So not only did they charge me more money, they also didn't even complete the job. What really bothered me was being told that my dog was in pain while they were trying to remove the knots. If you think a dog is in pain or you're unable to finish the grooming, the respectful thing to do is call the owner and explain the situation so they can decide what to do next. Instead, I was charged even more for a service that wasn't completed. I was also told they charge by the minute, which was never listed anywhere on the website or in their packages. That's something customers should be informed about upfront. This place is honestly outrageous. I pay less to get my own hair done than what they charged for my dog, and the fact that they charged more when they couldn't even finish the job is ridiculous. Not to mention the older woman that works there had the audacity to be rude to me and tell me that oh we're never taking your dog back and suggested that maybe I shouldn Find a new sitter for my dog for when I'm out of town, which quite frankly is none of her business. I've got a 12 yr old corgi-golden, she's arthritic, and has been in a program in Chicago for about a year. Underwater treadmill, laser, therapeutic exercise/massage and acupuncture. It's been hard as she slows down to keep her muscles strong, and her weight in control. Thru her Chicago program, she's made incredible progress, her energy jumped, her weight dropped to near target, and I feel like she's turned back the clock by at least a year. So, I was delighted to find a place in St Pete where we could keep her program going, keep her muscles strong, and weight under control. Everything was fine until I asked if I'm allowed in the back with her, as she's been used to that for the past year. Her program has been a family endeavor, I learn how to help her with 'homework', even bought her some of the equipment for stretches/exercise at home, so that she can work out at home between visits. I joke about it but it's true - I know more about her health and care than about my own, and wouldn't have it any other way. I'm stretching every possible amount of time, and quality of life with her that I can. I was told an emphatic no, that Dr. Brown believes that having owners in the back while the pet is on UT, exercise, etc 'creates a distraction', and you have to drop them off for an hour, or wait in the lobby. No further discussion or consideration. I've been giving it a lot of thought since I called earlier this week, and I just cannot partner on a program without being able to be a part of her program. All the conversations I've had with the Chicago rehab vets/techs, all the things we saw and adjusted during her program...I can't imagine shifting to a drop off/pick up, or wait in the lobby style. Since that approach may work for some folks, I've given a "3" rating.

I was beyond upset and 5 weeks post op, he still could not walk.I brought him to Tampa Bay K-9 rehab and Dr. Brown examined him and let me know right away that he shouldn't get a cart as that would only hinder his progress. I took him in 3 days a week for the first month, and after his first session he was able to lever himself up on one leg ( then quickly fell over ) but still it was miraculous! He is now up and walking and running great, albeit wobbly, he can get around fine. I am so grateful to the whole team. I continue to take him in once a week to maintain his muscles. I recommend!

I didn't care too much, but after returning home, I realized that things might not be what he said. . Raven was very happy to go to dogtopia before, waving his tail when he came out. Today he was very disappointed, and he hide himself very fast when he entered the door. I really can't think of how he knocked out such a smooth wound in the cage, unless someone took his neck and threw him into the cage and hit the ground . Yesterday I also sent him to dogtopia, but he was very happy. I don't know what happened today. The staff was initially very polite, took my dog back, and I paid for the services. In under a minute, they brought my dog back out, and said he did not need the procedure done. When I began to challenge and question, they replied that usually dogs show signs when this is needed. I responded that he had shown signs, has for weeks, and I've been doing this for six years with him and know when it's necessary. The staff was young and looked back at me with blank eyes. When I asked for a refund, since the service was not even done, I received a response of "I could get in trouble." Why not bring a manager out then? To not provide a needed service for my dog and then refuse to give me a refund is absurd.

The real issue was that she didn't follow the written instructions I provided -- instead, she went by notes from a groomer who's no longer there. If she had followed what I asked, Jack wouldn't have lost his signature bunny tail or been groomed so closely in sensitive areas. There's clearly a lot of internal confusion at Pawtology since the former grooming team left. There was no handover, and it shows. I'm raising my rating from one star to two because I do believe they're trying to improve -- but they have a long way to go. If you choose to use this service, be very clear about what you want (and don't want), and inspect your pet carefully before you leave.

Last minute I was scrambling looking for a groomer and came across Pawtology so I booked an online appointment. When I showed up it turns out there was a fluke in the system with my appointment request but they saw poor little stinky Liam and had the heart to take him over an hour past the time they take walk-ins. They did an amazing job (and I'm so picky on the way Liams face is trimmed)and he seemed to love them so we are going to be new regulars here!
