Unbelievably great massages! My husband and I had been traveling for two and a half weeks when we had our massages with Regina (myself) and Ada (him). I can not say enough good things about these two magicians! We were so sore and tired from our travels, but these two women were miracle workers and got every last drop of stress from our bodies. We both felt like puddles of happiness at the end and were able to enjoy the next week of vacation much more. Regina and Ada were gracious and friendly and the spa was clean and relaxing. HEAVEN! It's difficult to find a real, talented masseuse here in Amsterdam. I struggled for months to find someone who offers traditional yet holistic massage in a gorgeous setting. Thankfully, I found Marin. She's an incredible masseuse with a beautiful studio and talent I've not found elsewhere. I went in halfway expecting to be disappointed but I left after having - seriously - the best massage of my life. Not only can her hands do wonders with tight muscles but she did reflexology on me and was so accurate with her discussions of what was happening in my body and in my life. Looking at my foot "So, did he break your heart or did you break his?" She asked. - - Mind you, I just got out of a 5 year relationship a mere 3 months ago. How she knew that by looking at my foot - I'll never know. I can't recommend Marin enough. If your body needs a massage, to flush toxins, reflexology, etc. this is absolutely the place to go to in Amsterdam. Very reasonable prices, responsive and professional team. Her comfortable studio is tucked away in a cute neighborhood in West. She has good product knowledge of oils and various healthful items. Oh, and she does cupping. Which, even though I've never had it done, it always makes my fiance smile when he comes back, feeling proud and accomplished with all of his cupping circles around his back. On a sunny Saturday afternoon, my partner in crime and I were booked in for a massage. I had booked us in for 60 minutes each (yes, at the same time) through their online system- which by the way is excellent, but you have to remember to make a transfer before your appointment or bring cash because they do not have card services on site. The signage is minimal, but I think some fellow Yelpers have taken photos of the front so picking it out is easy. The doorway looks like any other little door amongst the masses of apartments in the residential part of 9 Streets and just out front, they have a little wooden bench for you to wait your turn. We were offered warm tea and asked to wait whilst they set up for our session as a duo, and it definitely wasn't an issue as the weather gods were kind to us on this fine day! When we were finally ushered inside, I noticed how small the actual room was but thankfully you don't notice any of that once you've whipped all your clothes off and the massage therapists are going about their work. At first I was worried that 60 minutes would be too long. Would I be bored? Would it hurt more than I like? Silly of me really because before long, I was out like a light and was feeling like I had been transported to massage heaven. With patches of snoring and drooling (I'm sure), mingled in with gentle tunes and burning essential oils, the entire session felt entirely too decadent but everything my body needed. My massage therapist Hanna, was incredible. She was gentle and attentive, and carefully listened to my concerns. On top of that, she also seemed closely in tune with how my body worked so I woke up feeling like a million bucks with a couple of tweaks I wasn't expecting (fancy ear, foot and pressure point work). But wait there's more.. it didn't even end there after the massage was over. At the (end) end, we were both offered a glass of bubbly, a moment to chat and a bit of time to regulate our breathing again (from zombie mode to regular person capable of walking mode) before we walked out into the sunshine. A big THANK YOU YELP for this find! With all the stress that comes with moving to a new country, I knew I was going to eventually need a massage. After this last weekend with a backpack, I came back knowing that I needed a massage this week! Thankfully Marin had an opening today and I was so excited to go. Some tips about the studio: Arrive on time. You don't have to go 10-15 min early like in many places in the U.S. (even on your first visit). The room is just inside the door, so if you are early, there in a bench just outside the door for you to wait. There is no dressing room, so just know that you will be undressing while your therapist is there. It's not like they are watching, just letting you know so you won't be shocked. No worries...initial protocol is a little different, but the massage is as good as it gets. I asked for the deep tissue massage which I have had many times in the states, but just know she does DEEP tissue. It was awesome. She asked if she could use the cups and I said yes. Now, they are not comfortable, but I didn't get a relaxation massage, I got a deep tissue, and they were needed. You get used to them a bit and she talks you through it. I truly appreciate the type of massage she does and can't wait to go back. I might try a reflexology next time! read more

I read all the other amazing reviews here and let myself have my very first massage ever :). I had a massage with Marin herself. Her massage room is very private and quiet, and it's only you and her there. She is very involved. I had a rather difficult massage because I just can't relax for some reason (like at all) I had a deep tissue massage (painful!) and it was my first experience.. I asked for a relaxing massage, but she just gave me this one anyway, so I can't give more stars because I actually was not very pleased with that. :( I felt a bit awkward to undress since there is no changing room, but Marin made me feel very comfortable. Arrive on time since you can't wait inside (there is a bench you're welcome to sit on the street). Oh, and they only accept cash payment, so don't forget to bring it if you go there :) read more

Best massage in Amsterdam! I don't really want to put that out there because then it might get too busy and I won't get in again. Also that would mean there are no better ones but at least I don't have to keep searching for a good one. I was staying in the area for the weekend and decided to search for a massage which was close, on Yelp of course. Marin got such great reviews I wanted to give her a try, but she was already fully booked. So I decided to do what anyone would in this situation and book a massage at another place. Well this along with the next availability Marin had a few days later. It actually worked out really great because it gave me a close reference between her massage and a "average "one. Has a few others have said Maren practices intuitive massage. She asks you what's problems you're having and what pains then focuses on those areas along with whatever she feels might be to tense. It was really nice to talk with someone while they are giving the massage. I think that direct feedback really helps to enhance the experience. Will I go back for another visit? Best massage in Amsterdam! I had a couples massage by Ilona and Marlies, they were both so welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. I had a relaxation massage and it was probably the best massage I have ever had. At the end of the massage the ladies gave us a glass of champaign and they also wrote down a list of restaurants and cafes they recommend to visit. She was very friendly and didn't just do a standard procedure but rather thoroughly worked on the weaknesses in my body. I've been in Europe for roughly 3 weeks and tried to get a massage 2 other times (once in Amsterdam) before I found Massage Marin and Sandra. I got a massage from Sandra yesterday and I can say it may be the best I've ever had. We had a great conversation and an even better massage. She didn't rush and was genuinely interested in making sure I left in better shape than when I arrived. I felt like I was on another planet when she was finished - as it should be! My only regret is that I didn't find her sooner during my stay here in Amsterdam. I booked an appointment for a 1-hr deep tissue massage from Marlies. As soon as I arrived, she made me feel right at home, prepared a hot cup of tea and we talked a bit before settling in for the massage. Now I've visited about a dozen different masseuses in my life and I must say that I believe Marlies to be among the best, if not the best I've experienced. She has a relatively unique technique and is very thorough. By the time it was over, I felt like I had totally sunk into the massage table...just heaven. She asked me what areas were bothering me then addressed the proper posture I should use to avoid stress in those areas. Massage Marin is honestly my favourite massage spot. The space is small and very cozy, and has great vibes! You get great massages at reasonable prices from highly professional & talented people. I've fallen asleep every time I've got a massage here, which has never happened anywhere else. I've got massages from both Marlies and Sandra, and they are both phenomenal. They have very similar styles, they are always welcoming, make me feel comfortable, ask about me/how I'm doing before the session, and never rush me out after either -- I always feel like they care about my well being and that I'm not just a number. Marlies is extremely intuitive, it's like she is talking to my body and knows exactly what to do, or where to go next. The best deep tissue and craniosacral massage I've ever had. She's also given me some very helpful tips to help relieve my recurring aches and pains. Sandra is also highly intuitive, and she has one of the most nurturing and positive energies I've ever experienced. OMG - Marin is beyond wonderful. I am an RN, massage therapist, and VERY picky with who I go to for a massage and therefore usually never get a massage when traveling but I had accidentally ran across a reference to her from some hotel guests rating the hotel I stayed at. She is intuitive, she used cupping on my legs that totally relieved the pain and swelling (I had been walking a lot and have fibermyalgia and arthritis) to my shock in just minutes. I had never had cupping used before though I knew about it and I was SHOCKED at the results. You will NOT be disappointed. As most of the previous reviews have said, this place is incredible. It is one large room, built for relaxation. I booked a 90 minute massage with Sandra due to ongoing and consistent back pain. I've been to massage therapists, physical therapists and chiropractors in NYC, and I can tell you that Sandra is one of the best. We spent about 20 minutes sitting at the desk (drinking mint tea that she made me) just talking about what I do for a living, when I moved to Amsterdam, why I'm there, what my physical complaints are, etc. Sandra is extremely professional and seems to genuinely want to make you feel better. It does not feel like a cookie cutter "churn them in and churn them out" type spa that you might find in New York. Sandra is more like a physical therapist that massages you. It was not in the least bit awkward at all, but just that you're prepared, there is no changing room - you get undressed right there. They take cash only- I wasn't sure if I was supposed to or not, but I tipped Sandra. Either way, she deserved it so I was happy to tip. She warned me I may be a bit sore tomorrow, and I can already feel that that will probably be true. Sandra's recommendation? Go home and lay down on the couch for the rest of the day. No problem. Will definitely be coming back in a few weeks and will certainly book with Sandra. Can't wait! read more
