I'm not sure how I havent reviewed Hawkeyes yet because this place is so awesome that my family eats there twice a month at least. We love the family friendly atmosphere and the always friendly waitresses. The food is consistently well-made and delicious. We've been here more times than I can count and have never had a less than great experience. I'm O B S E S S E D with their homemade soups. They are to die for. Best clam chowder and fish in chips in town, too! Better than any seafood restaurant I've been to in this state, way better than Ivars. And every time we go, they have a new soup to try! Which is awesome, but also sometimes frustrating because I've had several that I'd love to have again (Mexican chicken noodle and creamy mushroom chicken live rent free in my head) But they never seem to offer the special soups on any kind of rotation. Can we get a soup calendar on the website?! Not even joking. The number of times I've nearly rear ended people while driving by trying to catch the soup of the day on the sign outside is a little embarrassing. I love this place. The only things I could suggest to make this place even better are minor. The iced tea is not great. Tastes more like tap water than tea. And I wish they had a kids steak option on the kids menu because my kids always want some of our steak. Also, I wish they would turn the music down slightly during the family friendly hours. Visited @ 5:15 during happy hour. Found a quieter place in family section. Took a bit for them we were in the empty section. Wait person ( woman ) was direct & a bit humorous typically ok for the job. Place got packed in bar section soon after,all ok. then our prime dips came out. Thought at first ok alright. Pull sandwich apart and found a piece of of prime rib that was very suspicious of not cooking there almost as leftover from day before. Toasted roll in half 1 piece of prime rib with zero flavor. Told waitress that the sandwich needed help. Strutted away and game with credit of $10 for meal Hawkeye has the bar to bring in revenue- if you want a meal - Dodge this place. Awesome local spot with food that's a strong step above frozen pub food that is all too common. On a Friday night , not just a packed house but a steady stream of Togo orders too. Wings had a great crunch and flavor. Not quite what I'd call hot/spicy but still tasty. Fries are those special restaurant kind that are extra battered and crispy. Prime rib dip was great. Only thing I'd probably nitpick is the coleslaw I chose as a side had way too much mayo in it. The bean and sausage soup was great too. Also extra shoutout to the servers dealing with the packed World Series night crowd. Despite being so busy they handled things without a single issue. Heard only 1 cook was in the kitchen tonight so that's also impressive. We will definitely be back. read more

Good service. Great chowder. Great salad and Mozzarella sticks. The prime rib was not good. Tough and flavorless. It looked like it was sliced from an uncooked prime rib, and just seared on each side. The "3 piece" fish and chips was over fried, way too crispy, and the fish was dry, chewy, and flavorless. One piece was a decent size, the other two shouldn't even count as one. Fries were pretty good. The onion rings were way overcooked. It was disappointing to see how much they have raised prices. Yummy bar food. The place is what you would expect. Kind of dark and old divey, but allows kids. They have a small area with a couple arcade games (pay with coins). They have great fries and tasty dipping sauces. Fish and chips were good. Nachos weren't impressive unfortunately. Not much cheese. Service is also what I would expect, fine but not warm and fuzzy. Good bar food, lots of fried options and burgers/sandwiches. I usually go for the daily soups, which are great & the salads nice & fresh. Downside: service is always lacking. I have no idea why they can't get it together but you usually have to track down a server to get your order in or drink refilled. They really make no apologies about it, go for some food or to watch a game & you get what you get in that area I guess. read more

This place has the best Reuben ever! I can't speak to the drinks or ambiance but their food is really good, i'm a connoisseur of Reuben's and theres Is the best one ever eaten. I usually get my food to go and make a special trip in there for my fave sandwhich but the staff is really friendly and usually exceptionally quick. My book club has met at Hawkeye's a couple times due to the central location. Free parking can be found in the parking lot (usually full) and on the street. Credit cards are accepted. Tabs are easily split. Happy Hour is offered throughout the entire restaurant Monday-Friday from 3pm-6pm. Happy Hour is offered all day on Sunday's. Complimentary peanuts are offered on Thursday's. Hawkeye's offers a full bar, outdoor seating, a pool table and several TVs. Food is standard bar grub. Noise levels are always loud. Pitcher's of Manny's were $12.25 (hh). My bestie and I shared a Dinner Salad for $5.95: mixed greens, tomato, mushrooms, bacon bits and croutons. We were both impressed with this salad. We also shared the Chicken Quesadilla for $6.50 (hh): grilled chicken, green onions, tomato and cheddar cheese. Served with salsa and sour cream. A perfect snack to compliment our beers. Staff is slow and inconsistent. Most of the time the staff is friendly. Overall, Hawkeye's is a great place to refuel after a day of hiking or to throw back a few after a long work week. Hawkeye's is not ideal for book club meetings or any other types of meetings that require actually listening to a conversation due to the loud noise levels. read more

Service is unacceptable. Our table of 4 came in to an almost empty restaurant and sat down. After about 20 minutes of no service or acknowledgment (outside of menus), another group of 4 came in. This group was acknowledged. Their drinks were ordered and delivered. Once delivered, their food orders were taken. Mind you this is PRIOR to our waitress even saying hello to us. After 30 minutes of the waitress walking past us, smirking, we decided to leave. Bruno's down the street is a better option for service and better food! read more

For the many times I've been here it's funny I never did a review. If you're expecting some quiet fancy restaurant, this is not that. It's a PUB and sports bar. Yes, of course kids are welcome but it's also a place where many regulars come to drink and play pull tabs. I love the French fries, apps and some sandwiches but it is bar style food and reasonably priced. The staff is super nice and will remember you. It's a fun spot and nice to have in town when things are actually open. They also do serve breakfast on weekends which about half our restaurants don't so that's nice too. read more

The service was horrible. We came in and we watch the wait people help others that came in after us. Finally our waitress came over and took our drink order. She only had one menu so she said she had to go in the back and get another one which she did. After 25 minutes, watching our waitress go outside to vape and then just ignoring us, we asked another person if she was our waitress she said no but she thought she knew who was. Our waitress came over and said she apologized as she just forgot about us. Not sure how that could happen since we were at a table right in the open. At this point we had waited too long and they were not that busy. We ended up leaving and going some place that realizes customers are important! I've been meaning to try this place for months, finally had a chance. My husband and I went in with our four-year-old around 1:30 on the weekend. I'm not quite sure if it's because I'm in the service industry, or if it's just because I notice everything, but it was not a very good experience at all. It took us quite a while to get some drinks. When we did, they were overflowing all over the table and it took another 10 min to get napkins. We ordered some chili cheese fries, they were awesome! My daughter had a kids cheeseburger, it was super good as well. My complaint was the service and the cleanliness of the restaurant. A couple of the girls we talk to you just weren't very friendly. It seems like we were inconveniencing them to be there. I would ask them for some thing and they would be walking away before I could even finish my sentence. We went to play some games in the back and there had been some food left on multiple tables for quite a while. There was garbage and trash in the game area, it looked like it hadn't been wiped down in years. My daughter wanted to play a game but I wouldn't let her because it was filthy. We might try it again because the food was awesome, I hope the restaurant is a bit cleaner next time. read more

Before Covid service was horrible and very rude gals, but I had one time where one of the patrons asked me to play pool so I obliged and after seeing how intoxicated she was I told the bar tender/manager that the women needed to be cut off, they did and she promptly walked out and got in her car and drove off which I couldn't believe they didn't try and stop her because she was SO INTOXICATED but the women/manager short hair older with glasses promptly cut me off and I had just got their wouldn't give me another drink. I have never been so disrespected, ignored, and spoken to in the manner that the Hawkeye's servers spoke to me and made me feel unwelcome. The food was delivered cold and thrown at me. Then not fitting the 'white' minority group, was asked to leave as the servers stated customers feel uncomfortable due to my ethnicity. This is the 3rd time that I have posted and somehow each time the posts get removed. It's funny that the guidelines regarding posts completely contradict they way that I was treated by the staff and establishement! Decent food (especially the side salad) but the service is atrocious! Our table of four sat and waited to be acknowledged while two waitresses stood a few feet away chatting about who knows what (I'm pretty sure they weren't talking about customer service). After they finished their conversation both waitresses looked our way and then they walked away, one started chatting with what appeared to be regular customers the other disappeared into the kitchen. I flagged down a different waitress who brought us menus and then she went looking for "our" waitress (she happened to be the one who went to the kitchen). When she finally arrived we ordered drinks, by the time she returned we were ready to order food. When she brought our food she didn't notice that we were ready for another drink and she didn't ask if we wanted one. She never stopped by to ask if our food was okay in fact we didn't see her again until she dropped off the bill and THEN she tried to be friendly. That isn't how you get tips! read more

Worst customer service and poor decision making i have experienced in my life. Let me begin from the beginning. i come in with to watch the seahawks game and enjoy myself. I was approached by an older woman who saw me as a threat to the woman i was with, approached me and asked what my relationship is with the woman. i explained it. the woman comes back and talks to the woman i am with and asks is she ok? what is the relationship with me. I asked the older woman why does it matter who i am with? she replies "you are a threat and i am no longer talking to you" I explain the situation to a staff member and there only action was to tell the individual to mind there own business and left it alone. My dad loves coming here for his "treat" of eating prime rib. It's a ton of food and he looks forward to taking half of it home to enjoy later. So I had the pleasure of going today with him. He ordered his usual, and I got the chicken fried steak. I base my satisfaction on how crisp the coating stays and how tasty it is. Today they both exceeded my expectations. Even covered in a delicious white gravy, the coating on the steak remained crunchy. And the seasonings in it were so good, all I could do was wonder if I could ever replicate it at home. (No, I'm sure I couldn't!) The dinners come with a tasty salad (I'm all in when it comes with bacon and mushrooms!) and a potato. Mine came with garlic mashed potatoes which were perfect with the garlic toast. Hey, I love garlic! Service was quick and friendly. Lots of TVs to watch all the games and good drinks. Staff is a little on the slow side, but are super friendly, so it makes for an enjoyable experience. Everything about this place is what you'd expect from a bar in Lake Stevens. Lots of booze, a few terrible pool tables, run down dart boards, and unattractive people wearing clothes three sizes too small or too big. Staff is the highlight here, and if they weren't so friendly, the paint drying speed at which they move would have cost them a star. read more

There is a shortage of places with patios in my neck of the woods and now that the weather is gorgeous I am hunting them down. Hawkeyes has a fairly large patio with a small mini bar that I imagine they use at night, but I've never seen it in operation. The food is not too bad actually, I've indulged in various sandwiches and salads and never found myself disappointed. It's American food, burgers and sandwiches and every night of the week has a different special. Kinda cool. Service can be slow during the day when you're on the patio, but I've never gotten too ignored and if I do I generally go back inside to track them down. Saturday nights the have comedy shows and it can get pretty busy, but it's a good place to enjoy free comedy. read more

Shoutout to Hawkeyes for becoming our 'go-to' place after recently moving to Lake Stevens. We moved up the street and became regulars during the time our kitchen was being remodeled. Since we remodeled the kitchen ourselves, we were frequent flyers at Hawkeyes for quite a few weeks. The food is delicious and consistent (we've ordered and re-ordered the same meals for a reason). The staff is friendly and welcoming. We love Hawkeyes, and we'll continue to recommend it to friends who visit. read more
