There are beautiful paintings of the family members and their friends throughout the house. This mansion also has one of the largest collections of ceramic and porcelain dinnerware in the country. There is a room full of old doll houses, an old Victorian glass greenhouse, and a large walled garden. Amenities include the usual parking area, tea room and toilets. There is a large green space that is used for picnics and as a play area for children. We really enjoyed visiting this one.

Outside the grounds, by the car park is a farm shop which stocks a range of local produce - as it's outside you don't have to pay to visit it. The entrance charge is quite high but I think well worth it. The house has limited opening hours so I usually tend to go in after something to eat. There is usually a treasure hunt or worksheet for children during holiday time and the old kitchen is a favourite of my family. There's a big room full of dolls houses - well worth looking at even if it's not somethign you're interested in they are fascinating examples of the genre. Staf are helpful and knowledgeable, yet unobtrusive, a good combination. Wallington is host to events throughout the year, from open air concerts to vintage car displays in the courtyard. It's a lovely place to visit, set in glorious countryside - take a walk across the lawns and down to the road and see the griffin heads! One thing I notice everytime I come here is that it's a longer drive from Morpeth than you might think as a lot of the drive is on narrow, twisting country roads.

It has a range of play equipment for children and benchs for accompanying adults to sit and watch/chat. There's two sets of swings, one for younger children and one for older children. A big boat provides climbing opportunities and a slide and fireman's pole as well as imaginative play being the captain of the boat. There's an assortment of climbing equipment for older children as well as a baby giraffe slide, little swing and playhouse for very little ones on a softer, squidgy surface. The park is well used but the equipment is frequently covered with grafitti, a complete shame. It occasionally suffers from vandalism and then the repairs can take a while, leaving the equipment cordoned off. It's a nice place to take children but could be better maintained.

The building is only about 10 years old so its fairly modern inside. It does not have a cafe which is a bit of a let down it has a good Gym and fitness suite. The staff are usually helpful and friendly in addition a concordia center is not far away with more amenities.
