Poor customer service. Purchased a sofa and 2 recliners. The sofa was literally dropped off the delivery truck and landed on the ground. Stupid mistake on our part for not refusing to accept sofa. Once the sofa was placed in our home we noticed a leg of the sofa was damaged and a spot on the back of the sofa. Havertys did come and repair both. While vacuuming under the cushions next to the arm of the sofa I noticed a tear. Needles to say nothing was done regarding this issue. We sent 2 recliners back because we did not like them and ordered 2 more with a different color of leather. The wrong recliners were ordered and we did not accept delivery. It's been a night mare and 4 months later we are stuck with a damaged (possible cracked frame) sofa. We are going elsewhere to purchase recliners. Well I hope over 1000 people read the review. about Havertys' Furniture in Springfield Missouri and refrain from sharing your business there. I have attached photos and receipts so all of you can see that my dates and facts are true. On February 8, 2021 my wife and I purchased a beautiful living room set from Havertys'. It consisted of a sleeper sofa, two recliner rocking chairs, and an ottoman. All furniture was Vintage Autumn. As you will see from receipts, the furniture was $10,658.59. Not a small amount for 4 items. You will also notice one Swivel Recliner is on a separate receipt but purchased on the same date for the same delivery date. On February 18, 2021 Havertys' showed up at our home in Branson MO to make the delivery of this purchase. The only problem was, they were missing one Swivel Recliner. Remember the two receipts? Well they completely forgot the second chair purchase and did not have the recliner on their truck. One would think , " no worries, they will bring it later". They did but after waiting quite some time for the second recliner, the color was off and it did not match the other 3 pieces. After much challenge from the store, we were finally able to get them to send another Swivel Recliner and lucky it did match the first 3 pieces in color. It arrived much later than promised. HERE IS WHERE EVERYTHING GOES BAD!!!!! At the same time we discovered that the sleeper sofa mechanism was broken. We called the store and they suggested that they send an entire new sofa. We shared the challenge with color match from the chair so they decided to order us a new mechanism. We were ok with this as we knew the current pieces all matched. Fast forward to March 2022 and we still did not have the replacement mechanism from Havertys' with at least 25 telephone calls lasting numerous hours trying to find out where it was and what was taking so long. Several blames on covid and other manufacture issues were share by Havertys' but still??? Over one year later???? Finally, Havertys' calls us to schedule the delivery of the replacement part. They tell us March 17, 2022 between 8 am and 5 pm. Oh well, looks like St. Patty's day was shot this year waiting on Havertys' but at least we would finally have the furniture we purchased over one year ago usable. NOPE!!! At about 1 pm on March 17, 2022, the Havertys' truck shows up with a couple young men, they come to the door with tools and tell us they are there to repair our sofa. We ask, " do you have the replacement mechanism?' to which they say, NOPE. Turns out no one at the store gave the message to pick it up and bring it. We were told it would be delivered that day and someone else would come to make the repair. It did not happen at all this way. My wife and I proceed to call the Springfield store Manager, Brad. We told Brad it has been over one year and as far was we were concerned Havertys' could come pick up their furniture and we would go buy it somewhere else. Brad's snide remark back was, " Come on, you have had the furniture for over one year". Really Brad? Is that our fault and are you insinuating we have used the furniture and now want to return it???? Brad tells us he is going to get this taken care of right away and will call us back. At the end of the next day still no call from Brad. We call the store and they tell us Brad is off and will be back in tomorrow. We call the next day and Brad is not available over and over. Finally we get Brad and he tells us he was getting around to returning his calls. Brad refers us to customer service and we end up talking to Kaneesha who is totally rude to us on the telephone. We can only assume Brad told her were were bad customers or something as we have never talked to her before. She schedules our repair for March 31, 2022 between 8 am and 5 pm. I am currently in the parking lot submitting this review. I went into Furniture Row on Eastgate in search of a new bedroom set... as I walked in three associates were sitting on the far left(Denver Mattress entrance) on a bed.. 2 gentlemen and the lady was laying on the bed. I ASSUMED as I browsed someone would approach to help... lol - What was I thinking?? I continued to browse, pretty much lingered to see if someone would help... NOTHING. Anyway... I walked the store, still no associates. As I was leaving, the trio were still sitting, chatting and looking out of the window.. I said "Thank you for all of your help" and one of the gentlemen replied "Thanks for coming in".... ohhhh well! UPDATE - FINALLY got the guy out here to fix my furniture. All he did was pull out the same set of furniture markers I had and he colored in the places that needed to be fixed. He did a lousy job. The pics I posted don't justify how crappy it really looks. I am so disgusted I am not getting what I paid for. read more

Lousy Customer Service or should I say NO SERVICE. A Vast difference from when I purchased a Sofa, chair, ottoman and coffee table in 2012. Excellent Salesperson/customer service... I believe the Salesperson's name then was Alex. When I return fall of 2020 shopping for replacement sofa- Kelli (male) wouldn't take NO for an answer for a sectional group that I told him I didn't think was it for me- he insisted that in order for me to receive the $100 off of $1000 or more sale I had to put a $100 deposit down now. Suffice it to say it was downhill all the way to Arkansas from there. Keep in mind I DID NOT ORDER the sectional- I was simply putting the deposit down to get the $100 off of a $1000 purchase or more- (HIS WORDS) so- I get an invoice e-mail stating I owe $2,499 for my sectional- which I called Kelli to straighten out- sure it's all taken care off- then I receive an e-mail that they're planning on delivering my furniture the following Saturday morning at 10 am. Oh my goodness! More calls, more mumbo jumbo from the sales representative- I had to place 4 phone calls to the store and to the Sales Rep to get my $100 deposit back! He told me he would do it, he didn't. I called he told me he would refund it, he didn't. I called he did. The communication is not even on the level of pigeon delivery. Worse customer service I've ever seen. Move forward to this January thought I would try them for a leather recliner- Jan 11 to be precise- I made sure I didn't deal with Kelli- placed my order with Emily. Emily explained she would need a $200 deposit for the order and I should receive the chair extended wait times given COVID at most 8 weeks... okay I could do that. Then it's 10 weeks. oh, well, then it's going to be 14 weeks... that 's when I say- wait a minute I'll have to rethink this and call you back. I call back today, March 19th- say refund me my deposit please. 3 1/2 hours later when I see the $ hasn't been refunded? I call the store 3 times- automated no person will answer my call. I text the sales associate- she states "I canceled the chair whatever u paid will go back how you paid, I'm not there right now I can look when I get back It takes 6 to 7 business days" They don't bother to give you 6 to 7 business days to give them the deposit now do they? AND by the way- that isn't the way to do business Haverty's. read more

This store has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. My wife and I made the mistake of purchasing a buffet from them. We paid $100 for delivery, and was promised delivery the next week, or at the outside 2 weeks from date of purchase. We called the store on the day before delivery, and was told that we needed to talk to the salesperson who was off that day. We called again on Thursday morning, and was told the delivery would not take place for at least a month. No apology, nothing, as we were told they didn't call to schedule delivery, just did our are on Thursdays. We found out that our purchase was still sitting in their showroom in Springfield. I borrowed a truck and drove up to pick up our buffet. I talked to the manager and discussed the extremely poor service we had received. He told me we had gotten a good price on our purchase, would refund our delivery charges and walked off leaving me standing in the showroom. This has motivated me to let every person I know who says the want furniture to AVOID Havertys AR ALL COSTS! read more

While purchasing a 4000$ sectional we also were convinced to purchase a guardsmen furniture protection plan and told that everything would be covered. However the salesman lied. Guardsmen refused to pay for damage and labeled it as fabric failure which as you can see in the photos was not fabric defect, it had been torn. I could not be any more disappointed. read more

Needed to outfit our house in new furniture. We shopped a few store. But quickly tired of see the same cheap stuff! We had purchased our tempurpedic through Havertys in Florida. And we're happy to find the same great selection of quality furniture here in MO. Our salesman,Kelly, helped us to find what we needed without breaking the bank. Even running endlessly through the system to find the pieces to our bedroom set that had been discontinued. Would highly recommend this store and it's products! read more

I I worked with the in store decorator and she come out to measure and look at furniture/colors- measured for size of multiple rugs. When I receive the furniture the all the rugs were not correctly sized and way wrong colors. The rugs in the same room weren't even close to matching - the one in my bathroom was overlapping the tub, therefore not usable. The men loaded the rugs up that didn't match or fit. I also ordered a bedroom suite - that the men had a lot of trouble carrying in the house and ended up dinging and bruising the bed. They said they would deliver a new one- which they did - but it too was chipped and missing the color. My sales lady said they would compensate me for the dings- I never saw a dime. Then the nightmare of my billing took place- not only did they not mark the items that weren't suitable as returned, I got a call one year later explaining Havertys needed to pick up the rugs that didn't work. I have asked SEVERAL time to make sure I was charged correctly- to absolutely no contact form the store after my several attempts. Once we got the items to be marked returned they credited my account a year later for the stuff that was returned when I first got it. Then I saw on account that I was being charged AGAIN for the bathroom rug that was returned- I didn't receive any notice or anything that Havertys was tacking in 800$ for the rug, had I not been watching my account I wouldn't have caught it. I just called today to see if anyone was taking care of this after several calls not being returned- I was told the customers in the store have more priority than I did and she would have to call back later. If I could give this store a 0 start this is what I would give them. Oh sure when you call about your 1200.00 leather chairs EACH (we purchased two of them) they were very nice. But the help was, giving you the number of the complaint department. Which was worthless. Purchased our supposedly..... was told top grain leather chair and less than 2 years the color started fading. Needless to say I was told by "the extended department of complaints" they couldn't do anything about it because we did not buy the extended warranty. Wondering even if we did, what would be included. I was also told they could refer me to someone who could stain the leather at my cost. REALLY Chairs were purchased from the Springfield Mo store, but recently we moved to St Louis and these chairs are to this day being sold as top grain leather chairs. This is false advertisement. I worked for Bassett furniture years ago and I know what top grain leather is and how it is made. I also may add I have had a top grain black leather chair from Bassett now for 15 years and it still is the same color as the day I purchased. If I could post a picture of my chair from the store now where it is being sold and the one in my home you would see the difference. Was super hesitant to purchase furniture here and while the actual sales person was nice and helpful the follow up from date of purchase to pickup was lacking. No phone call just an email telling us they set date for delivery, which we never requested. I called to clarify this and thought we were good. On our original pickup date it rained so I called to get it changed to another day. Again, thought we were good until we showed up on the day assigned only to find the store closed for inventory! No phone call, no email, no contact at all to fill us in on this complication. We took the day off of work and drove to the store only to be told to come back another day! The person at the customer pickup dock didn't even open the door to talk to us face-to-face! It wasn't until I told him that we were picking up our couch that day or they would be delivering it for free did another employee come out to talk to us. He was very polite and went to find our couch and brought it out to us. I messaged our sales person to report problem and got no response. A few days later the store called me but I couldn't answer. They left no message and it's now been almost a week and still no response. Once the sale goes through Havertys is done with you apparently. Will not shop here again. Lesson learned read more
