We had a transfer at this station from Munich and sat on a bench for 45 min. There is almost nothing at this station. I am glad it wasn't winter because there is absolutely no heat lamp or booth, so it would have been freezing. read more

The station itself is nothing special and really not worth writing about. However it looks to a nice view and sitting and waiting for the train was almost enjoyable.

There is nothing here at this station. It's a small area with no foods or drinks or even a toilet. You'll need to be sure of where you are going if you are coming here and have plans in advance. It's remote.

You can't go wrong with the bakeries and there are a handful as well as a store selling cured meats. Very popular in Austria. It's also a safe environment with no areas that look sketchy.

This station is clean, well organized, & had cafes, book stores, a supermarket, and a lounge all inside. There is even an Ibis hotel right outside the station so you could easily stay there for a late night arrival or early departure. I also saw lockers for storage if you just needed them for a few hours. You can catch a street-car outside the station or walk to old town in about 13 minutes.

Very easy to navigate. 1st floor has several restaurant to grab food, gift shops and also rest area. Next to the rest area has OBB dedicated rest area. Near the exit, there is OBB office to buy tickets or make changes. Information board os accurate and large signes directing you to the upstairs platform. You can also take the escalator next to the stairs. Must if you have a large luggage. On the screen, if the white circle blinks, that means your train has arrived and you can board. All OBB seats can be reserved for few extra €. If not, just seat at any open seats but expect to let it go for people with reservation. Definitely 5 star station. There are few very busy, dirty and unorganized trains in Europe especially ones in Zurich. Watch out for pan handlers.

The train comes every 10 minutes during commuter times, Monday to Friday or just every 20 minutes. There are only ticket machines here, the locals know which ticket to buy when purchasing a ticket. If you're a tourist, my advice is to search online before hand which ticket to buy when buying a ticket, or just ask for help from a person waiting on the platform, the people are usually helpful and if you don't speak German, most of the people are willing to help in English.

And there are traps for the unwary! There are essentially no personnel to help, and ticket purchases are done in automated kiosks with unclear instructions. One pitfall is that the tickets are only good for 4 hours, unless you specifically buy an "advanced ticket" and then validate it when entering the platform. It is assumed you understand this nuance, but if you come from a place iike NYC or Wash DC (wheremetro/subway tickets are good forever and are considered used only when you enter the startion) you can find yourself out of luck and out considerable funds. We had the experience of buying 4 tickets not realizing this, and when we tried to use them the next day, discovered we had to buy NEW tickets and were basically out the 40 Euros (about $60 bucks!!) for the now useless tickets we bought the night before and had to purchase new tickets!. Attempts to rectify this at the main train station or airport "help" desks were unsuccessful. The people were rude, rigid, and incredibly unhelpful. I am still trying to get reimbursed by writing to the S DB, but am so far unsuccessful. Beware!
