Absolutely worst hair cut I've ever gotten I don't mean to be a stickler, but the wait was long and I get it like I didn't schedule an appointment so that wasn't the issue. The thing that made me almost walk out of the place was when I walked in and nobody said a word then I screamed across the barber shop do yall take walk the look but it's like I'm left on heard then after a minute of just standing there one of the guys decided to come up then the were like we're all booked besides the one guy don't remember his name just know there's a reason this guy has no clients coming back this is possibly one of the worst haircuts imaginable it's not even it isn't how I asked it's just looks like shit. I really wanted to give this place another shot, but unfortunately it was the same experience as before. I walked in and not a single barber acknowledged me no greeting, no "we'll be right with you," nothing. There were about five barbers working, so it wasn't like they were short-staffed. The shop itself also didn't feel well-kept. There was hair all over the floor, and even a noticeable pile of hair stacked up in one area, which just made the whole place feel unclean and unprofessional. I waited around 20 minutes hoping someone would at least say something, but still no verbal contact at all. This isn't my first time trying this shop either I've had similar experiences at this and their other locations, so it seems like a pattern rather than a one-off situation. With so many good barbershops in the area that actually acknowledge their customers and keep a clean environment, it's hard to justify coming back. The lack of basic customer service and consistency here is just confusing. read more

Oscar has been expectantly above and bey on his customer service and he is well experienced with his knowledge on haircuts He's has work on my 9 years old hair and my 19 year old and they really loved there hair cut and Oscar has given them a great confidence boost for sure. very precessional we never have to wait and he spends good time perfecting each hair cut and has truly blessed our family. I was looking for a new barber when I found Headliners Barber Shop on Yelp. The place did not sound familiar because Mike had just opened the shop days prior. The day I visited was his "official" opening day. Lots of space inside and two flat screens on the wall to make the wait time feel short. Mike has it hooked up nice with HD sports going to the TVs. Also Mike offered us some drinks while we waited. We had a cold Dr. Pepper from his mini fridge that sits next to his hair cutting workbench, which are nice Craftsman workbenches that have stainless steel work surfaces. Anyways about the haircuts, my son and I went in to get faded up. He is 5 years old and got a fade with a 1 guard and I got faded with a no guard. Mike took his time with both haircuts and was able to give us each a smooth fade. Price is not bad $15 bucks per haircut. Overall I think I have found my new barber. read more

If I were to rate the very person (Chelsea) doing my son's cut, I would rate her a 10 just because she has an incredibly sweet disposition with him and seems really patient trying to cut a 2 year old's hair. Our first visit with her, he did fine and he's visited this barber shop two more times and was pretty frightened and started crying (pretty loudly). My husband told me he refused to go back as the guy that handled him wasn't that great with kids. I decided to go back since my experience with Chelsea was awesome the first time, but he still had a little meltdown. The guy in the first chair (Hispanic guy) - his face showed he was pretty unnerved. Trust me when I say, every parent dies a little inside when their toddlers aren't cooperative and so just feeling that uncomfortable feeling of pissing a barber off just adds to the already stressful situation. I unfortunately won't be back, but have luckily since found a place where my son actually did really good. Might have to do with the energy I guess. Either way, we're glad we found a new place to go to. read more

Background: I am originally from Chicago, IL - the home of a perfect fade haircut. When I moved to Houston I searched far and wide in order to find a barber that can give me that sought after haircut that I used to get in Chicago. During this stretch I struggled a lot - as far as even going to a barber with an eye patch (BAD IDEA). I did all I could to scour the South Houston area for a good barber. A couple months and many barbers later, I finally found one that knew what he was doing. Headliners Barber Shop is a one man shop (there is another person there that rents a chair also) and Mike C. is the main barber. When I went in for the first time, Mike was very cool and helpful in figuring out what type of haircut I was looking for. He was not afraid to ask questions during the haircut (very important for a barber when cutting someone's hair for the first time) - I hate when barber's assume they know what they are doing finish the haircut with out asking a single question. Long Story Short: Mike has been cutting my hair ever since. I have not been to a different barber ever since I stumbled upon Headliner's. Mike is good at what he does and promotes a fun/welcoming atmosphere. Most importantly he gives an excellent haircut. Proof: During the weekends, his schedule is essentially booked from open to close. Shop Notes: A haircut is $15, not incredibly expensive and very fitting for the service. Appointments are accepted Thursday - Saturday at no extra charge, which is awesome! As long as you show up to your appointment on time, Mike does an excellent job getting you in at the scheduled time. Read the reviews and was looking for a barber that could do a military style short flat top haircut. I went to give them a try, the owner was cutting another persons hair and said the other barber had stepped Out but would be back shortly and that they did better at flat tops. After 15 minutes the owner stopped midway through cutting his clients hair to go find the other barber. Upon returning the other barber apologized and began to cut my hair. The barber cut my hair but it was more of a crew cut than flat top. I left very disappointed. A couple of months later I decided to give this place another try. Once again the owner referred me a t different female barber and gave her high reviews. I let her cut my hair which once again I left with a crew cut and not a flat top. I will not be back. The location is nice, it appears to be a decent shop when you walk in but the looks are deceiving. First and foremost the barber/owner who greets the customer is extremely rude. Secondly, I understand walk ins aren't very welcome in most shops but in a shop that doesn't accept walk ins (like this one), walk ins should be encourage. Which is not what happened here. Lastly, the ads says they specialize in fades, which is simply not true. I asked for a simple fade and walked out looking like a rapper without asking for it. I was so embarrassed I went to a different barber immediately to have it fixed. P.S. this place doesn't accept plastic, which is alright, but there are no signs indicating that. First things first, these are BARBERS not stylists. A good barber is much harder to find and they are good. "The other guy that rents a chair" is Eddie of "Eddies Barber Shop" and Donna. I lost touch when they moved from Eddie's location next to La India Bonita and only managed to find them again by luck. The only downside to the shop is that I never know who will be working. $15 for my flattop but I always tip to $20. read more

Walked in. No one even noticed that I was there. Wait almost 30 minutes and still no one said a single thing to me so I left.

I was received the same way Athena L was. Is it because we're women? Nobody greeted us. I felt very unwelcome and almost felt like I was "disturbing" the barber when I asked if they worked on baby cuts. (I didn't want to sit down and wait around for nothing.) Barber 1 replied in a condescending tone while looking around the room and counting " Uh, I mean we can but it's going to be a while. There's about 5 people ahead of you. You're going to have to wait." Well I knew I was going to have to wait... I wasn't expecting to get called next just because I have a baby. All I said was "ok no problem." I ended up leaving and went back about 45 mins later and the place was practically empty. (Still no acknowledgment) There was only one person waiting. Sweet! So, I thought. Both barbers finish... Barber two takes the other guy waiting and then there was us... "Oh he'll get you next." and proceeds to sweep his area. Really? Then I find out its cash only, so I called the hubby over. When he walks in, he also received no greeting. However, Barber one started asking barber 2 if he's got him too. At this point he was literally just sitting and playing on his phone. Barber 2 asks "what are you done man?" B1 replies "yeah man I'm done... it's 220." Then he notices my husband give me cash, and says oh nevermind. We waited a few more minutes, only because I had already been waiting for so long, when another guy walks in. B1 stood up, got the chair ready for him and sat him down right away. I'm not sure if it's because we were girls or because they didn't really know us or the fact they we were not skinny girls but when we first walked in nobody even acknowledged us we sat there for a while and a few minutes later a smaller blond headed girl walks in and he gets on the phone and calls the guy that is supposed to be doing her hair and tells her oh have a seat he'll be with you in a minute but still nothing towards us...and another older lady walked in and idk if she was the lady or person who owned it but she sat down in a barbers chair like as if she was waiting and didn't even acknowledge us awful business and customer service I would give them 0 stars if I could read more
