A great area to visit as there is a further 4-5 Antique and Vintage shops in St Michael's along with the Auction House and Art Studios. Another great place where I have sold furniture, paintings and jewellery over the last few years…read more Very professional and well established firm. Their different specialists will value and advise on your items for sale. Parking is sometimes possible almost outside in the street (although at other times it's hard to find a place).

Despite no such advice on the website and the apparent invite to members of the public. They have a rather condescending manner as soon as they have decided that your item will not make them enough money.

I placed a Bid of £40 for an Item on sale for an Estimate between £30 and £50 there were no other bidders and my Bid was acceptable and was well within range of Sale and was prepared to go a lot lot higher. However the same happened with other bids that i had placed on items in the same auction, nevertheless Semley Auctioneers closed the auction and surprisingly did not give the results for public viewing to their customers with the following message attached to their online easy live auction, as follows:- The auctioneer has chosen not to publish their results. Contact the auctioneer for more information. They Seem to pick and choose their own prices and will not accept your bid or offers unless it suits them. Not really an auction and totally unprofessional on their behalf. Please do not waste your precious "Time" with these boffons. Please stay well clear and spend your money elsewhere that at least values you as a Bidding Customer. Trust me it takes a lot for me to write a bad review.

Pontcanna Flea Market is the real deal. You are guaranteed to find a really good selection of…read morequality Kitsch, both for the home and garden, as well as loads of classic and retro clothing, antiques, electrical goods, records, books, and furniture... essentially all the kind of stuff that you'd expect at a flea market, but with the added bonus of this one being a particularly good one. I don't know where the traders get their stock from, but some of them must have an incredible address book! A lot of them seemingly have endless access to the most incredibly desirable objects. Their lives must be heavenly! I considered becoming a trader myself a few years back, but decided that it would be an overtly dangerous career choice. I'd be great at scouting out my stock, and have fairly well tuned haggling skills. So far, so good! But, the problems would arise when it came to selling any of it on. I know I'd want to keep everything! Those confounded attachment issues! They also hold regular auctions at the King's Road site. I've not been to one, but I hear that they are as much fun as the flea markets, and just as well stocked with eminently buyable stuff.
A friend of mine always buys her anniversary jewellery from here so it was an obvious place for my…read morehusband and I to go to choose our wedding rings. There is a big choice of rings here. I immediately set my heart on a ruby and diamond ring, and was amazed to find that it was well within my budget. Husband found a ring he loved too. As it was pre-owned the sales assistant made a special point of discussing this with us, as she wanted to be sure that we wouldn't be disappointed later on when we'd thought about it. We didn't mind at all, and we certainly didn't mind that the ring was cheaper through not being new. Just to be sure we tried on one or two other rings and the lady was very patient and not at all pushy, even though the shop was fairly busy. We had to have the rings resized. This service was carried out very professionally, and when we went back to pick up the rings we were given a small celebration gift, which was a nice touch. A very professional service all round, and some really lovely items in this shop.
Shocking experience. I bought an engagement ring from this store which my partner loved but…read moreunfortunately it was too large so we took it back to them to be resized. They said that they would be in contact within two weeks to let us know once it had been resized. After two weeks my girlfriend called them for an update and they told her that they would call her when its ready. A further three days had past so I took it upon myself and called them to which he asked for my details and then told me he would have to call me back which all seemed very strange. Half an hour later I had a call saying that the ring had been damaged and they could offer a refund or would be guided on what we would like them to do. At this point my girlfriend had already bought an wedding band to match the engagement ring. We went into the shop on the Saturday to try and resolve the matter and were approached by Peter Cheer the manager who was very obnoxious and all he wanted to do was give us a refund and get us out of the shop as quickly as possible. The only input he gave us was a Chain Of Unfortunate Events. I then asked him could I see the ring to which he replied 'we do not have it'. I then asked him where it was to which he replied 'that doesn't matter' which is possible the most shocking answer to receive after spending a lot of money on a ring which was very meaningful to me and my partner. I then said you cannot even answer my question and will not tell me where the ring it? He then said the best solution was to have a full refund and leave it at that. I have never been so rudely treated and dealt with such a dishonest company in any shopping experience in my life and would never use this company or recommend anyone to use them.
