For my family photos I wanted something gloomy, in which it was raining that day. Damien didn't mind what that I wanted rain during my shoot. There was a 2 year old and a 9 year old, who let's just say weren't fans of the rain,and (2 year old) wanted to run off to play on the playground. Damien was very understanding, and was able to get amazing photos captured even given the circumstances. He was even able and willing to help put a smile on a toddler's, along with all of our, faces. For my "Dirty 30" portraits, I had different locations in mind, and Damien was able to work with what I wanted. My friend, whom was helping me carrying props that I wanted, had to leave mid shoot and Damien was polite enough to offer his assistance. I've gone to another Photographer before Damien, and let's just say he didn't listen to the vision I had in mind. If you are as picky as I am, I reccomend Damien due to his professionalism, great work, and prices that can't be beat while having the same quality as his. It has been over 4 months since Seven took pictures of my two daughters. We paid up front for this…read moreservice, finished the photo session, and he said the process for completing the photos and getting them back to us would not take long. Because of the heat, these photos were taken in his studio in front of a green screen, so we understood up front that he would need time to edit the photos and insert a background. Here is the timeline for our attempts to get the pictures we paid for: 2 months after pictures have been taken- After no contact for this entire time, we reach out to him. He mentions that he has been incredibly busy, but will get our pictures within a week. 2 months & 2 weeks- No contact well after first deadline. Reach out to him for update on pictures. It took a few days for him to respond. He again apologizes and says that he has been busy. He will have the pictures ready for viewing within a week. 3 months- No contact from him. We have to initiate contact again multiple times for him to respond. Without giving a deadline, he simply insists that he is too busy, for right now. He does offer a refund over text as well as the pictures, but we just say that we want the pictures and have no problem paying for his service. After insisting on a deadline, he gives a date 2 weeks later. 3 months & 2 weeks- We initiate contact with him after that deadline goes by and he says he will be done in 5 days. Last contact with him was over 2 weeks ago. I have attempted to contact him, saying we would accept the unaltered photos and refund, but he has not responded, except once to tell me that contacting him will not increase the speed of his completion. My family and I have known this man for years and I post this with a great deal of sadness. Maybe he handled his business professionally at a previous time, but at this point we feel as if we have been taken advantage of. UPDATE: I was promptly contacted within 30 minutes of posting this. The response was threat of physical harm and anger that I would jeopardize his business by posting a bad review.

Our engagement shoot was in SF and he came up and it was like being with a friend. My husband and I had such a great time, every place we went he would not only capture us, but the magic around us. At one point we were driving to the next spot and we stopped in this lush green forest area and took the most beautiful pictures you have ever seen. During the wedding he was super calm and really captured the love of the ceremony. He had great ideas about lighting, placement, and poses. My husband and I chose Austin Thomas Photography for our wedding. Before signing the contract, I…read moreinquired about a second photographer of which Austin assured me there would be one; however, on the wedding day there was no second photographer. He did not approach us before, during, or after the wedding to explain, apologize, or offer compensation for the no show. A few months after, I wrote a letter explaining my concerns and frustrations. His response was apologetic stating the second photographer had an emergency that day and was willing to compensate in the form of a print credit or special print. My husband and I decided on a print credit. Upon texting our decision to Austin, he denied offering this option. Ultimately, we settled on a picture album. There are some picture flaws I feel a second photographer could have remedied. There was a U-Haul in the background of family photos, my dress had a small train that was bunched in a few shots, and there were few guest photos. In retrospect, due to the lack of professionalism and accountability, I would have performed a more thorough search of photographers in the Bakersfield area. Austin was very easy to work with and took many beautiful pictures that we will cherish for years to come; however, I do not feel the service and price were equivalent.
