Excellent food! We had baby corn Manchurian for our appetizer. Great flavor. Only complaint is that for the cost there should be more baby corn to the dish. My husband had chicken vindaloo. My husband's honest remark was that it could have been more flavorful. The sauce needed more vinegar and spices. The chicken was fork tender. I had shai paneer, which I LOVED. The paneer was great. Some Indian restaurants serve it where it is rubbery. Not this place. It was perfect. I loved the sauce/gravy that came with it. The naan was really good too. We rarely have Indian food but this night we decided to go for it after reading positive reviews and getting a recommendation from a coworker. We just beat the lunch rush as they filled up rapidly after 6. Veggie samosas were crispy and well-seasoned. My vindaloo was awesome. Finally, a restaurant that respects you when you ask for "hot". We were given a while to review the menu and make our selections. Portion sizes are huge, so you can order a few things and share. Food: - chicken corn soup: this was delicious! We ordered mild spice. Full of flavor and just so fresh. - veggie samosa: this was my absolute favorite dish. I could just eat this! And next time I come this is what I'm getting. The veggies are potatoes and peas. Comes with 2 sauces: cilantro mint (on the spicy side) and Tarimind chutney (on the sweet side and the sauce I preferred) - veggie/chicken biryani: basically a fried rice. They did taste slightly different given one was veggie and one was chicken. Fresh flavor, ordered mild. It came with a white sauce which I did try on it and it also tastes well. Butter chicken: ordered medium spice and this was too spicy for me but my daughter loves it. A lot of broth for the amount of chicken but they do give you a huge bowl of rice on the side. Great flavor and chicken is so tender. Drink: - mango lassi: this was actually delicious. It's more similar to a thick smoothie/milkshake. I love mango so I enjoyed this drink so much. But more of an after dinner dessert type drink and not one I could drink while eating. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. Served to have a good crowd of food when we were leaving. The Basics: Haveli Indian Kitchen is located off of Dale Mabry in Carrollwood, FL. The restaurant is small and cozy and the Indian food here is extremely flavorful and delicious. Things I like: I thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. All food items were great and had the perfect amount of spice. We started with the Vegetarian Samosas (loved them) and then we had the Biryani Rice, Mixed Tandoor Platter, and Naan. This was some of the most flavorful Indian food I've had in the area and all the dishes were prepared perfectly. Things I didn't like: Nothing! Everything was great! I am American but I have been eating Indian food since I was a kid and it is my overall favorite cuisine. Haveli definitely delivers if you are in the mood for a delicious Indian meal. It's on the small side, in a little shopping center and pretty non descript from the outside, but they have some great food. To me the stand outs were the Chicken Vindaloo and Lamb Biryani, which were outstanding. The Dahl Mahkni was too rich for my taste. It tasted like too much cream was added. Other than that however the meal was fantastic. The pekoras were delicious and very hard to stop eating. The Vindaloo was very spicy, so make sure you can handle a major spice kick if you order that. Service was also impressively fast. I was almost shocked how quickly our food came out, but everything tasted delicious and fresh. Highly recommended. read more

I had a need for Indian food and this place was closest to my drive home. I ordered the vegetable pakora, channa masala, naan and a hot tea. The food was excellent. The pakoras were made of diced vegetables rather than whole, which made them more like spiced hush puppies. Very tasty with the included chutney. The channa masala was medium spiced, but it was a little hotter than I expected. It was a very nice gravy with chunks of tomato and whole spices. The naan was naan. Functional, and slightly thicker than other local restaurants, which made using it as a utensil much easier. The tea was .. unique. It came a bit late in my meal (explained that they make it fresh) and tasted exactly like a Indian chai should taste. Slightly buttery (did they add ghee?) and very different than expected, and in a good way. The only downside is that I got full fast and had to take leftovers. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. The restaurant is small with a variety of Indian music playing. I was excited to try it since I enjoy Indian cuisine. My friends and I went for dinner. The inside is small, quaint, and very clean inside. It wasn't busy at all and we sat next to a window. I can see the TV playing an Indian channel and the buffet bar where they would have the buffet set up for lunch. We were welcomed with the usual "chips" and the sauces. I always enjoy their crunch and unique sweet and tangy sauces together. It tied us over before we received our order. We ordered vegetarian samosas appetizers (2 cut in half) and a side of garlic naan with Chicken Tikka Marsala, Chicken Vindaloo and Vegetarian Vindaloo at medium spicy. I found everything tasty, but not that spicy. I was a little disappointed because at most places I've been to, have been. I prefer more heat and adding extra chili for more flavor. The samosas have potatoes and had good flavor. The entrees pair well with a little white rice and garlic naan. Overall, I found the food a little bland unless you add heat to them. I've noticed North Indian cuisine has subtle flavors compared other Indian cuisines I've tasted, which can appeal to those just starting to try Indian cuisine. These curry dishes were a nice introduction, but I'd prefer a bit more flavor. The prices average for dinner, but I would rather try their lunch buffet to get a feel of their other dishes they offer at a cheaper price. read more

Excellent place for Indian/Pakistani food. I found this place because of the KwalityCaters food truck that visited our areas years back, but they're so messed up with their schedules, no replies on their Facebook page, no more website, email doesn't work and not showing up places I decided to go to their restaurant. We had the garlic naan bread which was really good and the lamb samosas. I got the chicken madras and my friend got the chicken shahi korma. With the rice they serve both meals were absolutely incredible with flavoring and temperature. It was a Friday night so the wait was 20 minutes but they got a seated. The service was a little slow but there was only two guys in there and they were super friendly and very helpful. They did a great job at getting us our food with all the other tables they had to wait on. read more

Haveli is located in North Dale Mabry, the restaurant is pretty, love the interior of the restaurant, staff were very sweet and attentive. My friend and I had the privilege to attend their ribbon cutting ceremony, which was cool. They offer $10 lunch buffet Monday thru Friday, which is a good deal. So why 3 stars? The food wasn't spicy at all. Indian flavors were there but the lack of seasoning made it unenjoyable. The other patrons in the restaurant felt same. Overall, I wasn't very impressed with the food. This new Indian cuisine is located in the heart of Carrollwood. If you find Chili's, they are just next to it. They offer weekday lunch buffet for about $10 and weekend buffet $13. There is a lot Indian customers dine there when we were there. We were there for the weekend buffet. It has good selection. If you are meat eaters, there will s a lot of choices. During the Saturday lunch buffet, they have goat, chicken and shrimp. The goat curry is fantastic. The tandoori chicken is marinated to the bone. It is quite tasty. The tempura shrimp may be with tikka sauce ( not sure ) is good. Why three stars. A lot of improvement need to be made. 1. Services need to paid attention when customers water is empty. 2. Temperature of the food is at warm condition not temperature hot. 3. The food is too American. Not spicy enough. May be the spice need to improve a bit to make it stronger. read more
