I was referred to PCSD by my health insurance for a diagnostic. They literally could not schedule…read morethat test for over 9 months. In the interim they scheduled me with a counsellor, that I could not see for at least 3 from the the start of this process. While waiting I found that I could not wait, so paid out of pocket for other therapy until PCSD was available, hoping to be a good patient and eventually consolidate everything into a single provider under my health insurance. While I found the PCSD therapists thoughtful, supportive, and listening, they were exceptionally dismissive of the non-PCSD therapists that I was also seeing. Never mind that they were the ones actually available and able to treat me. Finally my diagnostic appt came about, but it wasn't. It was another intake interview as the Dr. wanted to do another since the last one PCSD had done was now more than 6 months old. Not by my choice, this was their own scheduling. And throughout she was dismissive of me, claiming I was seeking a diagnosis. Ultimately it was the single worst Dr. appt I have ever experienced, including the that resulted in actual malpractice. The Dr. was rude and dismissive of me. The good news is that I have new insurance that actually covers doctors that actually seem to want to help and not punch a time clock. DO NOT GO TO PCSD IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF HELP.
