My favorite pair of shoes blew out in the back from walking all over Istanbul. This shop happened to be by another repair shop I was using so I stopped in. There was a fair amount of a language barrier, as I don't know enough Turkish to explain things in detail, but thankfully the shop owner's friend that had stopped in knew English. He got it done in a half a day with materials that looked to be of better quality than my shoes were originally made of.
