had questions, and $140 later the unit was up and running!
