    Mariquitas Con Mojo

We came here last Saturday for an early lunch. Appetizers: My fiancé has a tamale and I had mariquitas con mojo Entrees: Ropa Veija and Vaca Frita Both with yellow rice and black beans Drinks: We both had a glass of red wine and I also had a Havana Summer which is wine/lemonade mix. I didn't get my server's name but she was very nice and accommodating. I love how quaint and intimate it is. The food is pretty good. My fiancé said he's had better ropa veija but I loved my Vaca Frita.

Best Cuban sandwich in the county by far. Easy enough to share. Cuban coffee is delicious. Their empanadas are yummy too! Can't say anything bad. Love this place! Been coming here for years as take out, I've never eaten inside. Delicious!

Have driven by here many times, especially noticing their outdoor window service. Stopped in today as part of my fantastic Historic West Palm Beach Neighborhood Food Tour where we visited the best places along S. Dixie Hwy. This place is a family affair and you can feel it in the staff and the photos of the family. It's been a celebrated Cuban restaurant for over 30 years. Everything we tried... beef, pork, beans, rice and plantains were all so good with great depth of flavor. The restaurant is large and comfortable. The outdoor window seemed to be continually busy. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I had to have Cuban before I left home to LA. My dish was the steak which came out a bit on the bleu side but was very tender and flavorful nonetheless. Service seemed authentic and our server was very attentive. Ambiance was in line with a Florida type atmosphere.

I came here with some friends to celebrate my birthday. The vibes were good and the staff were friendly. I really enjoy the Cuban bread but they don't make it there. It's outsourced. Overall I felt that the food could've used a little more salt. I like Don Ramon a lot and I think I'd pick it over here. The prices are the same as Havana but the portion size is better at Don Ramon. You can get beans, rice, and plantains with your food at Don Ramon. Here you only get two sides. And the Vaca Frita here was not crispy. The additional fee per person to cut a cake is criminal. It's not like they offer you to buy an entire cake they sell. I think it's just a money grab which I don't like. Maybe it's best to come here on a date or family dinner but not for a birthday. The parking was easy as they have their own lot but it's small. The 24hr food window is a nice touch. I wonder what that service would be like.

    Walk up counter. Always busy.

This place has been highly rated for decades and despite some cosmetic changes to the building and adding outside tables remains pretty much as I remember it over 10 years ago this must speak for itself. Somewhat limited inside dining times which provides a nothing special experience. To me it is the serves all the time walk up kiosk that is the flavor of this place. A late night snack or coffee while people watching just is it. Rarely ordered a sandwich but regular potato things, crickets, fried thick bacon bits, empanada Oh and to mention again the coffee con leche.

Took an early flight back to NY, and was glad I found this 24/7 spot on my way to PBI. First I was skeptical, but I took a chance. I ordered a medium cafe con leche, one guava with cheese, and one guava pastry for later in the day, and a sandwich Cubano for at the gate. The Cubano was good, and I enjoyed it while waiting to board. Definitely a spot to return to next time when I have an early flight again.

Good spot for some Latin food, nice local staple restaurant that's well known. The 24hr walk up window is great - try some of their pastries/pastelitos In for party of 8 for late lunch- seated promptly and waiter was there to take drink orders and explain specials. Good service, they have upstairs level that can seat larger parties as well as lower area. Open parking that can be difficult to find spots but there is an additional separate parking area. Had a couple orders of the fried whole fish- came with two sides. Pretty good, tees leches and Flan desserts and cafe con leche were very good

FOOD/DRINK: 5/5 SERVICE: 4/5 EXPERIENCE: 4/5 Note: I've only used the walk up ventana window, never been inside the restaurant. This is a GO TO for when we are in WPB, especially when we are let off a late flight since they're open 24/7! We have been to Havana multiple times and it never disappoints. Hubby is Cuban and craves Havana every time we go visit family. I had a side of yellow rice one time because I wasn't feeling well and it was the best rice I've ever had. They also are known to have a really Cuban sandwich, but the true hero is the guava pastelito. They've mastered the perfect ratio of guava and it's warm and gooey. They also have the coveted IRON BEER for sale. Latest trip I got the pan con lechon sandwich, while hubby got the media noche sandwich. We took it back to our hotel to eat so it got a little soggy but still very yummy and a good size. Slight cons: -The cafecito was a little disappointing but it depends on who is working -The area is a little sketchy but worth the trip -The food is significantly more expensive on Uber Eats but it allows you to order ahead. Otherwise you are stuck waiting IRL for your food. Uber Eats doesn't ever pick up the food so you're probably gonna have to trek to get it yourself.

Good food good service just a bit over priced. If your in west palm beach and want some good cuban food i would recommend this place!

I loved this spot! Super cute inside - they have an upstairs and downstairs area. We sat upstairs and had a very kind waiter who was attentive to our large group. Tried the mango drink which was refreshing and the fish was delicious! Great presentation. Also like the tres leches. Great time.

Amazing food, super friendly staff. Susanna and Margarita were the best. We ate enough for a week! But that still didn't stop us from getting more food to go at the outside window. Gracias. See you soon.

Staff was welcoming and I cozied right up at the bar to wait for my friend. I was immediately brought chips and salsa and a cold beer. We ended up sitting at a high top and our waitress suggested that I try either carne asada from the Mexican menu or Vaca Frita from the Cuban menu. I love me some carne asada but I was intrigued but this 'fried shredded beef' that was marinated in mole and cooked in a hot skillet until crispy. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. She is used to Mexican tamales but said these really hit the spot! The only blemish on the nice was her second margarita which was the cucumber one which she didn't like at all. However, the first one she ordered (pictured) which was a different flavor was a show stopper.

We shared the Bandeja La Casa del Mofongo con Tostones, loaded with chicharrón de puerco, chicharrón de pollo, masitas de cerdo, salami, and queso. At $22.99, the portion was incredibly generous and easily large enough to share. Curious and hungry, we decided to check it out. The restaurant is located in a small shopping plaza, and I have to admit, the dark tinted windows made the place seem a little questionable at first glance. I actually got out of the car to peek inside before committing. Once I saw several people dining and enjoying themselves, we decided to give it a shot. Inside, the restaurant was tastefully decorated with a charming Dominican countryside flair. Even the bathrooms had a playful sense of humor that added character to the place. Service started off promptly, and we were seated right away with menus in hand. However, while browsing the menu, I quickly realized that despite the restaurant's name, there were very limited Puerto Rican options aside from the different varieties of mofongo. The menu was overwhelmingly Dominican cuisine, which was a bit disappointing since we specifically came looking for Puerto Rican dishes. We ordered the empanada de cangrejo to start, which was flavorful and freshly made. We also shared the mofongo with masitas fritas, and I will say the food itself was well seasoned, hearty, and satisfying. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our waitress lacked warmth and wasn't particularly attentive. What stood out the most was that she didn't know what sorullos or alcapurrias were, which caught me completely off guard considering we were searching for Puerto Rican cuisine. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but the experience didn't fully meet our expectations. If you're looking for Dominican-style mofongo dishes, you may enjoy it. But if you're specifically craving traditional Puerto Rican cuisine, this may not quite hit the mark.
