We didn't make a reservation since it was last minute and it was packed but they ended up having 1 table for two open! The atmosphere is quite nice - clean, simple, elegant. It's a nice step up from all the average casual restaurants around without feeling too dressy. The menu is not extensive but everything we tried was delicious. Shared Starter - Vitello Tonnato which was very moist, tender, and fresh. Primi pasta: - Penne mit filetspitzen was light and fresh, meat good quality. It would have been perfect for a summer evening or a night when you want something filling but not super heavy. - Tortellini Steinpilzfullung & truffle (I was hoping for the pumpkin tortellini but they were sold out so the owner recommended these) which was delicious and very filling. Second main: - Rump steak Devona had a nice kick to it. Meat tender with mushroom and shrimp sauce. The vegetables weren't anything to write home about but in the sauce they were just fine - Filet mit steinpilzen (mushrooms) was also good. Previous reviews had said the portions were small so we thought perhaps this was an Italian restaurant where you order your antipasto, primi, and secondi courses. However, after the pasta we were both quite satisfied and ready to call it a night. And since no meal is complete without a bite of dessert, per the server recommendation, we got the chocolate soufflé, which was a little disappointing in comparison to the rest of the meal as it was too dry. Besides dessert, the only other little disappointment was after dinner we asked for the check and they asked if they could bring us limoncello or grapa so we said sure. All other Italian restaurants I've eaten at its been complimentary but they added it to our bill! Ah well, we'll know for next time - no digestifs!

It's pretty pricey (dinner for 2 came to EUR 160.00, including apreitifs and one bottle of wine). The food was excellent, starters (taglietini with black truffels & vitello tonnato) were delicious and the shared huge Sea Bass was cooked to perfection and served with a really fresh salad. Some pink champange to start and a delicious Sancerre were the perfect complement. There were only a couple of faults preventing a 5 star rating: They had somehow lost our reservation, so we were squeezed onto a small table - as nice as our neighbours were, we were effectively sharing a table with them, which prevented any private conversation. Also, as the evening drew on, and particularly in trying to get the bill, the service level dropped off as the restaurant became busier. Waiting for the waiter started to become a little tedious. Otherwise, highly recommended!

Overall a great restaurant with amazing food. Definitely on the more expensive side (as the location would suggest) so more suitable for a special occasion as opposed to every day dining. A reservation is recommended, especially on the weekend.
