I was surprised with the lack of transparency during, before, and after the service. When I made an appointment over the phone I was told there was a base price but price could vary depending on hair type. At the time I had shoulder length virgin Asian hair and was told the service would most likely be around base price. During my time at the salon, my stylist didn't mention additional costs or that my hair required anything extra so I didn't think much of pricing until I was slammed with a charged that was 43% more than the base price (later told that the extra charge was for bonder mixed in the bleach and extra toner). Since the stylist has full control of product use and hair knowledge I think it is the his/her responsibility to let the client know he/she will be using extra product or time before or during the service so the client is made aware that what is done will be additional. It is principle. I escalated this to the manager but nothing was done. I also later learned that a colleague of mine with similar hair but twice as long and thicker was charged the same amount when she previously went to same stylist/salon. Wouldn't recommend or come back to this establishment again. I will go the length and use my previous stylist in California who never told me she required extra product or time to balayage my hair.

I got a trim and highlights. They had to cut a little more off than I had hoped, but that was because I my hair was awfully crooked from a cut I got at Top Chic on Torgata. The stylist at La Bionda was very professional, great at keeping the conversation going, and gave me the best cut I have ever had. It grew out really nicely and the highlights came out beautifully. They use Logona Herbal Hair Colors from Denmark (100% organic, plant based color). Balanzera has a nice and calming space. Everyone that works there is really nice and friendly. They serve organic tea and healthy snacks (apples, nuts, raisins and sometimes dark chocolate). If you get a color treatment you can have a hot foot bath and an apple cider vinegar scalp treatment is done after the color is washed out. I highly recommend this salon. Like any salon in Norway it's not cheap, but quality counts!

At least it looked that way to me. When I did get service, they acted like I was bothering them and didn't even seem to know much about the products. I still got out of there with the shampoo after a while, too much time spent in chaos and misunderstandings. After all, the shampoo is not such a great product. I recommend to read yourself up on the stuff on the ingredient list and do google search to know what it does, even when you go to a shop with nature products.

She didn't speak much English and I don't speak much Norwegian, but we were able to communicate well enough.
