Very underwhelming and unprofessional. Charged $800+ For opening and chemicals, and help get our pool ready. They dropped off wrong chemicals (salt for a chlorine pool) and told us the chemicals would last the entire summer, which they could not, as some have already been finished. After calls and complaints about a lack of assistance from them and still incorrect chemicals, they have stopped sending us videos, and contact completely. This is a terrible experience and company to go to for pool help! read more

When it comes to pool work, you don't know the scope of the problem until the liner is off. Our project turned out to be a little bigger than expected, but HB Pools was great at communicating and set expectations early. They were 2 weeks in advance to start the job. Different crews for different tasks ciment, grout, walkway restauration ( Jacob, Pascal And Samuel ) vinyl measurements ( Emmanuel and Zac) & installation of vinyl, installation of fountain bowl ( James, Zac, Tristan and Jacob ) working under difficult weather conditions. Like every renovation, there might be issues coming up but they were discussed and resolved. They are very respectful of the owner property and leave it in order. Calling, ringing the door bell or emailing you before coming. Making videos to show the customer what work they have done. Great idea! And we can't forget to talk about the cheerful cordial dedicated bubbly receptionist Julie, to help us anytime. Also the efficient A + Maintenance water team Denis And Amy who dealt with our water problems in no time. Miguel working at the warehouse and being welcoming. And the professional friendly leadership of Fred, Luke that we experienced. HB pools is a big family working together. What a great company that is also teaching, training the new staff. HB Pools came to my house for a leak test in July 2021 as I was loosing approximately 1"/24hr in my inground pool. The 2 gentleman on site were very polite and very nice. and answered all my questions. Although they thought they had found the leak in my pool I'm not convinced I got the service I deserved. I did not get what I paid for. They told me I had a pressure leak in one of my lines and that I had a crack in my stairs. They patched the crack in the stairs (temp fix, no warranty) but there was another crack that they neglected to mention or find. The other crack in the stairs was the major issue in all of this. Once I fixed the other crack in the stairs myself with underwater caulking (also temp fix) the water was no longer dropping. HB Pools failed to mention that some pipes would need to be cut to complete the pressure tests. I believe a mention to the client is necessary before modifying any pool equipment. HB Pools proceeded to give me an estimate for the replacement of the two lines going to the skimmer and return. The estimate was lumpsum format without too many specific details. (I have a Hayward 1993 AquaGenie like system), therefore both return and skimmer lines are at the skimmer) The quote I was given for the work seemed a little high, since I was told it wouldn't be too expensive as there would be no concrete to cut, other than behind the skimmer. The estimate came in higher than expected and the details on the estimate included a new skimmer (which was not required for my fix at this time). I proceeded to contact HB Pools to discuss the estimate before moving ahead with the work. I contacted the receptionist and was told the their estimator would get back to me as soon as he could. I've still not received a call back for this discussion. I proceeded to replace the lines myself and purchased all the necessary parts for the job. I now saved $4000+ doing it myself and I am now leak free. I understand this type of work cannot be completed by everyone but always look at alternatives because the first company you speak with may not always be the best. I find it unfortunate that HB Pools did not follow through with better customer service. read more

Amazing results! We wanted to reduce our oversized pool into something more manageable, with less maintenance and lower heating costs and could not find another contractor willing to try. HB was referred by another pool company and it turned out that changing the size, shape or depth of an in-ground pool was no problem at all. While HB installs and repairs all in-ground pools they were more than willing to help us save money by re-using one end of our existing pool, which saved us almost $9000 compared to quotes we had received from other pool companies for a completely new pool. (HB was also about $4000 lower than the others for a completely new unit). All the material used was top rated and supplied from the big pool wholesalers that it seems all the pool companies use and the installation included cutting up and removing a huge reinforced concrete deck, re-installing a new poured 3' walkway around the pool as well as built in stairs. To protect our lawn the guys layed down about 100' of thick plywood so that the Bobcat would not damage our grass and the little bit of damaged that did happen was re-sodded and now looks like new. The crew was really hard working and always polite and friendly with our neighbours. Very pleased by the results. We would have no problem using HB again and in fact will likely use them in the future for fall closing time. read more

HB Pools closed my pool last year and opened it and closed it this year. They are a very professional and competent Company and I recommend them to anyone who wants good pool service at a reasonable price. i say "professional" because the test of professionalism is what happens when a problem occurs. I had a problem with the installation of a new solar blanket this year. A mistake was made with the trimming that could not be rectified without replacing the brand new blanket. HB Pools manager inspected the faulty install and immediately agreed to replace the cover with a brand new one at their expense that was then properly installed and perfectly cut to size. The prompt response, with no quibbling, is why I will be using HB Pools for many years to come hopefully. read more

Hb pools repaired my in ground pool last summer and did a fantastic job. They closed the pool for me, so I knew I would get them back to open it this year!
