Do not eat here! Food inspectors should monitor this establishment regularly. I called the restaurant today and spoke with Tony, the bar manager, to let him know that my fiancé and I got food poisoning, likely from the chicken or mushrooms in our entrée last night. I was polite and made the call as a courtesy, hoping they would stop serving the dish to prevent other guests from getting sick. Instead, Tony implied that I was lying and took the situation personally. He said he served that entrée the night before and that no one else had called to complain, and said it could have been something else we ate that day. Having worked in the restaurant industry for years, this response is extremely disappointing. Tony also said I could not speak with a manager until Thursday, three days after we were sick all night, meaning they are willing to continue serving the dish and potentially risk making others ill because "no one else has called." This reflects a complete lack of customer service and basic food safety awareness. read more

I love Haven! I've been coming here since they first opened and they stay one of my favorite restaurants in Orange County. Their ever changing menu is so good. The one thing that stays consistent is their amazing truffle mac and cheese!! I've also recently been going there for the best "girl dinner". I'll grab a Ceaser salad with chicken, and pair it with a lil appy like their burrata or I've especially been loving their Risotto Arancini balls + a glass of wine of course. I've come here on dates, with family, for a girls night, and also solo! It's great for every occasion. Their brunch is also to die for, the best spot for the most delicious food and hunkering down on a weekend morning. The ambiance is always on point. They play the best music, and the lighting is always perfect. I've even joked with the hostess about how I want to take one of their mini table lamps home with me, LOL! Their kitchen takes deep pride in their work, and we've had the chef personally walk food out many times. Not a single dish here disappoints. The staff are all wonderful. Very accommodating and down to earth - from the hosts, to the servers, to the bar staff, to the kitchen. I personally like the little nooks by the windows, it's a great place for me to post up and get some work done while eating some great food. 10000/10 would recommend! read more

Really cozy ambiance, really nice staff, and some really good drink options and food to choose from! we loved the ceasar salad and the fish! Greg is thee best tender. He never disappoints when we present him with the question, "What do we need to try today?" He asks what we typically like to drink and delivers the most amazing cocktail. He carefully steers us out of our comfort zone and introduces us to new and amazingly delicous cocktails that we are sure to order again. Funny, witty, and super attentive. Came here for a quick weekday lunch and was not disappointed! We ordered the cornbread, truffle mac n cheese, and a classic burger. The cornbread was delicious and came with a butter on top that added the perfect amount of sweetness to the semi-savory bread. The truffle mac was also very good and was nice and creamy. The burger was your average restaurant/pub burger, but it was very nicely cooked and tender. The service was quick and attentive since there weren't that many patrons in the restaurant at the time we were there. We also got to select our own seat, which was a cute and cozy little booth next to the window which was nice for people watching. The overall vibes give Old Town for sure, it feels a bit country and Southern with the large wall of bottles and drinks near the bar. Would definitely come back here for the cornbread! read more

Haven Craft is a bustling, contemporary restaurant in the heart of Orange. The host stand had a few issues finding and crediting us for our OpenTable reservation, and the service slacked a little toward the end of our meal, but in general it's an inviting space with good food. We have been coming here for years and while the food is still good it is not as good as it used to be. We came here for brunch/lunch on a weekend and went antiquing afterwards. I had the chilequiles with mole. It was sweeter than I was expecting and I had experienced with other moles but it was still really good. I brought my 3 year old and they had a lots of options for him. We will definitely go back and will enjoy the food but just miss what it was about 10 years ago. read more

I waited in line for about 1 hour before bailing and moved 10 feet in a 100 foot line. At the last minute, we have about 10 or 11 in our party and even when I go to OpenTable, it says they're not available but I call and they manage to get us in. So I'll start here by saying that I've been here before. I think the drinks are great, and they have decent options for food. Yesterday, my boyfriend and I came for a drink before enjoying the rest of Orange circle. We initially were sat at a table, but then changed to the bar top as we didn't want to take away someone's table for just drinks. While the drinks were tasty, it felt as though we were unwanted when we sat at the bar. I got my drink, and my boyfriend waited almost an additional 10 mins for his whiskey sour. This is a great spot we stopped in for dinner after walking around the area looking at the Christmas decorations. It was busy but the hostess sat us down within 5 minutes. The restaurant was lively and our waiter was friendly and very attentive. We ordered the lobster roll and burger. The lobster was flavorful but the sauce was a bit thick and overwhelming. My burger was okay, it was also too saucy for me. Presentations were beautifully done though. The drinks we got were an old fashioned and a whisky sour. Amazing drinks!! This was a nice place for our date night out, parking in the area is a bit tricky as it does get packed but just be patient you'll find a spot. Definitely recommend! read more

Not sure how this place has 3.7 ratting here because every time I dine here the food is FRESH, delicious and the flavors are on point. Well rounded. One of my favorite places in Old Town Orange! Seasonal menu and the wines also rotate. No grocery store wine here! Cocktails are also fun, great flavors, too. All the staff is super friendly, service is on great and the ambiance is lit just enough, not too loud. Warm vibes. My favorite dish is the pappardelle pasta with sun-dried tomato pesto, Aleppo pepper (finely grind) gives it a little tiny bit of spice. The house made noodles are so good! I order it with chicken. Our experience was very subpar. We ordered a hamburger and wanted to add more veggies. The waitress said we were going to be up charged for putting extra veggies on the burger. , Such as peppers, onions, and tomato, etc. which is very disturbing to charge for veggies. The waitress was not friendly. and she was not helpful. She was not happy to be working. She was very rude in fact. The menu was very limited on options and wasn't very family friendly. The kid menu was fine but there wasn't an activity on a kid menu for kids. Then we ordered lemonade for my son and they asked if we wanted a kid cup. I said yes. When we asked for a refill, they said oh they have to charge us and it was $4.50 for an 8 ounce glass of lemonade. So needless to say we didn't get extra veggies or lemonade refill. We spend over $100 on 1 burger, 1 kids butter noodles, 4 beers and 1 lemonade! Overall experience was very subpar. We will not be going back. The management should be aware of these concerns. read more

I feel overall disappointed in my experience here. For looking like a high end bar that is decorated nicely with good seats the evening had its moments. Let's start with the positives- ambiance, nice menu variety, and some tasty items (risotto balls 9/10, buttered cornbread 9/10, beat salad 6/10, lobster roll 6/10). The prices were too high for the quantity and quality of the items. $170 for a few shared plates and 2 drinks. The worst part was the "OG" Haven Burger 0/10. We ordered it medium well and as you can see in the first picture of how it came out, it was not cooked to match our order. My friend ate hers and I could not. The server took it back and said they put it back on the grill. Well - nice deception because it looked cooked on the open side as if they literally slapped that part down on the grill with bread and ingredients intact because you can see in the close up picture that the burger is still pretty pink and not cooked through. Such a huge disappointment to not make it as requested and then do a botched job of trying to "fix" it. I won't be back. read more

I've been going to Haven for years. Ive never had service this awful at any restaurant in my entire life. On Sunday 9/22 our server Mathew didn't greet us with "hello", he dropped menus and asked us what we wanted to drink.. then asked for IDs which he took 10 minutes to get back to us to check in with a "manager" about our IDs. My friend asked for a side of fries and he said he had to go check with the chef(fries are available with a burger on late dinner menu), after 10 minutes Mathew told us fries weren't available unless you order a burger. We have gotten side of fries regularly there on their late night food menu. We also asked for water which took Mathew 45 min and 3 asks to receive. We got our drinks and had a friend join us. We got some snacks and he proceeded to be rude. He cleared and picked up our lights on our table and all surrounding tables at 1030. The door says they close at 11. He dropped off the check and stood above us asking us to pay. We told him we would as soon as we were ready, and he stood staring at us above our table. The time on the tap pay is 1045. Then I started filming him because this was getting ridiculous. He literally grabbed our drinks which we were still enjoying, and told us we where done. He rudely grabbed our waters and he tried to snatch my wine glass from across the table, he touched me which violated my personal space to say the least. My friend had 1 cocktail and I was on my second glass of wine. My friend asked the bar tender to come and help us. I will say the bartender has always been friendly, nice and welcoming. I informed him that us asking to speak to him about our horrendous server Mathew had nothing to do with him. The bartender has actually helped me on many occasions, and has been nothing but gracious and welcoming. . We asked to speak to a manager this evening and we were informed there's no managers available. I've tried to call and have been told managers are only available Friday and Saturday nights. I am writing this after trying to call and speak to a manager 2 times after the awful service, and talking to the bartender who gave us cards with no direct emails to managers. We tried to reach out through email and through instagram and also no reply. This is not ok and id like a resolution from one of the managers or owners and how they will make sure paying guests will never be mistreated and barraged in the way me and my friends where by Mathew. read more

While it was delicious, it took me a while to decide on a dish. I was hoping for more variety in terms of brunch (omelettes, breakfast burritos, scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt & granola, even plain pancakes). The food is freshly prepared, I just feel like the menu is limited. For example, they offer pesto pasta and pork belly tacos on the brunch menu. I wasn't in the mood for that at 11 AM. Took a stroll down Old Towne Orange and stopped by this amazing restaurant for lunch. It wasn't too busy when we arrived and was seated immediately. We ordered the Skillet Cornbread & Pappardelle with Chicken Pesto and a Mexican Morphine drink. Everything was so deliciously tasty and mouthwatering good. We came here on a Saturday wanting some beers. It was about mid afternoon and they weren't too busy, so we got seated right away. It did take the servers a little longer than we'd liked to ask if we were ready, but it wasn't too big of a deal. So! We ended up getting a flight of beers to share between the two of us, and the flavors were all pretty good! We got the Super Tonic (milk chocolate, roasted coffee stout) - this one was a little too dark for my liking, yet still surprisingly tasty. Blueberry Muffin (fruited sour) - this was light yet tasted as you've probably already guessed like blueberry muffin. Big Papaya (fruited sour) - this was light and tasted kinda fruity. Not distinctively like Papaya, but it was enjoyable. And lastly, Absolutely Lite: Mango (tart ale) - this one was a bit tooooo lite but you could taste hints of mango if you really tried. Overall, a great experience. This used to be a place I frequented back in the day, and it was nice to see their menu options and beer options as well. Went for an Easter lunch. The venue wasn't crowded so no excuse for bad service. Couldn't get water from two of the waitresses. After 20 minutes finally got water but without the slice of lemon we requested. All the workers seemed to be having a bad day because they all had an attitude as if they didn't want to be there: Hostess, waitress, and bartender. My partner chose Haven Craft + Bar as the spot for our Valentine's Day date, with the main selling points being their open availability and their prix fixe menu. We've also been here once before for a brunch date, so it made for an easy and familiar choice to go here. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we noted the long line out the door, but chalked it off as not a big deal since we showed up with a reservation time. However, we soon learned they were running 15-20 minutes behind. We understood the situation and appreciated the staff's apologetic attitude. While we were willing to wait at the time, little did we know, we were not going to be seated until 45 minutes after. Once seated, the service was slow. Not only was it difficult to flag down the wait staff, but requests were often forgotten by the time they stopped by again. The restaurant was blatantly overbooked, contributing to a long night of confusion and mix-ups between staff and patrons, where dishes and drinks were delivered to the wrong tables--including ours. Roughly two hours into our reservation time, my partner and I decided to leave in the middle of the second course, and asked the staff to pack our meal and desserts. Our original reservation was at 8:45 PM and by the time we got the check, it was already a little past 11 PM. Now, let me preface this next part by saying that we admit partial fault we really should've checked the packed desserts before leaving the establishment, but we didn't. I really wasn't going to write a review and instead leave this experience behind, but this was really the last straw that sealed the deal for me: only 1 of 2 desserts were given to us. We ordered the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Flourless Chocolate Meringue Cake, but found out we received the pudding and 2 scoops of ice cream. I have to assume the restaurant had run out of the Meringue cake, because that was the case with other items in the menu, but a heads up would've been much appreciated. Overall, the food was delicious, so it's just a shame how the experience overshadowed it. I don't place blame on anyone, especially when all the staff we had conversations with were incredibly apologetic (and understandably stressed), but this definitely left a lasting mark on both of us enough to avoid the restaurant for a while. read more
