My family has used Kingsley Animal Hospital for the past 11 yrs, 2 cats and 2 dogs. We have…read morechanged vets after our last experience. - We brought in our 8 yr old golden retriever with a limp and expressed concerns that it was cancer, as his age, breed and the location of the pain all pointed to cancer being likely. They said no it's just an injury and will get better. - a few weeks go by and my dog stopped eating (still limping also). Took him in, they did some x-rays with dye injected into his stomach and they said he had a blockage. We figured he ate a sock and told them the same. They say he needs surgery to remove the blockage. We again ask/confirm if the limp could be a result of cancer, as we want to make sure he doesn't have cancer before we commit to a $2-3k surgery. They say no, there's nothing that would suggest he has cancer. We move fwd with the surgery. - The surgery is completed They say they just found grass that was blocking food from leaving the stomach and going into the intestines. We thought this was weird as dogs eat grass all the time and typically doesn't cause a blockage like this, but that's what they said. - a few days go by and he's still not eating. We take him back in, they do another xray of his stomach and say that nothing is moving from his stomach still. The dye is still in his stomach from the xrays before the surgery - nothing is moving and it seems his digestive tract has stopped working for some reason. They talk to me about euthanasia. - a few more days go by with my dog not eating, and he was fading fast. We started thinking about taking him in for euthanasia in the next few days if something miraculous doesn't happen. - then he has explosive diarrhea everywhere, and a SOCK comes out! He was instantly better - appetite was fully back and he was back to normal. - another few weeks go by and now he can't put any weight on his leg. We take him to a different vet, they do an x-ray, and he has massive and apparent cancer tumor in his shoulder. Probably has a month or 2 to live. - we're now just trying to make him comfortable and happy at the end of his life. Our budget to do anything is shot from spending $3k on the stomach surgery. We obviously talked to them about all of this. They not only missed the cancer that we repeatedly asked about and expressed concern over, but they also performed a stomach surgery and missed removing the sock that was causing the blockage. They refuse to acknowledge any fault or mistakes. A few google searches quickly show that: ~80% of cancer in dogs start in a front limb at either the shoulder or wrist ~80% of cancer shows it first sign at around age 8 ~ large breeds, and golden retrievers in particular, have a higher prevalence to get cancer. All of these stats describe my dog, yet they never did an x-ray on his leg after being asked about it repeatedly and us specifically asking if we should do an x-ray. Instead they took our money and performed the stomach surgery (which we otherwise may not have done), and they didn't even remove the blockage that the surgery was for. This vet is probably fine for your regular check-ups and basic stuff, but I would not recommend them for any serious health issues or surgeries. They have steered us wrong and failed us at every step of the way.

She took no time at all to warm up to Dr.Zoe. Now when I tell her it's time to see Dr.Zoe she runs to the car wagging her tail! We are working on her sway back and her nervous system. Cane corsos and other big chested dogs start to have back issues earlier which lead to other issues. I'm trying to prevent problems by taking her now at 5 and reverse any damage that was done before I rescued her. Animal chiropractic is so gently compared to human. Dr.Zoe takes her time to make sure my girl is ready and feeling safe. This is one of the best investments to keep my girl healthy and happy and living as long as possible. *Pic of her after her adjustment. Dr.Zoe had shared on her IG.
