I worked hard on making sure the home was in good condition, they way I got it. When I got ready to move out, they tried to rush me out. I cleaned the windows, swept, moped and waxed the floors, made sure the inside and outside was cleaned. It was holes in the wall do to picture hanging and chip paint due to ware and tare in the home. The window sill had chip paint. I had flowers on them. They supposed to paint the house when you leave anyway. They had extra paint in the utility room. They took $330 of my deposit to paint the house. I was renting the house for five years before they took over. They were one of the reasons why I had to get from under them. When they first came on the sence two years ago, I had to sign another least. They said if I move out, I would have to pay $155 dollars move out fee. Now, how am I going to have the time to move out in 30 days and you just sprung this least on me. I never like them from the time they came on the sence. I felt like , I was in prison.I was going to damn by them either way. Damn if I do , damn if I don't, Either way I was going to be screwed. Another reason, I left because it was up a hill. My advice is don't rent anything from them because they are in the business of keeping most of your deposit. I liked and appreciated the owner of the house and Mr. Holman. But, the guy I was doing business with after Mr. Holman left, he will be nice in your face or on the phone, but he will screw you over when you get ready to move. I never had to rent from property management, I see why, because, some will screw you over. They are in the business of making money. They don't give a damn about you.You will see that when you move out.

There were problems from the beginning: there was no follow-up, there was staff "turnover", time frames continued to change, and nothing that was promised (other than the material itself) was delivered. I went above and beyond what was asked of me by clearing each room of everything but the large pieces or furniture. The job took twice as long as promised. The workmen did nothing to protect my existing floors from their wet feet and did nothing to protect my furniture, mattresses, and box springs from the dust. Glue was tracked everywhere and never cleaned up by the workmen - I have 94 pictures of glue spots that I had to clean. The new flooring was never vacuumed or dry mopped. They broke my dresser mirror although I had suggested that they remove it prior to moving the dresser. The workmen treated my home as a "new build" job site rather than a house that people were living in. Five minutes after the workmen left, Donna H. arrived, without talking to me first, to collect payment since the job was "completed". When told that I wasn't prepared to pay at that time, she became belligerent. I felt like I was being bullied. When I told her that I could not recommend her company to anyone I knew, she said she was "sorry to hear that." She never apologized for my disappointment in her company's performance. Based on my recent conversations with other renovation companies, it seems that since Southern Interiors expanded beyond flooring and blinds, my experience is the norm, although reviews don't reflect it. Addition: In my original post I should have included that when I paid the balance due of $2,573 (less $257 for my work), I included 3 pages of documented job issues and over 100 photos. They cashed the check the day after it was received. I waited two weeks for them to contact me. When they didn't, I posted online reviews. It was only then that they tried to contact me because they felt my review was too "harsh". I felt no need to respond.
