When i talked to Adam Hess I told him about that being what I was quoted and what I was able to afford. He told me to come on in. I started talking to him and he didnt give me any advice, just tried to sell me on other counseling option, couple counseling and a test that he, Adam Hess, recommended I take the help benefit himself on treating me. So thinking this was for his benefit, not saying it would cost, but was to help him, i took it. Well he tricked me!! His cost was $155, not the $100 he let me believe it would cost. Plus another $150 for the test he tricked me into taking to help benefit himself on easily treating my condition. Adam Hess didn't give me any advice on helping me and said he couldn't write any prescriptions for a medicine to help. He did say he would talk to my doctor and would get my doctor to write me a prescription but he never did. It took an hour for him to charge me $305 when I said I'm looking to spend $100. I never heard from him again but him sending bills and bills. I called and complained and said it's not right and explain my experience but no one up there cared and now I have a well over priced bill and haven't received the slightest bit of help from Adam Hess. Please believe me this is the last place you want to go to find a decent physiologist. I was lied to and screwed over! Don't let this happen to you!!

So believing them I didn't take him any clothes and when I picked him up his clothes reaped of seven day one close. All they do is sit around all day in a day room watching whatever program did children that are in charge want to watch. They do however get to go outside and play basketball sometimes while the employees are vaping or smoking cigarettes or visiting or whatever. Counseling is done in a group setting. They speak to your child alone maybe once or twice. Whatever psychiatrist is on duty does call you and ask you about changing the medication before they do it. And of course you answer thinking that they're counseling him and monitoring him finding out his history only to find out that no one is talking to him. I also seen from his lab work that they were checking his thyroid which I in my opinion don't think has anything to do with his mental health. He's been there twice. I didn't want him to go there the second time but they said that was the only bed available. In all the mental health care here in the state of Louisiana isn't the greatest. But by far Longleaf hospital by far is not where you want to have your child place to get the help they need. They don't even deserve a star but you have to give one in order to leave your review. One night the night staff decided they didn't want to check up with me every 5 mins like they…read moreneeded to since I was on a 72 hour watch for attempted suicide and they decided to cut my beeper off of my leg and keep it in their pocket so they don't have to get up and scan it. Also the hospital charged for a "vaccine" that I never got. Fights breaking out every night and the staff let it happen. Some staff even bullied another staff member who was having mental health issues of his own. Girls running around with each other having sex despite age barriers. And most girls there were there as a ward of the state and didn't suffer from mental issues so people who were trying to recover were being surrounded by drug addicts who ran the place. I didn't feel safe there or even taken care of. When I got there for "registration" it was the middle of the night and they left me alone in a bright room with no blankets or even a pillow all I had was the clothes on my back which were shorts and a shirt and some crocs. When I got into the hospital they didn't give me a pillow so what I had to do was take my blanket and put it in the pillowcase they gave me. The "doctors" there forced medications on the kids for insurance purposes and if you didn't want to take it they would give you a shot full of tranquilizers for "refusing our meds". If anything I came out worse than going in. The only shining light there was a man named Daniel who was on the staff. He was full of sunshine and actually cared. But everyone else was rude as if having to do their JOB was an inconvenience to them. One night a staff member brought in a can of Red Bull and just threw it in our trash and a girl found it busted it open and was giving the metal out so girls could self harm. I had a fresh piercing and one of the nurses put a comb tooth in it and it got really infected and I got really sick when I got out. Most girls fake "getting better" just so that they can leave because honestly faking it is better than speaking up because if you speak up you feel trapped and targeted by the staff. The staff refused to go through the stuff in my suitcase because they just didn't want to so I was stuck in the same clothes for a solid 3 days.
